It’s just a small story really, about among other things: a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. . . .

Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak’s groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement before he is marched to Dachau.

This is an unforgettable story about the ability of books to feed the soul.

BOOK REVIEW

OH my! i am really nervous of making a book review for this one... wah! this book was written so beautifully, I'm afraid that I will mess it up by making a crappy review. wah! here goes nothing...

This book is hanging on my bookshelf for over than a year now. And, I decided to read, it. I know when I grabbed this book, I am up for something extraordinary, just seeing the reviews of my friends in goodreads I can say that this is not just an ordinary book... I knew from the start the it will blow me away. But that expectation didn't live up for me at first... The first page talks about death, and I have no idea at first who is narrating the story, at first I thought it would be the book thief herself and then I realized it was the Grim Reaper... and the book is about the lives of the people during the Nazi period, I myself was really clueless in this period but this book provided me enough knowledge on what the Nazi period is like, and throught reading this book sadness is very evident all throughout while I was reading it.

even though this book was reall hugely acclaimed by everyone, there were times that the book got me bored and I was thinking of skip reading it. cause at some parts I don't understand the whole point of the book , but as I read on, I appreciated the whole beauty of the book, The book made me appreciate everything around me and the whole story is like a breathe of fresh air, OH my!! this book was written so beautifuly that I have to devote all of my time reading it and knowing what will happen next, Liesel is such an interesting character, Her, being the book thief is really somethin unusual , at the Nazi period i would have stole for food, but her on the other hand she steals books... I admit that for me the whole book has a pretty simple story line, for me, a girl that reads a LOT of Young Adult Fantasy this one, pretty much, came simple for me... BUT why did I give it 5 stars you say???

Cause due to it's simplicity there is certain jolt into my system, that compelled me to read and read and read the entire book... and I daresay that i don't want the book to end. I just want to read more of Liesel, her life and her struggling ... and that to me is a book that i worth giving a 5 star rating...

Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.

As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.

In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.

BOOK REVIEW

so this would be the second book of the Revenants series, and to be totally honest I forgot some parts of the first book was, so I was a bit clueless when I was reading this , some characters I was a bit not familiar to them the only character that I remembered the most are Kate and Jules , I remembered Jules cause I was rooting him for Kate and I remember Kate cause well... she is the main character, so in other words , I forgot what the first book was all about and some parts I remember but not all of them, so I was uncertain if I should read this one, but its something about the summary that made me want to read it, even though I can be somehow confused if I read on.

Turns out when I've read this one, I recalled some of the events that occurred in the first book (THANK GOD!) and I had somehow read this one smoothly, some changes happen, like I admire Kate character progression in the book, woah! Kate giving the finger to one of the revenants was really bad ass!! woah! really caught me off guard, and I can say that she became tougher and stronger in this book than the previous one, the story line was somehow good, but in my opinion the story isn't much exciting as I thought it would be, I admire the short story of the "Immortal Love" introduced in a book, and for me, I dig more of their love story than Kate and Vincent's and well... I've guessed that who the bad guy was, I mean it's not that hard to predict that Viollette is one psycho revenant, her sugary sweetness toward Kate is not really ordinary, so I smelled something fishy about her character. hah!!! caught you there Violette. So I wasn't surprised how the whole book turn of events were.

The ending was really sad, I feel soooo Sad for Kate, poor girl. can't believe that the book ended that way. hmmm. well my guess for the next book, would be Kate looking for a remedy that happened to Vincent, or she will turn a revenant herself (is that possible)

Overall: the book was predictable but still worth reading, that's why I gave it 3 stars, I'll read the next book for sure, and I am hoping for more developed storyline... :)

Sixteen-year-old high school student Leo Borlock knows how to fit in at Mica High School. He plays the game like everyone else but is more enthralled than most when a new girl comes to school. Stargirl Caraway is her name, or at least the name she is using for now. And after 15 years of homeschooling, she is decidedly different from even the oddest high school students at Mica High. First there's her unusual name, one in a long line of odd names that she has chosen to go by, ignoring her given name of Susan. Then there's the way she looks, shunning makeup and wearing long granny dresses. But all of that is small potatoes when compared to her behavior, which is as weird and bizarre as any of the students at Mica High have ever seen.

