The annual hot air balloon festival in remote Montague, CA is an event I've been attending since we moved to Southern Oregon in 2004. I find it difficult to photograph Crater Lake in a way that hasn't been done already. Its rare when an image expresses a new take on the grandeur and deep quiet of this breathtaking National Park and being there at the right time is crucial. Knowing the weather is not a predictable thing, I enjoy searching for unique foregrounds. "Lake Tourist" is a recent result.
