When the 2008 campaign began ramping up, we switched gears, but there is still plenty of reason to tell the truth about Bush-because John McCain is more or less a Bush clone.

The Democratic National Convention of 2004 is the first time Obama ascended the national stage. Anyone could see that he was a rising star, and the Station Agent pointed out that Obama had the goods. It turns out the Station Agent has great political instincts.

I have never actively worked for a candidate in my 52 years, until Obama. What's up with that? What say you, John McCain?

By this time next year, I will have my Ph.D, after being poor all of my adult life. I'm not boasting, I'm just trying to figure what McCain would make of it.

I guess McCain could say that I'm just one of those stupid educated people.

Obama is not claiming anything in regard to the importance of regarding veterans, so McCain's point is deliberately misleading, at least off topic, and in either case, completely cynical. On the other hand, Obama probably feels that he needs to support the troops precisely because he did not serve, and at the very least, is supporting them.

McCain is not. If you do not see this, I'm sorry, I believe either that A) You are one of the less educated that everyone knows supports McCain more than Obama, or B) You chuck your intelligence out the window when it comes to political discernment. I beg you to read everything above once more if you disagree. Anyway, the staff at The Walrus Speaks is counting on you falling into the B category, for we like to give all Americans the benefit of the doubt.

I just opened my email, and what do you know, it's from the VP of VoteVets.org, Iraq and Afghanistan War Veteran Brandon Friedman. He writes,

The Republicans have really shot themselves in the foot by anointing Sarah Palin as their new Messiah, because they have painted themselves into a corner. That's three metaphors in one sentence--I'm on a roll (that makes it four). There is something about politics that inspires symbolic vocabulary, and that's not my fault!

However, there are a pair of sweet old octogenarian ladies that call her a bitch, stupid, and--Phil Graham would love this one--a whiner.