Stargirl carries a pet rat around with her and lets it sit on her shoulder whenever she serenades her fellow students with her ukulele. She leaves cards and small gifts on students' desks and in neighborhood doorways. She somehow knows the birthdays of everyone at the school and makes a point of singing "Happy Birthday" to them in the lunchroom. She often laughs when there is no joke and dances when there is no music. She is outspoken and friendly, yet has no friends of her own. And during basketball season, when asked to join the cheerleading squad, she cheers for every basket made, regardless of which team made the score.

There's no doubt about it, Stargirl marches to the beat of an all together different drummer. At first, the other students at Mica High are suspicious of her and think she might be a plant, someone placed in the school as a spy or as part of some bizarre psychology experiment. But Stargirl's whimsical ways and optimistic spirit eventually prove to be irresistible and before long, paranoia gives way to utter fascination. And the most fascinated of all is Leo, who is falling head over heels in love with this quirky girl.

Book Review

I wasn't able to finish reading fifty shades of grey, due to its overdue kinkyness. so i decided to read this one, cause I think it is a very light and inspirational seems like this book will get my mind of fifty shades of grey....

so my thoughts...

i think the whole book is very random, it features a girl whose name is Stargirl and she is the school own kook, she has this unusual habits that everyone found to be very creepy and weird, so ok! I found stargirl a very unusual girl, but as I read on, i really don't know what this book is about, part of me admired stargirl for being bold and different, I mean I like weird people I think they are special in a way, that is hard to point out, but Stargirl, I just don't get her. part of me wants to call her a Loony, she is just so random and so hard to read. I think it'll be nice if the book was made from Stargirl's POV. It will be nice to know what's really going on her mind... but nevertheless I got an idea of what this book is all about it's daring to be different and not caring what others think of you...

I just wish the book contain a little more depth than that, but nevertheless the book did help me get my mind of fifty shades of grey (OHHH! *cringes*) I consider this book very light... very unusual, can't help to rant that there is not enough concrete plot for me to like this book very much, I've been reading reviews saying how good this book is, but it was good, but i just wish that it isn't as random as it is... the book has its moments and I am happy that I've read this one.. but I guess i'm not up for the next book, I just can't take all the randomness of the story. :P
Pad the resume for college applications, get a first look at the gossip column, spend some time ogling the paper’s brooding bad-boy editor, Chase Erikson. But on my first big story, things went... a little south. What should have been a normal interview with Sydney Sanders turned into me discovering the Homecoming Queen-hopeful dead in her pool. Electrocuted while Tweeting. Now, in addition to developing a reputation as HHH’s resident body finder, I’m stuck trying to prove that Sydney’s death wasn’t suicide.
My Rating: 4/ 5 stars

I wasn't a big fan of the last book, but this one seems to be far better than the first, I never realized how full of humor , quirky and cute this book is... I thought I have heard every internet slang there is but never have I encountered the word TWITTERCIDE! oh my! the main reason I've grabbed and read this book is because of the interesting summary and it mentioned the word twittercide? HAH! and I just really adore Hartly... reading her thoughts just made me laugh up until the last page of the book!! Yeah! that's how adorable she is.!

I wonder what would be the next book like, I hope it will be more excititng than this one, and I am looking for the blossoming Romance between Chase and Hartley... YAY!
seems like I've found a replacement for Hex Hall , I know they have the different genre but it seems like Deadly cool contains the fun and quirkiness present in Hex Hall. :)
Book Review

Ok! this book seem to create a buzz due to its cover, I can't blame them the dress worn by the model was really to die for... OH! that dress is just... just damn! its great! and as crazy as it may seem I think I was drawn to read this book due to the same reason, (Troll Face).

what do I think of the book?

well when I've read the short summary of the book I was like "the book is gonna be like the TV series "The Bachelor" wonder if it will be cheesy?" well it turns out it wasn't cheesy. the first couple pages of the book just focuses on what it's like living in Illea the turmoil and the caste system that is under in their society in a way I felt guilty for thinkinh this book would be like really cheesy and shallow but it's not. You just really feel symphaty for the people of Illea cause I know how the caste system works you are not allowed to ascend in your rank unless you marry someone above your caste. And the first couple of book just narrates the struggling and hunger of the people of Illea, In the back of my mind I was saying that maybe this book is not that bad after all, in fact it's like the classy version of the Hunger Games, instead of fighting they get to win the heart of Prince Maxom, enable for them to be entirely rich. so I was greatly enjoying mysef in reading this book. Yeah. But it was cut short until I've read the second part.

