The creators Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel both decided on not to “waste” money on DRM protection stating that “DRM is a futile attempt at preventing Piracy and it’s expensive. Every game for which there is demand will be cracked and find its way onto the scene, so why waste time and money trying to prevent the inevitable?”
