Once I figured out how long and wide I wanted it I was able to lay the basic frame out on my bike and use a block of wood to gauge the height I wanted.
At this point I was able to fit it to my bikes frame through existing holes in the fender to the frame beneath. Then I was able to start laying out the cross members. Once they were all welded in I decided to see how a small pack 20lbs would work/fit. It easily fit and looked good too. I'll probably add another brace down to the bolts where the blinkers attach for some added strength, but I can put a good 45lbs on it - plenty strong for a few days worth of camping!
