AJ, over at The Strata-Sphere, looks at poll weighting and other variables that still to this day make my eyelids droop.

What I really found interesting was a comment left in another post about the polls:

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of Republicans registered Democrat to vote for Hillary. This has skewed the voter registration numbers. Then the pollsters adjust their polling to reflect the skewed registrations.

But there is a problem with that. First of all, when they adjust their polling ratio, there is no guarantee that the Democrats they add for polling are the Republicans that changed party to vote in the primary. Secondly, most polling outfits have pools of known respondents of both parties. So when they adjust their ratio, they just poll more people out of the “known Democrat” pool. So they are probably never going to poll one of the Republicans who changed party to Democrat unless they happen to hit one who was in the “known Republican” pool.

So basically, Operation Chaos does more than screw up the primaries, it screws up polling completely because it artificially changes the voter registration and therefore the polling ratios.

Gotta love it! You are going to see Obama leading by 5 points going into the election and losing. It is going to be embarrassing for a lot of polling outfits. Link

Could it be?

The argument that Barack Obama was only 8 years old when Bill Ayers was plotting against his country rings intellectually hollow–I guess that is why the press is running with it–no thinking involved.

No one thinks that Barack Obama is a terrorist or that he condones domestic terrorism, but his long term association with Bill Ayers, does show an astonishing lack of judgment on his part and more importantly, it shows that his love of country is not offended by a past terrorist and a current leftist who thinks America is a source of evil in the world.

Barack Obama did not leave the pews when the Reverend Wright damned America and he did not disassociate himself from Bill Ayers (until he decided that his primary chances were in trouble) because he himself shares their dark view of the American Republic (Barack Obama worked with Ayers, spreading his radical education plan on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and the Woods Fund). You or I would never serve in any organization spearheaded by a former domestic terrorist who still espoused anti-America, neo-Stalinist leftism. Obama did.

You say, come on, Ayers is a professor, he’s reformed himself. True, he no longer is a domestic terrorist, but he still hates America and Barack Obama saw nothing wrong with that. Do you ever once think Obama looked at Ayers’ education agenda and said, “Bill, this is just plain wrong?”

In Ayers’ own words:

In the spirit of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. we have to dare to see the world as it really is, and then to choose justice over tribe or nation or petty self-interest. We need to organize and mobilize against illegal wars of conquest and domination, send a sharp warning right now as the powerful mobilize to bomb Iran under the banner of the same exhausted lies and rationalizations, and press the demand for peace in concrete terms:

1. Withdraw all mercenary forces immediately.

2. Set a date-certain—within three months—for all U.S. troops to leave Iraq and Afghanistan.

3. Dismantle all U.S. military bases in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.

4. Renounce all claims to the natural resources of Iraq.

5. Call for the creation of an independent international commission to assess and monitor the amount of reparations the U.S. owes to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is only a start, and it is still a choice—solidarity with all people, or endless war and death. As King reminded us, those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable. Link

Ayers won’t even defend his country in a just war–Afghanistan. Wondering where Obama got his “air-raiding villages…” line from?

Obama worked with a man who thinks the U.S. and Israel is a terrorist state. He even thinks that Sherman’s march to the sea was terrorism!

Terrorism—according to both official U.S. policy and the U.N.—is the use or threat of random violence to intimidate, frighten, or coerce a population toward some political end. This means, of course, that terrorism is not the exclusive province of a cult, a religious sect, or a group of fanatics. It can be any of these, but it can also be—and often is—executed by governments and states. A bombing in a café in Israel is terrorism, and an Israeli assault on a neighborhood in Gaza is terrorism; the September 11 attacks were acts of terrorism, and the U.S. bombings in Viet Nam for a decade were acts of terrorism. Terrorism is never justifiable, even in a just cause—the Union fight in the 1860’s was just, for example, but Shernan’s March to the Sea was indefensible terror. I’ve never advocated terrorism, never participated in it, never defended it. The U.S. government, by contrast, does it routinely and defends the use of it in its own cause consistently.

Furthermore, he thinks capitalism is a spent force and should be replaced. Marx said, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs….” Remember how that turned out for tens of millions of the citizens of the Soviet Union? Yet Ayers advocates the same system that murdered over 40 million people and caused untold economic deprivation.

