This masterpiece is anything but an ordinary clock. Built with looks that would distract people from the time and rather make them follow the smooth curves on this clock, this time piece remains true to its name The Milky Way Clock.

The minimalistic and utilitarian designs that is mastered and people world love, is prominent in this clock. The white color would signify the “Milky” and the manner in which the form of the clock elegantly twines about would be the reason why the creator has linked this piece of art to the Milky Way Galaxy.

Henrik has described the shape as one that depicts the duality and unity of the sleep/wake cycle, with the clock having three faces. Each face is lit using OLED’s (probably).

An alarm is put into snooze mode by turning the clock over and another turn would allow the user to set the alarm and time. This is probably done using gyroscopes as in iPhones and iTouches and numerous other devices.

Step aside boring old clocks because works of art like the Milky Way Clock are storming in and making a place in our heart and bed side table

Milky Way Clock Is Truely A Stellar Make

When someone says cardboard, the first thing that comes to your mind is a rectangular white sheet of something a little thicker than paper but obviously Chris Gilmour has a very different take on cardboard as he illustrates through these amazing sculptures.

All his works are life-size and are made completely out of cardboard, with a level of  attention to detail that will blow you away. The fact that he’s taken something that has been stereotyped to being very geometric and turned it on its head just accentuates the amazing skill and patience it has taken him to produce these masterpieces. Oh yes coming back to the attention to detail; the detailing on these sculptures is so high that it could even give a computer graphics designer a run for his money. The chain and the spokes on the cycle look really cool and are worth a closer look.

His collection includes everything from Moka to vintage Ashton Martins and even contain a trike, which I feel looks the best)…Just hope that he keeps up the good work and produces sculptures that continue to make jaws drop.

Good Old Cardboard Art In A Whole New Light

We all love Swarovski, and so this 3G crystal iPhone 3G Faceplate case is certainly eye-candy stuff for us and for those who love a little ‘bling’ in their life. These crystal cases are quite convenient to use, too, as you can attach the plates to your phone and take them off in a blink.

The cases by Crystal Cases are fabricated with 100% Swarovski crystals; with designs including light rose and crystal clear AB on either side in one, crystal AB alone in another, and Crystal Jet Squares in an alternate version. The size of the crystals, we hear, is 12ss (we wouldn’t know what it exactly means, though!).

Some of you might be deceived into believing that the ‘Flip Flop’ or the ‘Heart’ is just a flat embellishment. This actually is the best part about the case, since the cute little sandals and the appealing heart structure are fixed to the faceplate and offer a 3D effect. Apparently, these designs can also be applied to other phones as well. If you do not own an iPhone, well, that’s some great news! The Swarovski case costs between $135 and $175 (we aren’t surprised), but if you seek economy, you could probably design it yourself. Seems simple, ain’t it?

Swarovski Crystal iPhone Cases Ups The Bling Factor

Snow festivals are held every year in February in the town of Hokkaido in Japan, and this Space Invader Alien Sculpture was found standing tall by Jbernhardt at the Annual Sapporo and Otaru Snow Festival 2008. Isn’t it amazing that retro gaming icons are finding place in culture of the country where they originated from? Of course Japan is a land of geek culture but yet it seems intriguing that artists should be inspired by Space Invader Alien to sculpt it in snow for an annual festival.

It is not known what exact statement artist intended to make by sculpting this huge alien who is shot down mercilessly in the Space Invader game. But aliens and characters from virtual world are indeed invading our consciousness.

They are engaging us in the virtual world with tricky geeky games and are invading our homes as various product designs. Virtual has become more real than ever before. These retro gaming characters began it all and no doubt they are inspiring artists, sculptors and claiming their rightful place in the cultural milieu.

Tetris Lamp Is A Glowing Tribute To The Blocks Game

If I was to speak of a plush Chess Set, what exactly would run through your mind: Crystal horses, a Queen donning rubies or a shiny Gold crowned King? Well, the Unique Chess from retailers of Luxury stuff and has a different opinion on the idea of class apart Luxury. They came up with the idea of concave spaces on the board and chess pieces that can wobble.