The second part of the book, I'll have to say that that's where the cheesy part started to happen, and for me the whole "Selection" process was too long, and I was expecting for a catfight to happen between the girls, but none happened, I guess the second part of the book didn't provide enough details and concreteness, or enough adrenaline rush for me to really, really like this book. But the characters are good, I love them all. America, is a the main heroine in the story, and I guess she is not that bad, she just have conflicting feelings toward the Prince and Aspen. but nevertheless I did like her. she has so much passion in her craft, which is singing. as for the two boys I guess I am more on Prince Maxom's side (Sorry Aspen) well mainly because the book provided more information for him. so I guess I favor him more than Aspen.

**** SPOILERS***

The ending was really UNFORGIVABLE! I've read an entire book, and it won't give me enough conclusion of who is selected to be the crown Princess! and I was so damn furios I can't help but say that I've given time to read this book, but it left me no answers... awww!! I was sooooo disappointed, like really, really disaapointed! I hope the secons book will be far more better than this one. :(

On the night of Skye's seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites—like fire and ice—Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye's life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move—only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.

In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can’t help falling for, and Devin, who she can’t stay away from, the consequences of Skye’s choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.

BOOK REVIEW

I am actually quite surprised with this book, I was expecting myself to not like it, I even thought that I wont be able to finish it. I even thought i would write a review that will rant about it, but you see something about The Beautiful Dark that got me really compelled the momemnt that I read it... was it because there was two hot guys appeared out of nowhere in the book? or was it beacuse the whole concept was really different.

to be honest I can't pin point what got me to like this book

. But one thing I am certain the book is very light, and I just feel like the whole book made me really comfortable while reading it. the story about stray and rebellious angels got my attention, and the way it was delivered was really flowy, ahhmm... you won't feel any hesitations or doubts on how it was narrated, I really liked the campfire story you all know I'm a real sucker for legends and myths and that campfire story was really something.

the characters are somehow like able, not a big fan of Skye I think I like Cassie and Raven than her, I mean Skye is just the kind of girl that doesn't know how to emphatize with Asher and Devin's situation, OMG! she has really got the guts to flirt with both of them, knowing beforehand on what their intentions and fates are. MEH!

I have a huge intuition that the second book will be better than this one. I just wish there will be more magic, angels and a lot more background story in the characters. So in a way I have high expectations for the second book. Hope It will be better than this one.
BOOK REVIEW

hmmm.. I wonder what happened to my favorite book series. I have really High expectations from this one cause I have loved the first 2, from the series.

this one focuses on Violet being part of a team of psychics which are all willing to help to solve crimes and murders.
My first thought is like: "Yes! this is gonna be exciting cause the book won't just be about vi and Jay.

But I get to see different characters and different supernatural powers" At first I thought the whole book was cool, cause I can see that the story is kinda exploring some other things rather than the romance only. But as I read on I think the whole book kinda gets repetitive, it always has the same plot like Violet and Jay having troubles in their relationship, and also the mystery and murder is pretty much the same as always, some psychos are hunting down girls, and Violet always get to be the victim and maybe because I gave this one a low rating is because I've just recently finished reading Perception (Clarity #2) and this two books has like a very huge resemblance with each other.

I am torn actually that I gave this one a low rating considering that I love this book series so much. But nevertheless it is kinda enjoyable, and I don't know if this is the last of the series. but If I get to pick between Rafe and Jay. I'll certainly pick Jay.

Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 12, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

BOOK REVIEW

my 4th John Green Novel, and I was *this* close to give this one a 5 star Rating. oh my.

this is really really different from the 3 previous books I have read from the same author, John Green. From the start of the novel their is a very evident change in John Green's writing style and that is using a teenage girl POV for narrating the whole story, you know John green, right? he writes story from a point of view of a guy. and giving out dirty jokes in the story here and there. But this one is entirely different. This story is about two cancer survivors, Hazel and Agustus. I for one think that John Green made a very bold choice of the main plot will be, cause for me Cancer is such a very hard topic to make out a story for, cause we all know that cancer has ruined many people's life we all know that a person who's been through it has really suffered greatly, and John Green just delivered these assumption flawlessly, in a way the book was written in a light fashion way but still has a hint of seriousness in it.

as I've said this is my 4th John Green novel, and this would have to be the first one that made me teary eyed. Not teary eyed because of the jokes and humor (cause John Green is really known to make books with jokes and humor) but because of how the story was narrated by a cancer survivor and how she deals with her life living everyday with uncertainty cause there is this fear that cancer will reoccur again and she'll have to fight for her life again. and the love story is really unique. OH , I mean imagine a loving someone knowing that you both are bound to not to be with each other for a long time. OH GOD! I can't imagine loving like that. John Green really showed how brave the Hazel and Agustus are. They fought cancer, they lived there life even though there is like a least chance of survival.