Imperialism. I’m against it, and if Sean Hannity and others were honest, this is the ground they would fight me on. Capitalism played its role historically and is exhausted as a force for progress: built on exploitation, theft, conquest, war, and racism, capitalism and imperialism must be defeated and a world revolution—a revolution against war and racism and materialism, a revolution based on human solidarity and love, cooperation and the common good—must win. Link

Or maybe that sounded more like Lenin in Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism. Obama once again sought out this man and worked with him to spread his radical agenda to the children of Chicago. Great, Obama and Ayers probably succeeded in teaching children to fail, just like the Soviet Union…..

Ayers on American sexual morality:

Combine a culture of sexual repression, shame, fear, and self-loathing with a politics of authoritarianism and a practice of totalitarian power, and you get centuries of rape and torture—glossed as the psychological problems of a few aberrant priests— or reactionary politicians burning their imagined witches by day and sneaking an anonymous forbidden look or touch whenever possible. Link

Mr. Ayers also has high praise for Hugo Chavez and his education reform. He is praising a dictator and his communist agenda folks! Any guesses what the education reforms Ayers and Obama pushed in Chicago were like?

President Hugo Chavez, Vice-President Vicente Rangel, Ministers Moncada and Isturiz, invited guests, comrades. I’m honored and humbled to be here with you this morning. I bring greetings and support from your brothers and sisters throughout Northamerica. Welcome to the World Education Forum! Amamos la revolucion Bolivariana!

This is my fourth visit to Venezuela, each time at the invitation of my comrade and friend Luis Bonilla, a brilliant educator and inspiring fighter for justice. Luis has taught me a great deal about the Bolivarian Revolution and about the profound educational reforms underway here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chavez. Link

Here is what Ayers thinks the real agenda behind 9/11 is:

Actually Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, and their gang knew exactly what to do, and they did it—
they pulled out their most ambitious plans to create a new American empire, to remake the world to their liking, to suppress dissent, to bail out the airlines by transferring $20 billion without safeguards or benchmarks from public to private hands in a matter of days with a single no-vote in the Senate, to scuttle aspects of the law that checked their power, to deliver the country, in the words of Arthur Miller, “into the hands of the radical right, a ministry of free
floating apprehension toward anything that never happens in the middle of Missouri.” The ideologues filled up all the available space with their fantastic interpretation of events, and they shouted down anyone with the temerity to disagree, donning the mantle of patriotism to
defend their every move.

The mantra of American Empire is laughable. If this was a crusade to build an empire, Iraq would not have a government, it would have an American general acting as governor. Oil prices would not be $100 a barrel, they would be $40 a barrel, at least for America.

Just wondering if you think Ayers started thinking like this the day Obama disassociated himself from him? Or do you think Bill Ayers never said anything like this to Obama?

Lastly, in this post, Ayers justifies his terrorism on the grounds that he was opposing American terrorism. Moral equivalance fueled by Marxism-Leninism.

Ayers mistakes war for terrorism and he justifies the brutal oppression of the communist regimes in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia in terms of anything is better than America imperialism.

I’m almost fairly sure, that millions of Cambodians during the Pol Pot era would have loved to have been occupied by an army from the “American Empire.”

Ayers was simply nothing more than a stupid young kid who bought into the Soviet propaganda of the Cold War–America is evil, American capitalism is oppressive, America is an imperial power, America kills babies, women, and children first…. The problem is that he is now an middle aged man and he still believes that Lenin is right. And he incredibly ignores the brutality of the totalitarianism of communism and instead condemns our liberal democracy and its enshrinement of individual liberty.

And that brings us to Obama. Obama has an amazing knack of “palling” around with people who have a dim view of America. Maybe that is because Obama’s view of America is disturbingly similar.

The left and the AP have simply lost all credibility. An AP article argues that by saying that Obama “palled around with terrorists”, Palin was making a racial attack or at least something that could be perceived as a racial attack.

The article whitewashes Obama’s ties with Ayers, failing to point out that it wasn’t a forced association, it was an association that Obama cultivated.

Additionally, the AP article goes on to say that by saying Obama doesn’t see America as “we see it”, that again is a racial attack.

Let’s see, Obamer sat in the pews for 20 years while his pastors attacked whites, Jews, the capitalist system, and the American Republic. Additionally, Obama continued to sit in the pews while his church cultivated ties with Palestinian terrorists and Louis Farrakhan.

Apparently the AP writer sees America like Ayers, Obamer, and Wright see America.

Here’s some gems from the article:

And though she may have scored a political hit each time, her attack was unsubstantiated and carried a racially tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret.

