I recently received these gorgeous photos from my friends at Bell Studio and to be honest the first thing I thought was, WOW! what a gorgeous styled shoot!

However the more I looked and the more I read from the bride herself I realised that I was completely mistaken and that these were in fact photos from a real wedding!

The attention to detail in this wedding is amazing, from the combie van to the hippie cupcakes and the fact that both the bride and groom look like models you can see how I was confused.

Hanna, the bride, tells us that when she first met Thomas it wasn’t in any way romantic at all. “Thomas is a musician and is on concert tours throughout Europe a lot of the time. We met at one of those concerts that Thomas was playing at and introduced ourselves three times that night.” Hanna jokes that it showed that it wasn’t a very memorable affair.

They didn’t particularly like each other with Hanna thinking that Thomas was quite rebellious and conceited and Thomas thinking that Hanna was a little stuck up.

Despite the fact that they picked on each other the whole night, Thomas invited Hanna to a summer music festival a few weeks later and she accepted. When she arrived she realised that it was a hippy music festival with tents, caravans, mud and dirt. “We had a great time together and on returning from the festival we started dating and were inseparable from then on.”

It was only fitting that their wedding day be a true reflection of their personalities. Their gorgeous day was organised by their friends, who naturally combined it with one of the greatest music festivals in Europe, Sziget Festival in Budapest.

They pitched their tents next to the forest and went about having a beautiful hippie style wedding. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy.

So for those of you who have been hiding under a rock JT and Jessica Biel were married recently in a romantic Italian ceremony at the Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia, Italy.

Jessica looked ever so much the blushing bride in her custom made Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown – shunning traditional white or ivory for a beautiful petal pink colour.

Justin oozed cool in his Tom Ford tuxedo and showed he is literally jumping for joy in the couples first press picture in People magazine.

So what are your thoughts on Jessica’s pink gown? She isn’t the first celeb to ditch tradition with the likes of Gwen Stefani, Anne Hathaway and Reese Witherspoon all opting for the blush hues.

A few months ago we did a light installation for one of the cutest couples ever! We had the privilege of installing our lights in one of Brisbanes first creative spaces, The School of Arts in Ann St which is now better known as Bleeding Heart.

Our clients wanted to showcase the entrance by uplighting the two beautiful trees at the front of the building as well as having a canopy of warm white festoon lights hung in the void above their reception area.

At the beginning of the year I was contacted by a client who wanted to use our manzanita branches for her woodlands themed wedding. Getting married at the gorgeous Tamborine Gardens Wedding Resort on top of Mt Tamborine the woodlands theme fit perfectly into the surrounds of the resort.

We came up with a design using height, texture and colour, creating a magical look and feel and fulfilling my clients brief. Using bella roses, white roses, snapdragons and geraldton wax, our gorgeous florist, Lillipollen created a magical base to start, placing the manzanita branches in the centre, covering with moss and finishing off with hanging tea light jars, the result as you can see was absolutely stunning.

You have to admit that the first thing you look at for making an impression when at a wedding reception, is the dining tables.  There are many different things that work together to give the overall effect that you want when decorating your reception venue….but probably one of the most important is the table linen.

As much as I love the whole white on white look at a wedding (I mean, seriously, could you get any classier?), I also love how adding some colour totally changes the look and feel of a wedding reception.

You can be as bold or as subtle as you like – with red and teal, or even stripes to beige and dusky pinks. Perhaps even adding some sparkle for a glamorous effect!

A few weeks ago I styled an Oscars after party 40th birthday lolly buffet. My client wanted glitz, glamour and Hollywood, so I went to town creating a stylish lolly buffet incorporating all the razzle and dazzle of a Hollywood party including giant martini glasses!

My colour palette was red, black and gold. I’ll let you be the judge of how it turned out. I personally loved it!

My life for the past few months has been an absolute whirlwind. Whilst still working hard for all of my clients styling and decorating their beautiful weddings and events, I have been spending all of my spare time head down and bum up at my computer designing, compiling, styling and editing my new baby, Eco Brides Magazine.

Born out of a passing conversation with my gorgeous gal pal Fo Carson from Moss Green Images, Eco Brides Magazine has finally come to life in a beautiful online format (being the most eco friendly way we could think of publishing!)

Our vision for this publication was to have an informative and inspirational tool as well as some stunning eye candy for brides and grooms looking for an eco alternative to planning their weddings. We have also discovered along the way the hundreds of eco wedding vendors out there that need a platform and voice to share their wonderful products and services.

Whilst both Fo and I live in Brisbane, Australia we want to share this with the world! So whether it be up cycling, recycling, carbon neutral, eco conscious, sustainable materials, organic, local produce or eco beauty products you will find it all in the mag!

The industrial look has been a popular choice in interior decorating circles for a while now. We are starting to see it emerge into our wedding styling with a lot of enquiries coming through for light installations using our cafe/festoon lights and industrial bulbs.

We have created light installation pieces for two brides over the past two weeks, one who was having a vintage circus theme and the other who was being married at the iconic Brisbane Power House and wanted to compliment the space with an industrial light feature.

Whilst we await professional photos from both of these weddings, I thought it would be a great opportunity to showcase some inspirational industrial light pieces that you may like to include on your wedding day or even at your next event.