A lot of readers are saying that John Green keeps on making books of the same plot, genre, settings and dialogues, well looks like the ranting will have to stop cause Mr. Green just step out of his comfort zone and wrote a book that is completely not his signature style. and by that I am really pleased. I would have given this book 5 stars I am like a verge of giving this book a perfect rating, but the ending was not what I have expected, AHHH! it would have been great if the ending was different, but nevertheless i enjoyed every single page of this book, and I am now an official disciple of John Green, GOSH! this dude just rocks.

For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze.
Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. BOOK REVIEW

I am not the biggest fan of the first book,Unerathly. just gave the first book a 3 star rating, cause I didn't exactly enjoyed it as much as the others, and i was not planning to read this one, besides from the fact that netgalley denied my request to read an advance copy of the book, (yeah, I was so sad that they denied my request) haha! I guess the first book didn't give me enough excitement to read this one. But since I am out of books to read I decided to go for this one.

what to say? what to say?

I say that this one is a big improvement, we all know that Clara has an unknown purpose right? I mean her purpose is not certain on what it is about, well in this book this kinda somehow answered that question, and I was really pleased on how this book was written , I mean I really feel like every sentence and words spoken by the chracters are really hmmm.. Magical? woah! i really don't know how to describe the words used in this book but it has somehow gave me this feeling that I am living in world full of magic and wonders.

I like how the secrets were unraveled in this book, OMG! it's like Cynthia Hand just gave me a poundful of chocolate and shove it right in my mouth! oh yes! that's how good this book is, and I guess I appreciate the characters in this book, lots of new and intriguing additional characters were introduced here.

as for the romance part. HELL i don't care to which boy Clara will end up with! both guys are really HOT and worth of Clara's heart! KYAAA! and besides i am not after the romance in this book, I am after the angel stuff and unraveling more mysteries on who Clara is and what is her real purpose.

OH my! reading this one is such a remarkable experience. looking forward for the next book and I know It'll be a thousand times better than this one. :D

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.

True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.
BOOK REVIEW

I've never been to a circus. NEVER!i think in my country, Philippines I don't know if it's been in our culture to have circuses around, but i think our Local "Perya"/ "peryahan" comes pretty close to what a circus is, as described in the books and as seen in a television. But it never has this kind of elements such as fortune tellers and spell bounding acts in our local "Perya" or maybe I am just a weirdo and such a Homebody that maybe there is a "real" circus lurking in our area that I have no idea that it is there. But nevertheless my close encounter to such circus is the "Peryahan"

This would have to be my second book about circus, the first one is Water for Elephants and the main reason that I've read that book was because it was made into a movie starring Robert Pattinson (call me crazy fangirl) well in this book the main reason that I've read it was because I have seen a lot of reviews saying that it has many surprises and I just happen to love surprises I like it when there will be a part in a book that my mouth will just be hanging open and even though my eyes are sore from continuous reading I'll endure that pain just to read the entire book, and well the circus setting ain't that bad to read. kinda longing for that setting of a book cause it's been a while since I've read a circus related book.

well did the book lived up with the expectation?

I can't give you a definite answer. I mean the night circus IS great. a book that contains an old victorian- adult plot with magic and sorcery on the side. and it is promising but the book is soooooooooooooooo Darn long. and regardless of the number of pages the book is so descriptive that it took me a while to finish it and even conjure on what kind of book this is, cause you see the main plot of the book is about the duel between the protege of the two renowned magicians and the concept of the game is in either you WIN OR YOU DIE. well that is the plot alright. but as you read on there are many sub stories on the side that it is kinda hard to make out on what the book is about. and OH darn, I can honestly say that the book did bore me. I was contemplating on skipping it but then again there are twists in the story and I am looking forward to know on what is the twists in the story. but somehow the twist was nice and promising. not kinda expecting for it to be the outcome of the story.

4 stars for the book:

-the romance was nice. you can feel the intensity of the attraction between Celia and Marco. INTENSE ATTRACTION is an underrated word to describe their romance. OOHHH! trust me.