Unsubstantiated? What utter complete hogwash. I guess just because this reporter has failed to investigate Obamer’s long term relationship with TUCC and Ayers, it is unsubstantiated. Just take a look at the post below and tell me how unsubstantiated Palin’s remarks are.

But Palin’s reference questions Obama’s associations and thereby his character. And her context is inaccurate.

She is referring to Obama’s relationship with William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam-era Weather Underground, was exaggerated at best if not outright false. No evidence shows they were “pals” or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career.

Let’s see, Obamer launched his political career at Ayers’ home. He sought out and remained on several boards with Ayers for years.. It doesn’t matter if they were close. Obamer decided to associate with a terrorist. He decided to help advance Ayers radical agenda.

Good Americans would have declined meeting him in the first place. And this is what this leftist AP reporter doesn’t get. The only way you serve on a board with Ayers if you share some, if not much of his anti-America world view.

Obama, who was a child when the Weathermen were planting bombs, has denounced Ayers’ radical views and actions.

Bud, as a reporter, you just plain suck. Talk about lies. Obama only denounced Ayers’ radical views after he continued to make attacks against America after 9/11. When Ayers was a convenient tool for Obamer’s political advancement, Ayers views, to Obamer, weren’t an issue.

In a post-Sept. 11 America, terrorists are envisioned as dark-skinned radical Muslims, not the homegrown anarchists of Ayers’ day 40 years ago. With Obama a relative unknown when he began his campaign, the Internet hummed with false e-mails about ties to radical Islam of a foreign-born candidate.

Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as “not like us” is another potential appeal to racism. It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American.

And, by the way, it’s racist anyway to attack Obamer.

To the AP reporter, quit. You are shameful. You didn’t even investigate Obamer’s ties with Ayers and if you actually did, you purposefully ignored the facts of his long association with this American traitor.

Think about that again. Palin wasn’t independently wealthy, although her family is now well off; her husband made good money as a commercial fisherman and working in the oil fields, but with four children to raise, their status as a two-income family was undoubtedly financially important to them. Yet she was walking away from a plum job with a six-figure salary that had given her a more than 60% pay raise from her job as Mayor. Palin herself had worked only in politics since leaving her sportscasting job some 16 years earlier, and by picking up a crusade against the state’s most powerful political figures, she stood an extremely good chance of burying her promising political future for good. But she was willing to walk away from all of that at age 40 to do the right thing. If you can picture Barack Obama doing that, you have a very vivid imagination.

Make sure to read the entire article. Sarah Palin for President, oops, Vice President : )

We in Hell were shocked when one of my minions walked past the newspaper stand this morning and saw the Times had a story about the Obamer/Ayers connection on the front page.

The shock wore off a few minutes ago, after We had a chance to read the story. Hell isn’t going to reprint any of it, because it is just another example of liberal moral equivalence and excuse the Democrat at any cost story. The story is here.

In essence, the Times excuses the relationship because:

a). they really didn’t spend any time together.

b). Obamer doesn’t share Ayer’s radicalism.

c). Ayers is now a model citizen.

They didn’t spend any time together? Obamer’s political career was launched at Ayer’s home. Obamer served on Ayer’s education endowment effort and ultimately chaired it for years. One minute of association with an American terrorist is one minute too long. You simply do not associate with people like that. You shun them. At least that is what people who love America would do….

Reformed My Ass

Obamer doesn’t share Ayer’s radicalism? We in Hell call bullshit on that. Obamer might not plant bombs, but what do you call attending a church for 20 years that damned America and preached hate against Jews and Whites? We in Hell and Americans in the heartland would call that radical. But we in Hell guess that the elites on the east coast just can’t see it that way.

Ayers as a model citizen. We in Hell say that is a bunch of happy horseshit. Ayers should be shamed for the rest of his life and shunned by others. Instead, he still holds radical views. He might have a Ph.D., but he still is an anti-America punk who doesn’t deserve the bounty of this great nation.

Here is a quote from Ayer’s, circa 2007:

Empire resurrected, and unapologetic, war without end. An undefined enemy that is supposed to be a rallying point for a new kind of energized jingoistic patriotism. Unprecedent and unapologetic military expansion. White supremcy changing its form, but essentially in tact. Attacks on women and girls –violent attacks. Growing surveillance in every sphere of our lives. On and on and on. The taregting of gay and lesbian people as a kind of a scapegoating gesture, to keep our minds off of what is really happening. Link

The New York Times, if you haven’t guessed, is still a liberal rag as it defends and redefines an enemy of the Republic.
