9And £behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:9-11

Times were tough. The people of Israel were under Roman occupation and control. Herod the Great, the one allowed to rule with permission of the Romans was a ruthless leader who destroyed anyone who threatened his throne. He was also known for his building projects which were financed by the taxes he laid on his own people. Sounds familiar!

Joseph was betrothed to a maiden named Mary when things went from bad to worse. Mary was found with child. Through the intervention of God Joseph went through with the marriage and then just before the time of her delivery they received the notice to go to Bethlehem for the census. What more could be heaped on this young couple and the people who dwelled in Israel.

All of this was the setting for God to move. His answer, SIMPLY A SAVIOR!

Desperate times call for desperate measures. His declaration, DO NOT BE AFRAID there is born to you this day…A SAVIOR, who is CHRIST (the anointed one) the LORD (King of kings). Few if any understood the full meaning of what was happening. Distracted by all the earthly needs and worldly cares man was missing God’s answer to all their needs. SIMPLY A SAVIOR!

A Savior who fulfilled prophecy, so we could fulfill prophecy. A Savior to redeem mankind from the throes of satanic influence and demise so that we could walk in our purpose of dominion. A Savior to allow us to live in communion with our Creator as true sons of God. This was the purpose of that first Christmas morning and nothing has changed!

Man is still distracted by earthly needs and worldly cares. The setting is much the same and has been since His grand entrance into our world. The solution is still the same – A SAVIOR! EMMANUEL – GOD WITH US! There is nothing more God could do and there is nothing more needed. Well I guess there is. Your SURRENDER! Just as Mary and Joseph had to surrender in faith believing, so must you. The same declaration is being made today – DO NOT BE AFRAID, a SAVIOR HAS BEEN BORN, CHRIST THE KING!

This Christmas may you fully understand the birth of our SAVIOR. May you walk in His promise of dominion as you live in His Truth.

Merry Christmas to All!

SIMPLY A SAVIOR!