- Nice sorcery and magic. feels like I am reading Harry Potter (cause of the sorcery in it) and not mainly focused on the circus acts but it has some kinda sorcery in it.

- Nice set of Characters.

BUT...

don't read this one if you don't like long descriptive books that can bore you out. cause the downside of the book is I guess no pumping adrenaline in any page.

one piece of advice read this one on your own risks. not saying the book is entirely bad just very slow paced. but has Magic and surprises on the side that can make your mouth hang open. :D

Stopping a true-love-hungry evil - not so much…

After breaking a centuries-old romantic curse, Emma Connor is (almost) glad to get back to normal problems. Although...it's not easy dealing with the jealous cliques and gossip that rule her exclusive Upper East Side prep, even for a sixteen-year-old newbie witch. Having the most-wanted boy in school as her eternal soul mate sure helps ease the pain-especially since wealthy, rocker-hot Brendan Salinger is very good at staying irresistibly close....

But something dark and hungry is using Emma and Brendan's deepest fears to reveal damaging secrets and destroy their trust in each other. And Emma's crash course in über-spells may not be enough to keep them safe…or to stop an inhuman force bent on making their unsuspected power its own

Book Review

this is the second book of the spell bound series, actually the first book of the series was a surprise for me, cause I was expecting to rant about it, i have this impression that the first book would be really trashy and cliche but it turns out that it was great, a little cliche here and there but i did enjoy reading it, enough for me to be excited to read the next book.

so the second book would have to be the continuation of brendan and emma's undying love for each other, I mean they really have the real deal of true love. the book is actually compose of their showy affection for each other, which is well a bit too good to be true. but the upside of the whole book is the withcy stuff that was shown here, and of course some history about witchcraft which i guess really liked, I mean this is the element present in the first book that made it really special, cause i guess the history being narrated and presented in the book, is very rich and very gothic, i guess this is the certain distinction that this book contains , than any PR books around.

the downside is that the book is kinda long, a book which contains this number of pages i would have read it over a day, but this one is not like that, the book is very redundant, it contains with on and off fights between emma and brendan and well , gosh! what is the point of fighting if they are like eternal lovers. no point in fighting if they'll be all lovey dovey up until the end, if the author just reduced the arguements between them the book would have been thinner. SERIOUSLY!

but the ending was really nice very hmmmmm!! WOW! i guess it realesed the whole dreaming -of - true-love-does-exist side of me. i don't know if this is the last book, but it is nice that the book get to end this way. :)

Book Review

well this one was a surprise! Well actually I did like the first book , i mean the first one was good even though that the mythology in it was a bit different, and the first one actually has a nice ending and therefore i have no idea how the second book is gonna be.

actually I was surprise on how this book is written and presented. I guess I was ranting about the mythology in here cause the story of the gods and goddesses in this book is not like what I have known for what it is. but I guess that's the element in the book that made it somehow exciting, I would have never thought that Hera has her eyes on Hades. Like HEllo??? goddess of fertility and family would dare to cheat her husband? not like the Hera I know of, but in a way it gave the whole book an edge and somehow contained a lot of differences and made me have a wider perception about mythology. In a way I liked that Aimee Carter did a mix and match of the mythology in it.

so let's proceed to Henry and Kate, well I can say that I did feel sorry for both of them. you can't actually blame either of them to what they are feeling. I mean I can't blame Henry for trying to move on for being so in love with Persephone and you can't also blame Kate for wanting to feel Loved by Henry. GOSH! the last time I have this Emotional turmoil was the time I read The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. But I am glad their relationship turned out well at the end. but the relationship thingy in the book was the reason I gave the Book 4 stars, cause it contains a lot of complications and well i am not a fan of emtional turmoil and both of them have issues that can't be easily solved.

the ending was something I was so hyped about! the first book has a dull and boring ending but in the second book! Wow oh wow! very nice, Aimee carter! You do know how to make a reader want for more. KYAAA!! my Radar is on for the goddess inheretance. :))
My Rating; 3/5 stars

Book Review

wew! my first book review after a very very long time. tehee..

