So I’ve had the ManageWP ad running on my site recently as part of the PressedAds network. I like to knmow what I’m advertising, so I gave it a whirl. If this post works, it will appear on all of my sites simultaneously. If that works, I’ll be writing up a quick review shortly of the product. It’s definitely got some neat features.

Recently we’ve had a really good run of quality mixes from friends and members of The Voodoo Empire. You can check those out on my personal site at www.RVoodoo.com. If you are looking to get your sounds heard out there, hit me up! I’ll be happy to host it! The last 3 mixes all have over 100 unique downloads in a week. We get great distribution, especially in the USA, Canada, UK, and France. Plus when I host it, it stays here. You don’t have to shuffle or delete mixes like on music sites, and you don’t have to worry about any links expiring.

The Voodoo Empire is here to stay! We’re not going anywhere, and neither are our websites! We’ll happily give your music a home! Check out the site for tonnes of great mixes, and consider adding your own to the lineup!

The Voodoo Empire is being moved from GoDaddy to Bluehost. If this post works, then it would seem we are all set!

With Google recently opening up brand and product pages on Google+, we jumped right in and established all of our brands. For a link to all of them you can check out the post on my personal blog here. Or just head right over to The Voodoo Empire on Google+. Not much content yet, we are just getting things established.

When I moved all the content from my blog to this site for members, and for our products, there was a bunch of meta data that I also brough over. This included things like contact info for our members, and price and purchase link for products. So that stuff was all in the database, it just wasn’t displaying. I had a little time to work on my plugin today, so that stuff is all displayed. It doesn’t look too great right now, I haven’t had time to style anything, but I wanted to get all the functionality in place.

So I killed any sort of e-commerce plugin, and just posted the item descriptions and prices. The icon links directly to the manufacturers now. And when I put in new members, I can just fill in the links to their contact info, and that will get populated now. So everything works, I’ll get it all pretty very soon!

I’ve been trying to get my shop moved over from rvoodoo.com to thevoodooempire.com. And it’s quite a hassle trying to find an eshop plugin that works the way I want. And then I realized I’m really overcomplicating things. I mean, all of my products come from Zazzle, or Cafepress, or one of those other custom shops. Anyway, I had a whole ecart system on my website to take orders and payments, and then I would send all that off to the appropriate shop.

Why bother? Why not just post up my products, and link to the actual site where the products are sold? It’s not like I was charging any sort of markup in my shop. It was the exact same price as the manufacturer would charge. I would then have to go through the hassle of figuring out taxes, attribute variations, shipping, etc. I’m just going to make everyone’s life easier.

I’m going to set up a custom post type/taxonomy combo for my products. And I’m going to link them directly to the manufacturer. I did have some custom original stuff on my site. I was selling some of my paintings. I think for that I’ll offload directly to paypal. So I’m just going to set up a meta data for that. Have a box in my post area to plop a link into. On the post end, if a link exists, I’ll show an icon linked to either the item on the manufacturers site, or routed to paypal with the price set up for my art.

That’s right, it’s just a month away now. The Voodoo Empire’s 6th Annual Backyard Bash. It’s going to be an amazing time. I’m off of school, Joe King is off of school, I believe DJ Odawa is off of school. It’ s been a long, tough year so far. The Voodoo Empire needs to cut loose! I’m slowly working on getting the new Voodoo Empire website up to date. I’ve just finished transferring the members directory over. Now, while I’m getting the stuff over, I’m not totally happy with the way things look. I’m experimenting with various theme. I don’t have time to code my own right now, so I’m looking for something acceptable until I can do that. So things will keep changing over. I also need to get redirects in place on the old members page on my blog, so the links will point to the new page.

You’ve gotta love this item!  A Voodoo Empire branded SIGG H2O bottle.  These are handy items to have.  They’re coated aluminum, so you don’t have to worry about yucky toxins like with plastic bottles.  Plus, these things last forever, good for the earth too!  And who doesn’t like that?
