It's been quiet...

On my site that is!
Since April it’s pretty much been due to health issues but apart from that I have no excuses other than I don’t really know what to write here :P

Was playing with setting up a new place for the Edinburgh Wild Geese Sangha site (maintenance was a favor for my Dad) so I don’t have to be asked to edit it and then wait for someone else to upload stuff.

Thus the wordpress site was created!

I think the re-direct from the old to new is still being sorted.

But, can’t worry about that now, I have a London party to go to tomorrow!

Testing and Twitter being a pain in the ass

So this is me testing if this posts a link to twitter when I add a new post.

This is also me going AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH at Twitter being a pain in the ass at communicating with 3rd party apps. The kml_twitter textpattern plugin i’ve been using for ages suddenly stopped working today.
After tweeting about this hiccup it turns out that multiple people have had the same issues.

It also comes at a time when they still haven’t fixed a rather massive security problem and getting round this mostly involves…. yup, using third party apps!!

Needless to say that I’m pissed of that A) They’ve been around this long and still have holes this big in their security and that B) Despite their user base blatantly increasing, they still can’t give us a smooth service, sometimes even breaking the sites that use the twitter output.

Work + Time + Brain = buh?

I got through a lot of reports today, trying to get ahead for when I FLEE on holiday to Malta for a week.

Well, it’s not perfect by any means, but I’ve made the TOTW page live with the twitter output going through Yahoo pipes.

It SHOULD spit out pictures that have been tagged, links to last FM stuff that I’ve clicked the “love” button on and links to things that are funny/cute etc but aren’t pictures :P I’ll try and do that for pics that will break the page.

My Eee PC squeezes the columns together too much so the pics usually get pushed down the page but most screens should be ok with it…. fingers crossed!

Yahoo pipes and stuffs

So, been playing more with yahoo pipes, but not with my own.
Still can’t get my experimental page to keep the history of the rss output from my filtered tweets.
Still, bought some shiny anime, including Karas, so shall be distracted by that for the rest of the day.

Lazy/busyness

Can that happen? I guess it does! I’m sure I’ll update this summore when I have time to breath. My lack of knowledge in php is hindering my mini projects somewhat, but I’ll get there… I hope.
