Oh What A Night!

Ok. I have a story. SO. It was my USY Senior Fairwell/Installations. (for those of you who do not know what USY is go to http://www.usy.org ) ANYWAYS, so it was a bright and sunny day, about 75 outside. We go in the buliding start the ceremony and then it started to rain. Very badly. Just as the ceremony was ending and people were going home.

As the first peroson was heading out the door, the torando sirens went off. So the Rabbis rushed everyone into the downstairs of the synagouge. The problem is that my 87 year old grandfather was in a wheelchair. So naturally we put him in the chairlift. We started it up and half way down it got stuck, shut off and broke down. This is all while it is storming AND torando sirens are going off.

We could not get the doors open to even lift him out. 20 minuntes go by. No luck, my poor grandfather who has dimensia is just sitting there stuck in a chairlift. We eventauly had to call 911. The fire department came and pryed the doors open, lifted him and his wheelchair out. (Thank you Columbus Fire Deparment) after he was out we went home, where the power was out.

Got him settled and continued to my house. Where we see a tree limb had fallen. The lights came on an hour later. If this day could not get anymore hetic, on my way home from lunch, this lady stopped very short in front of me, and I accendly tapped her car. Noticed I said tapped, and not hit. Stupid lady who happened to have a mercades-benz, HAD to call the police, so I got a $160.00 ticket. THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE DENT ON HER CAR! And this lady also lives in my neighboor hood. So that was my day. Just thought I would share.

Dear Obama & Biden, Support Israel But Stay Out Of Their Business

United States Vice President, Joe Biden recently visited Israel. On his trip, he said he wanted resume peace talks, OK fine. But then Israel had started to build settlements in the west bank. Which is supposedly "not their land" (yet IT IS in THEIR Country, weird right!) So he got all upset that Israel was doing this. Also, last April he said that it would be "ill advised" to launch an airstike against Iran. Last time I checked Israel which is less than 6 million in population, could fit in lake Michigan, and is the size of new jersey has won almost every war. Including a war that was started on the holiest holiday in Judaism, Yom Kippur, they gathered up the soldiers in less the 24 hours and fought off the armed forces of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Libya, & Kuwait. Together. One Vs. 8. And Israel prevailed and got land back. So yes, Israel should be able to do what they want without the US Government interfering.

Blame Canada!

Sure, The US Olympic Hockey team lost, no BARELY lost to Team Canada. We forced the game to go into over time with less then one minute to go. And we also beat them in the first game. So all of these groups have started to pop up on Facebook, bearing the titles such as "TEAM USA SUCKS" "USA WE CANNOT HEAR YOU OVER ALL OF OUR GOLD MEDALS" "MILLER IS A IDIOT" "USA SUCKS" and so on. Last time I checked Canada was supposed to be our friendly neighbor. At least that's what everyone in the Olympics has said. They call us Americans "rednecks" which i do not see how, considering i live in the 15th largest city in the US, and home to their favorite companies (see my post Columbus, Ohio: It's Better Then You Think") So before you diss my country, and my Military, know that USA is friends with Canada. But we are better then you.

My Take On The Opening Ceremonies At The 2010 Winter Olympics

The Opening Ceremonies. A time for our world to come together in the great games, and forget about the wars and the problems. Well thanks to the NBC Announcer, who shall rename nameless (well because i cannot think of his name right now) says this "Only one letter separates Israel From Iran. India. Really? Israel has been attacked by iran constantly with threats, and all the Israeli athletes want to do is just have fun. So thanks for that. Anyways... Comapring the 2010 Opening to the 2008 one in China, Vancouver did a good job, but didn't even come close. In china it was just jaw-dropping, Canada, it was "good" Just goes to show that when China has an extra 100 Million bucks, they know their Olympics. But Props to my country's neighbor.

The Torch Fail, was a disspointment, but it was cool to see Steve Nash, Wayne Grezky, among other to carry the flame.

And That Is my take.

Good, but could have been much better.

As you remember, last year, January 15th, to be exact US AIRWAYS Flight 1549 made an emergency landing in the Hudson River. Captain Chelsea "Sully" Sullenberg was the hero pilot saving all 150 lives on board the Airbus A320. The plane is now up for bids. Although, I do not thing the wings are included.

A Jewish teen was questioned on the airplane for having teffilin-(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tefillin), set of small boxes containing biblical passages that are attached to leather straps. A passenger thought it was a bomb, so they aborted take off. The teen explained the ritual after being questioned by crew members of the flight, which had left LaGuardia Airport around 7:30 a.m. and was operated by Chautauqua Airlines, authorities said.

Officials with the airline, however, said crew members "did not receive a clear response" when they talked with the teen, according to a statement issued by Republic Airways, which owns Chautauqua. The airplane made an emergency landing in Philadelphia.

