Pat Bowlen has a tough decision to make in the next 4 weeks. Who should he hire as the new Head Coach and GM.

Gary Kubiak would be my first choice.

I just hope he doesn't go after Bob Stoops.

National Opt Out Day

2010-11-17T19:31:00.000-08:00

Airports across the country are going to nuts next week. If your traveling next week you might have deal with National Opt Out Day. The opposition is trying to send a message to law makers that Advance Imaging Technology Scanners are invasion of personal privacy. But the alternate of "opting out" to the body scanner is an enhanced pat down. Personally I don't want someone "touching my junk" to quote John Tyner. The Bottom line is that we living in a post 911 world. And the government has been force to put certain security measure in place to keep our sky and citizens safe. Yeah it sucks to deal with the agony of airport security. But if you are going to travel you are going to have to deal with these new measures.

It's almost time to shred.

OK I am Jonesing to shred some gnar. Here is some eye candy for your viewing pleasure.

Mind Bender

2010-11-14T18:19:00.000-08:00

See if you can wrap your head around this one.

Check out the below scenarios for the fight for the Big 12 Championship. Oh course I am hoping that the stars align for the OU Sooners so they can play for the Big 12 title at Jerry's World on Dec 4th. But it is going to be a tough road. But there is still a chance. Needless to say that I am hoping that Texas A&M looses at least 1 game. And OU wins the remaining 2 games.

Race for the Big 12 title

A look at the teams vying for a spot in the Big 12 title game Dec. 4 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The teams’ conference records are in parenthesis:

North

Nebraska (5-1): The Cornhuskers are closing in on the title after a 20-3 win over Kansas. Nebraska needs only to win one of its final two games to clinch the North crown. The Huskers own the tiebreaker over Missouri by virtue of their 31-17 win Oct. 30 over the Tigers.

Remaining schedule: at Texas A&M (Saturday), home vs. Colorado (Nov. 26).

Missouri (4-2): The Tigers’ North hopes are fading, despite a 38-28 win Saturday over Kansas State. To win the North title, Missouri must win out and hope Nebraska loses its last two games.

Remaining schedule: at Iowa State (Saturday); vs. Kansas (Nov. 27) at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

South

Oklahoma State (5-1): The Cowboys are alone atop the South after cruising past Texas, and OSU is the only team that controls its destiny.

If OSU beats Oklahoma in the final game of the season, the Cowboys are South champs. OSU can clinch the South on Saturday if it beats Kansas and both Oklahoma and Texas A&M lose.

Remaining schedule: at Kansas (Saturday); home vs. Oklahoma (Nov. 27).

Oklahoma (4-2): OU remains in the race after a rout of Texas Tech. If OU wins its final two games, and Texas A&M loses once, OU is South champion. OU also could

win the South via tiebreaker in this scenario: The Sooners win their final two games, Texas A&M wins its final two games, and OSU beats Kansas but loses to OU.

That would create a three-way tie with OU, Texas A&M and OSU. The tiebreaker would be BCS standings. The top team would be champion, unless two teams are side-by-side in the standings.

In that case, the head-to-head winner between those two teams is South champion.

Remaining schedule: at Baylor (Saturday); at Oklahoma State (Nov. 27).

Texas A&M (4-2): The Aggies stayed alive with a road win over Baylor, but they need help.

A&M can win the South title by sweeping its final two games and having OSU lose its final two. If A&M, OU and OSU finish in a three-way tie (via the scenario described above), the tiebreaker would be BCS standings (see above).

Remaining schedule: home vs. Nebraska (Saturday); at Texas (Nov. 25).

Here's to a BIG NBA season

Mumford and Sons

2010-11-08T17:31:00.000-08:00

If you haven't heard of these lads from other side of the pond you need to check them out tonight! Mumford and Sons released their debut album Sigh No More in February 2010 in the U.S. They are currently finishg up the last leg of their US and Canada Tours. The band sold out all of their shows on this tour. I saw them at the Ogden Theater in Denver a couple of weeks ago. One word: AMAZING!. The show was one of the best of I seen in years. These boys put the rock in Folk Rock.

Bye bye Cotton Top. Is Jerry next?

