Planning a wedding is a lot of fun. It also takes a lot of time, and there are a ton of decisions to make. Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event - make sure you do enjoy it! Don't get stressed!

Here are a few tips:

Either hire a professional wedding planner or delegate everything! You're the bride and groom - this is all in your honor. Your friends and family will love giving you the best they can and sharing your happiness.
Pick up a good "how-to" book, such as Wedding Planner Tips to get ideas and know what what needs to be done.
Meet with your planners once a week to make decisions, so that you get what you want. Have all the information in front of you, so that you're comfortable in knowing the wedding plan is covering everything.
Make a wedding budget and stick to it. That way, you can relax about the cost.
Brides! Finish your to-do list a week before your wedding. Make sure your wedding dress is ready by then, and that you have scheduled your beauty appointments. Have your undergarments ready. You don't want to find that seams mar your smooth wedding dress, or that the straps show, as you're getting dressed on the day of your wedding.
Have your wedding vows written a week before the wedding - you can always tweak them if you want to during that last week. You don't want to panic over the vows in the last days before the wedding.
Spend that last week calmly preparing yourself, inside and out. Spend time with friends, family and visiting relatives.
Keep emergency supplies handy - safety pins, extra hair pins, breath mints, shoe cleaner. Have your maid of honor hold on to the emergency supplies for you.
And most importantly - accept the way things turn out when the big event is happening. Plan what you can, and accept the things you can't control. The important thing is that you are marrying the one you love and preparing for a lifetime together. Nothing else is important!