Really? Coast Guard...Really?

Today, the 8th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the US Coast Guard launched a "drill" in the Potomac river, which is right in the heart of Washington DC. They launched pretend "shots" and had boats block off a section of the river. With this happening, and on 9/11/09, CNN immediately picked up on it stating "COAST GUARD PATROL IN THE POTOMAC" or something like that... of course they didn't tell local law enforcement or even Sec. of security Robert Gibbs. if your going to have a terrorists drill...Don't do it on Sept. 11th and Don't do it in Washington DC.

Columbus Radio; You Really Have Let Me Down

Just only two weeks ago, Columbus market radio was fine, not great; but bearable. Last week our mix music station Dispatch Broadcasting Group Owned-MIX 97.1 WBNS Radio. This has been switched to simulated broadcast with their AM radio station, 1460 THE FAN. So Now 97.1 Is Sports Radio. The MIX Music has been moved to a station that used to play oldies called WODB B-107.9, based out of Delaware. Before it played oldies, it just played 80s music, then before that it played Top 40 80s music, from 1998-2001. It was the first all 80s radio station in the United States. 97.1 used to be an all oldies station, until it switched which caused 107.9 to switch from 80s, to all oldies, Columbus had lost its all 80s station, the first in the Untied States.

So now we have no oldies station, except the kind-of 93.3 lite FM.

So Columbus, radio you have let me down.

A few years ago, there was this great new radio station called 103.9 TED FM, which played everything from the 60s to now. Overnight it became a talk radio station, in 2007.

Pepsi has changed it's logo. The first time for a while, and the first drastic change ever. Along witht the logo change, Mountain Dew, is not Mtn Dew. As well as a re-designed Sierra Mist can.

In my view, i think the new logo is awful, and it will NOT last. A company that big, cannot just change its logo, after its been the same, for over 40 years. And nothing is new is happeneing to the PepsiCo (i.e a merger, new brands, etc)

Also, DIET PEPSI MAX, is now just PEPSI MAX

As I am working at Conrads (you all probably know what that is) on a day of a football game, in the far distance i see a big semi truck come down with the most gruesome picture i have ever seen. A dead person in a car accident? NO. Vomit? NO. Poop? NO. AN ABORTED FETUS! That's right my friends the folks at The Center For Bio-Ethical reform have put huge signs on trucks that show a picture of an aborted fetus, they go from city-to-city, state-to-state. The first thing you see when you go on their website is an aborted fetus being pull out from the womb. Blood and everything.

As I walk down the hallways at Gahanna Lincoln High School, i see some students with shirts that make me raise my eye brows. No not even the shirts that are tight, and low cut (although we do have a problem with those) or ever the extra large t-shirt on a kid that could wear a medium (know to some as "white tee's") But what I'm talking about is the outlandish statements and graphics on these shirts.

About a few weeks ago, i clicked on the group on facebook "facebook please delete the group Israel is not a country" there were so many Arabs who hated Jews. They claimed that the group was not anti-Semitic. yea right.

Israel rightfully owns that land. Britain gave it to us. We (The JNF) Bought it. It's OUR HOMELAND.

But those Arabs who are brainwashed dont know anything and our very anti-Semitic.

Nationwide's Paint Ad-Columbus, Ohio

On the old Atlas Building in Downtown Columbus, Ohio, is this amazing ad for Nationwide Insurance, which is base just across the street. The cars you see are actually real. As for the paint, it's real paint. One of my favorite ads-ever! and right in my hometown! Amazing job! You can also see the ad from I-670.

It's A Bird! It's A Plane! It's Frisch's Big Boy!

Imagine walking into school when you look up and see a 7ft fiberglass "Big Boy" staring down right at you. That happened to me (almost) today. Apparently , some juniors from my high school, Gahanna Lincoln, un-bolted the 300-1200 lbs. "Big Boy" from a near by Frisch's and hoisted it up onto the roof. Pure Genius. It was returned to the restaurant after the Gahanna Police got involved.

My school, Gahanna Lincoln High School is doing the musical of "Fiddler On The Roof." And i am doing one of the spot lights for the play. So last night, May 10th, 2007 around 7:00 PM i go into the light booth. Next to the main computer i see a plate of sugar cookies and a card. So i open up the card, just the usually "thank you" and "we couldn't have done it without you" stuff. But what caught my eye was the closing:

(the persons name)

I was a little shocked by what i just read, i mean we were doing a JEWISH play. But still, Jesus Christ? i mean they were Jews (including myself) on Cast AND Crew. I told my other Jewish friends who were on cast and crew, and they too were shocked.

This just goes to show that Jews are out there too