I really love Hex Hall y'all know that right? i mean it's really rare for me to like a heroine in the book, and Sophie is just the ideal main heroine for me and the two past books (Hex Hall and Demonglass) really pleased me. I promise you the two books were both light and humorous yet it is gripping.

but as for this 3rd book, i was actually looking forward for it. cause for those of you that have read the second book, the ending didn't actually make me satisfied cause as for me it is like the mother of all cliff hangers, i was formulating theories of my own on what would this book be like, and I was waiting, waiting. and time seem to run so fast in my life cause my busy activities at school and VIOLA! the book was out! and i was really really happy that i get to read this one. but that happiness was cut short cause the book didn't lived up to my expectations on this book, cause i think the whole book has gotten... hmmm. DARK? well Hex Hall series is known for its light and humorous content and I was just left unsatisfied in this series. of course the Ms.Mercer's snarkiness is still there but other than that the humor was just left with sophie's remarks.

i guess I was just sad that someone has to die, and that someone happens to be the most kind hearted person in the book, it was just sad. I was left with the idea that Cal has to die so that there won't be a love triangle in the book, and so that sophie won't get to choose.

but anyways i still love the series this third book just didn't do much for me to like it. if there is going to be a 4th book I'll sure read it.

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18C. Hadley's in 18A.

Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

My Rating: 3/5 stars

BOOK REVIEW

This would have to be my first Love Story Book I have read for 2012. This one kinda disappoint me, cause I was actually expecting this book to really answer the Question that's been intriguing me like

"can Love at first sight actually does exists?"
turns out the book didn't even give me even a slightest hint if such thing/phenomenon does exist.

the book is like Anna and the French Kiss, I mean the story line has the same flow, so I was expecting that It'll be as good as the book, but as it turns out, it was great in the first couple of pages, really gives me this giddy factor, but as I read on it turns out that the book is like really too good to be true, like the events stated in the book is not really possible to happen in real life, I know this is a fiction book, but some books that I've read at least contain a bit of realism to them, but this one is just, well. Too impossible to occur in any Human living on this planet.

I gave it 3 stars cause the first couple of pages is good, and there was a sense of unpredictability in the plot, but as everything goes on, everything just gets crappy and I didn't like it.

after reading this my judgement of the probability of love at first sight would probably be like Zero to none percent that it would happen in real life. meh. :|
BOOK REVIEW

OOOKKKAAAYYYY!!! there is really not enough words on how much I really like this book, so please bear with my review. I can't really get over with the whole story of the book... *HEAVY SIGH*

this book is about a post apocalyptic world wherein angels are the ones who are destroying our world we are introduced with the main heroine Penryn and her sister page and her very unstable mother.

Of course the book's title speaks for itself that the book would be about angels, but as I first read the first page I just thought the the book would be like Hunger Games cause really, I mean the resemblance is like there. The unstable mom, the tough big sister and the vulnerable little sister, so I was like thinking that maybe the books isn't really about angels, but as I read on a whole new concept of angels were introduced to me, OKAY, so I was Taken aback that angels could like possibly destroy our world, that is like seriously never ever crossed my mind, I know angels are not really the gentle creatures that we know, some YA novels have introduced me to that concept but WOW! THEY ARE LIKE DESTROYING OUR WORLD!! OMG! I was like really shocked. BUT! my hysteria regarding the plot wasn't really a hindrance for me to like this book.

One thing I like about this book is how well it is written, I really feel like I am living in to this destroying kind of world and everything is just so dark and uncertain, another thing is the dialogues of the character. I just feel like the personality that the author feeds us with the characters really matches the dialogue that they are suppose to possess. Like how Raffe really talks like this modern kind of angel and how Penryn gives comments that is well suited to her personality. Another thing is the mash up of the concepts of this book so we have angels , we have aliens, we have dystopia and we have a slight glimpse of the apocalypse ... WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR. Everything is present in this book. and it is a shocker on how well those elements go together. Even though its kinda different that those different kinds of elements are present in this book.

I like this book so much, It just kinda took long for me to read cause I was back to school last week, so things are kinda like pretty hectic. This book is really awesome, and I am encouraging every Young Adult Lit lover out there to read it, cause this book didn't get that much attention. DO READ IT! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past...but Dmitri's need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.

Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with the seductive vampire who is an archangel's right hand, and who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality...the same vampire who has been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her.

As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting...and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more...

Book Review

wow! This book is really delicious! mmm...

