Hello everybody!

Thanks for joining us again for Episode #83. I'm joined in this episode by friend of the show Chuck to finally sit down and talk more in depth about Warhammer: Age of Sigmar! I must say its really nice to sit down for a full length show with an old friend and discuss the new game. Chuck and I break into this show going through the 4 pager of rules and giving our thoughts and opinions on it as we go over those rules talking about how to play the game.

We wrap up the show discussing what we've done lately and kind of where we are at personally in the hobby right now. We also mention the future of the show which we're not 100% on the direction of at this moment but I can certainly assure you we'll be working diligently on continuing everything as it is to the end of 2015 at which point I think we'll have had more than enough time to decide on exactly what the future of the hobby will be for ourselves and consequently the show itself.

Hello everybody,

Episode #82 is not only here, it is short. I basically just wanted to get something out after a two month hiatus and get some talk in about Age of Sigmar and where I stand on the hobby at the moment. To me it isn't dead and I'm actually hoping this will reinvigorate me into my podcasting. So its only abot 25 minutes that I recorded on my lunch at work today, listen to it and I hope maybe you get something from it. I used my mobile recorder for this episode too, so the quality is kind of rough. Sorry about that ahead of time.

I'm happy to be joined by our old friend Chuck this episode to discuss the Darkest Depths, Haunted Terrain and Streets of Death rules from the Nagash and Glotkin books. While we haven't tried these rules yet I'm looking forward to trying to incorporate some things into a small 10 player tournament I'll be running this summer in my basement.

Good lord its been a hot minute since we've managed to settle down enough to record a show. Roughly 4 months in fact. Sorry about that. The end of the year is always a hectic time for everyone. Anyway, my buddy Dave and I finally had some time to just sit and BS and that is literally what we did. Didn't really discuss what we've done lately, but we did get up to just talking about End Times for a solid hour plus. Episode #77: Assassins and Slayers

Hello and thanks for joining us on Episode 77 of the Waaagh Cast!

In this Episode friend Ryan G. and I get together to plays some small narrative scenario's from the old Skirmish book. Namely the aptly titled Asssassin! and Slayers! scenarios. I bet you can't guess what the stories are for these two games!

We talk about a couple of tournaments and as stated in the show here is the link to the Screw City GT.

The last half of the show is primarily us talking about hobby and all that we've done since our last show way back in June. Hopefully it isn't too boring for you all to listen to.

Picture 1 is the initial charge into the General's tent and the troops awaking to the sound of fighting. The 2nd is the Assassin making off after the dirty deed has been done.

The Assassin makes it away in this final picture from the first scenario and the other pictures from the Giant turned out too blurry to really use, but if the one picture doesn't give you the idea of some Slayers about to find their doom, I don't know what will.

Episode #76: The Armory-Weapons

Good day everyone,

Thank you for joining me and my friends for Episode #76 of The Waaagh Cast! A month late but still here I have to apologize for that. June is always a very busy month for me with many birthdays, anniversaries and other family obligations and this year it just got in the way of me getting an Episode produced and out on time but here it is; what was intended to be June's show out now for July. As I discuss in this show I must say ahead of time that I've sold my home and that I may be quite busy this month as well so don't be shocked if I don't get an August show out on time either.

To move on though, in this Episode I'm joined by friends of the show Ryan and Dave to go through a chunk of the main WHFB Rulebook discussing all the Magic Weapons available to everyone in the wider game. Its an interesting topic to hear the different views and opinions on the items and who we think might be able to make use of some of them.

Episode #75: Skirmish in a Wider World

Hello loyal listeners,
Welcome back for our 75th Episode! I'm joined in this one by our old co-host Chuck to play out a short 4 game campaign which will be influenced by the Warhammer Skirmish scenario's printed back in 2003 by Games Workshop in the above shown book: Warhammer Skirmish. Chuck and I basically follow along a small campaign that the game studio played through in this book which takes us through 3 specific scenarios; Cut the Bridges, Baggage Train and Storm the Barricades! These games take place previous to a full size Warhammer game and incorporate the victories and defeats into bonuses are drawbacks for the winning and or losing forces in each game.

The Skirmish scenarios being played out have much more involved storyline rules and objectives in them which can really give you a much more narrative feel for your gaming. This as far as I'm concerned only improves the game. Chuck and I took a lot of pictures which will be listed below in the categories of Games 1, 2, 3 and 4 and hopefully you, dear listener will find them interesting to browse through. I also want to state for the record that there was some microphone issues during the discussion of our final game which is unfortunate but hopefully wont detract too much from the show.

Game 2: The Baggage Train

Chuck makes his way to my Spear Chukkah!

Finally chop up the 1st cart as my Boar Boy drops the beasts on the rear.

The middle cart making its run for it.

The middle cart gets away leaving the Orcs celebrating.

Game 3: Storm the Barricades!

Deployment

First turn moves.

Some Wolf Riders get shot down as Chuck finishes the wall..

The rest of Chucks troops arrive as I hit the wall.

My general dies, but 1/2 of Chucks army flees!

A Wolf Rider dies on the wall.

Chuck working furiously on that 2nd set of barricades.


