Bennett does ballet

2012-11-08T14:09:00.001-08:00

Today, Bennett had his first mommy and me "ballet" class! I say "ballet" cause he doesn't do any actual dancing, more like running around the room terrorizing all the little girls. He had the best time though and the teacher was (maybe) right that he will eventually pay attention and participate in the actual class.

When everyone was sitting in a circle playing with instruments, he had to sit in the middle of the circle.

"This must go on my head"

"got it!"

Only boy at ballet

Portland

2012-10-22T17:11:00.000-07:00

Scott and I took a little weekend trip (w/out kids) to Portland, Oregon for our five year anniversary! We had a great time....

Mai Tais at Trader Vics after a long day of travel!

Dinner at Jake's, very cool place, great fish

Saturday morning run along the river and across the bridge

Ran to the farmer's market where they were cutting up a pig

farmer's market

Fried Chicken, bacon, egg, cheese and gravy in between two fresh baked biscuits! Doesn't sound good but it was!

Scott thought it sounded so gross he didn't order one then ate half of mine

Our next stop was the famous Vodoo Donuts (yes, to eat again)

We had to try some of the crazy donuts

Thai food, not my favorite but it was supposed to be really good, I can say it was VERY HOT, notice they give you a plate of ice!!

Space Mountain (entrance to a roof top bar)

Toddling

2012-10-18T16:25:00.001-07:00

It's been awhile so this might be a long one....

Bennett is now almost 13 months old and walking! Rachel is 3 years old and has started preschool!

Bennett is "toddling" all over the house these days, he took his first couple steps ON his birthday. I guess this means he is no longer a baby and is now a toddler.

You can also view this video and more on my you tube page:

Jen's You Tube

Rachel has been in preschool for four weeks now and is warming up to it. If her school photos are any indication of how she feels about school well.....

Every morning she tells me "I didn't wanna go to school" which means I DON'T want to go to school. But, as soon as we get there and she sees her friends and teachers I can tell she is happy even though she tries to hide her smile (gotta keep up the illusion of unhappiness about school, DRAMA QUEEN). When I pick her up she says she likes her teachers, friends and has so much fun at school but when I ask if she wants to go back tomorrow it's a very adamant "NO!" I don't know if I will ever figure this girl out! :)

Hopefully she is more excited about Halloween, she is going to be a cowgirl! We tried her costume on today and she said, "It's tute" (cute). I agree!

"eeeeee AAAAAA" that's what she says when riding the "horse" cause she thinks it's a donkey

It can be near impossible to get a picture of these two together but I keep trying....

Bennett Michael Witeby has arrived

2011-11-16T08:10:00.000-08:00

Bennett was born on September 21, 2011 at 10:56am. He weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and was 19 in long, he sounded just like his sister but looked a lot like Daddy! He was a very happy and hungry little guy. His big sister came to visit him at the hospital the day he was born and wasn't really sure what to think. She has loved him from the start and has been a great big sis, bringing him diapers and vaseline and pacifiers whenever he cries.
We feel like a whole family now with our little addition and are so lucky to have the most wonderful kids!

Early in the morning, leaving for the hospital, our last family picture without baby Bennett

Dad's all suited up and ready

Ready to go....I guess.

Very first picture of Bennett, doctor said, "He's a big baby!"

Rachel is almost 23 months old which means she's almost 2!!! I don't know how that happened, it's gone by so fast. In the last few weeks she has started talking a ton and has a lot of new words or is at least TRYING to say the word. She repeats and imitates everything, if I scratch my back, she scratches hers....when I touch my big pregnant belly she rubs hers as well. She copies everything and everyone! She seems to be excited about the baby which is coming soon, she pats my belly and kisses it and says baby. I hope she is just as excited when he is out of the belly!

Today, we had a friend over and Rachel had a great time playing with her. She wanted to sit with her in the same chair and share her snacks. She was also very generous and shared all her toys and food without any complaints, this is a new side of her. My little girl is growing up, she is just the sweetest thing!
