Day Trip in Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort (March 16, 2019)

It's officially summer in the Philippines!

Me and my colleagues finally found a place where to spend our long overdue vacation trip. Due to our busy work schedules, we decided to book a day trip to Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort. It is known as Maldives of Batangas, situated in Barangay Sta. Ana Calatagan Batangas.

Here's my review of our stay in Stilts.

RESERVATION

Day trip is from 8 AM to 5 PM. The resort allows walk-ins but I suggest to book online even it's only for a day trip. I booked ours through email. Entrance for day tour is Php 500 per person. We booked an open hut beachfront cottage for Php 1,250. It has a locker so you don't have to worry where to put your valuables. There's also an electric fan and a socket. 😉 The resort is huge. Day tours are separated from overnight and camping trips.

ARRIVAL

Upon arrival, we were asked to pay for an environmental fee, Php 30, each. There are welcome drinks too!

FOOD

It's allowed to bring food inside but you have to pay Php 200 each for corkage fee. It's consumable so no worries for that. We didn't have much time to prepare so we just ordered in their restaurant. We ordered adobo and tulingan (I forgot the names in the menu. haha). Their food is reasonably priced. Sooo gooood! I swear. You can also ask them to serve the food in your cottage.

AMENITIES

We just wanted to relax and chill so we only used the pool and the beach. They offer lots of activities. You may check it in their website. https://www.stiltscalataganbeachresort.net/explore/activity-rates

As what I've expected, the beach is not that clear. I did not expect that much since that's what I've also heard from my friends who already went there. There's no jellyfish around so it's fine for us.

TRANSPORTATION

If you're from Lipa City, you can ride a van in SM Lipa City Terminal bound to Balayan, Batangas. One of my colleagues is from Batangas City so we decided to drop in Batangas Terminal first.

Travel time is roughly around 2-3 hours from Batangas City Terminal.

From Batangas Terminal, there are also vans bound to Balayan, Batangas for Php 80 each. Jusk ask them to drop you in Walter Mart, Balayan. From there, ride a jeepney bound to Calatagan, Batangas. It costs Php 45 each. Ask the driver to drop you in Calatagan Public Market. From there, there are tricycles bound to the resort for Php 200/ride.

If you want to go directly to the resort, you can just ride a tricycle from Balayan Batangas but it costs Php 600/ride.

Upon checkout, just ask them to call a tricycle for you. But I suggest to leave the resort at 3 pm because jeepneys from Calatagan Batangas bound to Balayan Batangas leaves at 4 pm. If you miss it, you have to ride a tricycle worth Php 500. (That's what happened to us haha). Just do the same, tell them to drop you in Waltermart Balayan. There are vans bound to SM Lipa City, Batangas City Terminal and Lemery. Last trip is 5-6 pm.

It's better to rent a private vehicle if you'll go for a day trip. For commuters, just be on time. always. 😊

MY EXPERIENCE

My overall experience in Stilts was great. They were 100% responsive to my inquiries. I had a smooth transaction with them upon reservation. The staff were very welcoming too. I'd also like to commend their tight security upon arrival so no worries during our stay there.