Another Swordsmen flees as Chuck breaks.

Game 4: The Big Game!

Episode #70: Warhammer Battlefields: Border Wars

Hello everyone!
In this months Episode we discuss one of the newest of Games Workshops campaign supplements that came to us in the form of an iBook. I'm joined for this series of episodes by another local friend Dave Dickey who hops on board to help me play out, discuss and review the campaign as we work our way through the 3 to 4 scenarios that it will consist of. Released on Aug. 3rd. for the iPad it was designed as a two player 3 game campaign for you to build a story on much like the small Ladder Campaign (Territorial Dispute) that Chuck and I played back in October of 2012 for Extra Life which came from the old Generals Compendium.

We start out with a short intro with Dave as he explains a bit of his gaming past to us before moving onto the general review. We discuss the artwork, feel, ease of use, and content of the campaign. Then we break into our discussion of our games that we played for the campaign including a small skirmish game before a full scale game. You'll find below pictures from the game as well as download links to the show itself as usual. Thanks for joining us and hopefully your looking forward to the December show and the next installment.

This is the only picture from our Skirmish gamed and was taken at the bottom of Turn 1. As there are no other shots it's hard to give perspective on the game as it went, but that red piece is a wall and the white ribbons represent rivers. The chariot bases are fences. Listen to the show and you'll get some perspective on this game, but the Skaven won!

The initial setup with the scattered armies due to Scenario Special Rules. You can really see here how jacked up it was.

Halfway through Turn 1 after my reinforcements had come on and the Rat Ogres were fleeing at this point. Also note the tiny unit of Stormvermin. I will simply refer to this henceforth as the Greyseer Calamity of 2013.

Bottom of 1 when the Ogres were chased from the table and the Skullcannon popped to the Slaves upon which they reformed.

Bottom of Turn 2 as Dave reforms his Bloodletters deep instead of wide. What will turn out to be a likely tactical error later in the game.

Dave positions for the WLC as his BSB takes cover behind the ill-fated building int he center.

Beginning of the end, the Doomwheel takes off the BSB and the Slaves hit the Bloodletters while Dave pops the Slaves them and the Doomflayer did some good damage on the way in.

Thirster takes out the WLC as the Skullcrushers run from the Gutters and the Abom readies for extermination of the Letters.

Game is essentially over now. The Thirster made his charge to the Stormvermin who fled and the Doomwheel hit his rear and blew him up. The Abom does what he does with the Letters and we call the game a win for the Skaven.

Episode #69: The Grudge of Drong Pt. 4

Howdy Everybody,

So here we are after 4 months, the conclusion and wrap-up of our coverage of the old box campaign 'The Grudge of Drong!' how exciting it is! Below you'll find the battle report pictures along with the show listed at the bottom so check 'em out and we hope you enjoy it.

Bottom of turn 1 after Ryan's first movement phase.

Ryans Sea Guard hit the Thunderers in woods and Stone Thrower crushes some White Lions.

Spear Elves ambush and for me into action while the Eagles move along killing more machines.

I declare a load of charges to get away, somehow the Longbeards right in front of the Spears fail an easy charge.

Ryans Reavers hit the Thundereres in the woods in support. He get's a big dual charge on the Beards and offs them, the Hammerers finish the White Lions and ready to turn tail.

Ryan having smoked most of my army at this point turns for the kill.

I flee every charge he declares preserving points and although there's no picture to show it those warriors on the left side do make the long charge and kill that Bolt Thrower.

Howdy Everybody,

Once more into the breach! Ryan and I cover our 3rd scenario in The Grudge of Drong series and all that occurred during it. I think that to date this was probably the best scenario we've played out of that book as far as tactics and fun gameplay are concerned. Afterwards we talk about a recent tournament and some upcoming ones if your going to be in the area of Bloomington, so be sure to give us a listen! Ryan charges the Dwarfs who break the Spears off the flank.

Things are going well; but this is the turning point where I got greedy.

Bogged down and in trouble.

Ryan breaks through and I still can't kill the Sea Guard.

The Slayers dead, Ryan gets the flank of my center Warriors and the Swordmasters turn to assist Sea Guard.

Everything's falling apart! Why!?

Game... I screwed the pooch.

Hey everyone,

I'm glad you're reading this post because I get to gladly announce that we're restarting the show although in a much more limited capacity than what you were previously used to. The astout observor will have noticed that we've re-posted the iTunes button and Podcast RSS feeds on the website as well as have been re-listed on iTunes. It gives me a lot of pleasure to kick the show back off, but in a completely different direction. Instead of spioling it completely we'll let you listen to the show which should explain pretty much everything you'll either need or want to know about whats going on.

In this episode we discuss the Mini Narrative 'Tree Campaign' from the Generals Compendium that Chuck and I played back in October of 2012. As opposed to re-posting all of the infromation that we've mostly already gone over in previous blog posts I'll simply add some links below here to let you go and see the infromation yoursevles.

I also want to apologize; apparently after two years I forgot a number of rules of recording etiquette and you'll hear quite a few bumps on the table and small noises in the background of this show. Hopefully it doesn't throw you out too much.