2010-11-08T14:52:00.000-08:00

Jerry's World is a buzz with the firing of Wade Phillips this afternoon. When is Jerry Jones going to figure out that the only way the Cowboys are going to win a Super Bowl is if he fires himself.

How about it Jerry?

I am sure there are hundreds of guys out there that will listen to every word that you say ... as long as you pay them enough.

P.S. Jason Garrett is not the answer. Go talk to Chuckie aka Jon Gruden but I guarantee he won't take the job if you are the GM.

This is a fun one. Happy Sunday.

Bad new Good news

2010-11-06T20:41:00.000-07:00

Well the Sooners lost toningt 19-33 to the Aggies. Boo! The Sooners continue to struggle on the road. Landry Jones went 36 for 59. Bob Stoops is going to have to draw up some better plays.

The good new of the sports weekend is the that the Broncos have bye this week. So they cant loose tomorrow. I know that might be a defeatist attitude, but sometimes you just have to look on the bright side.

My teams are giving me no respect this year no respect.

Gig this.

Throw me a Bone

2006-04-19T13:21:00.000-07:00

I am thinking about getting an ipod nano. Against my better judgment I am stepping over to the dark side. I thought sense I am some liberal, I should follow the trend of all the other lemmings. No not really. I am just tired of not being about to download pod cast from the internet. Anyways I need your help. I am going to order my ipod from apple, and they engrave the back of the ipod for you. But being unoriginal I have no idea what I would put. I was thinking something like “I love kittens” or “Damm the Man, Save the Empire”
But I am sure someone can come up with something better. So if you will do me a favor and leave your suggestions as a comment.

Miller's Response

2006-04-17T15:39:00.000-07:00

Most of you know that I a huge of Donald Miller. Ok I’ll be truthful here I am kinda of obsessed. I would read the Funday Sunnies if he wrote them. So a couple of months ago I asked Miller a question on his fan site. I was not sure if I would get an answer not, but I did. Below is my question and his response.
At the time I submitted this question I was really questioning if it what the happy medidum of evanglism was in the State. I think so many times as a church we try to throw a prepackage form of Christianity in poeples face. And most of the time they reject it.
In Miller’s response: Thirteen Paradigm Shifts, he does a great job of explain how we as Christians can interact and relate to non-Christians in a non threading way. I am not saying that Millers word are the final say, but he does a great job breaking this down in a way I can understand it.

Don,
I am so happy that you have created a forum like this to interact with your fans. So I have read all of your books. I think your style talks across so many borders in the Christian and non – Christian world. I have been accused by some of my friends of being a little obsessed with your books. Not obsessed I just want as people to read what you write, because I think you present the gospel in such an unique way.
I always thought if I had the opportunity to ask you a question (in person or by email) I would come up with this profound question that would result in a thoughtful profound answer from you. Well when I found out about this website I froze up. It took me a long time to think of a question to ask you. In reality after reading your books, I probably could come up with a million questions. But for now just one.
Actually it is something that I have been struggling with for a while. And after reading an interview and hearing you talk about this I think you might be the man to ask.
What is the happy medium (if any) in evangelism here in the states, specifically to non- Christians?
This has been bogging me down every since I returned from Kenya this past summer. I feel that evangelism is easy in a situation like missions, and especially in a foreign country, to people that have less than I do. But when put on a playing field like I am now “everyday life” here in the states I just can’t do it. Especially in the town that I live I see people struggling with life, and I know that if they only had the Love of Christ their life’s might be fuller. I mean I do share the love that I have, but I don’t share the news. Is that enough? I think the thing that I am afraid of here is offending someone. Giving them impression that all Christians are bible thumping legalist. How do I do this?
Well Don thank you for your time. I am looking forward to reading To Own a Dragon. I actually pulled it on my blog, as well as all of you stuff. Keep writing the mind blow material that you write so well.
Michael

Don’s response:
michael,
if you go to the resource section of www.donaldmillerwords.com there is a free file called “thirteen paradigm shifts” or something like that (click here to open this document). these are the notes from a talk i give on the subject you have inquired about, and i think you will find some interesting thoughts within. you are right about sharing faith being different stateside than it is elsewhere. we live in a unique and complicated country. hope those notes help, michael. all the best.