I am never a Dmitri fan I never I mean he always makes cameo appearances in the first 3 books and i pretty don't know much anything about him. He is just a well... a vampire. but in this book we get to meet and know Dmitri in a different kind of light.

first off. I never would have thought that Dmitri was a father, and not just a father but a very loyal and sweet husband. Maybe If i haven't read this book I would have never ever thought that he has this kind of personality that I would never thought the he would possess, and at the very end of the book I fell in love with Dmitri's character. I mean i still have my eye on bluebell but Dmitri's character was a really great shocker for me, cause it is just too hard to absorb that he still has humanity in him and I never would have imagine that he is this very loving and gentle character.

as for our gal Honor. well I like Honor cause she survived all the traumatic experiences she went through and at first I just thought that she and Dmitri has this attraction cause they both went through the same stuff but the revelation in the end was really amazing. kyaaaaaa!! oh my gosh Nalini Singh! you are one AMAZING writer.

I really like how this book is written, i think Nalini Singh is the only author that can deliver such sexual tension in her characters. ooohhh! this book was written very well indeed. Part of me is Happy that I've read this book another art of me is sad cause I wanna read the next book sooooo bad! ooohhh I wonder what will happen to elana and raphael and of course Bluebell... eeppp.. eppp. I'll try to read psy-changeling just to help me get over this madness with this series.

oh yeah this is my fave part of the book.

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Obsidian is the second novel from Jenifer L. Armentrout the author the Covenant series, I am not actually a huge fan of of the covenant series cause the book is the exact same clone of the Vampire Academy series, just different names for the Characters. so I was a bit skeptical if I should read this one, an oh the aliens being gorgeous is kinda intriguing so I was a bit curious so i decided to give this one a try.

the book wasn't much first just the same ole story of a very average girl who happens to bumped along strange creatures. What really caught my attention is that the main heroine has really something in common with me, like duh, she has a book blog and she likes YA books, so yeah the main heroine serves as my anchor when I was reading the book.

But it turns out that the book was great the plot is original, unlike the author's previous one, and I find myself really sucked in to the book, like every page is really gripping and I was introduced to a lot of foreign stuff about aliens cause it seems like i really have zero knowledge about them. It turns out that not all aliens are green and slimy some of them are HOT! oh YES HOT! I mean Daemon is like... like... gosh i have three words for you SWEET.BABY.JESUS! Crap ohhh Crap! hahahaha!

i really like how the book ended I mean a lot of debut book of the series it always end up that the boy always get the girls affection and they live happily ever after, but Obsidian's ending was different, never have I expected that the ending would be like that. HMMM. so i am most definitely looking forward for the next book cause some psychic part of me is saying that it would be filled with A LOT OF STEAMY AND HOT SCENES ***KYAAA***

Synopsis from Goodreads

Magic is dangerous--but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

Book Review

This is gonna be somehow a very selfish review cause I will compare this book to the Mortal Instruments series, cause this is the prequel of the book right? so somehow when I was reading this I compare everything to the mortal Instruments. so don't read this review if you think I am one Selfish B**** >:)

this book was set in Victorian England wherein Shadowhunters have English accent (sexy Right?) haha! just kidding. we get to meet our heroine Tessa Gray who has an ability to shape shift in any form and not just only that but she get to have an access on the minds of the person she's replicating to. so first thought about this book is that I was expecting it to be really action packed just as I felt when I first read COB. It turns out that it is action packed but it just took a bit wee too long for it to come maybe like the near ending. I feel like the first couple of pages of this book was full of dialogues and blabbering not much seems to be happening as I was reading it. so maybe I've got 2 hot guys to drool for (Will and Jem) I was actually expecting Will to be like Jace like maybe to have some kinda strak of a bad boy attitude but it turns out that Will's Character is a mystery and a bit restrained like I really don't know what to think of him I can't even give a one word description on who Will is. as for Jem, well I really like Jem. GOSH! he is like described as this oriental God with an English accent!! OOOHHHH!! what is so not to like and I really like his back story on what happened to him on China. it's a bit sad. and I can say that Jem's character is honest , caring and very straight forward. hmmm my type of guy. :P

as for the plot, ad I've said I can't make much out of it at first but as I read on everything becomes clearer and more concrete, the whole book starts stirring by maybe on page 350, cause everything was eventually revealed at that point of the book, what I really appreciate about the plot is that it is filled with twists and treachery. Never have I expected that the story would turn out like that. what I guess the downside of this book is the ending and the Romance aspect, I really don't know if I am rooting for the love interest in this book, hmmm... I mean I fangirl like really a lot on Jace and Clary and Simon. But on this book Nada.Zero.Nothing. I am not rooting for tessa X Will nor Tessa X Jem. meh.

Overall: it is a great read, worth the money and reading time. But I have to say that I like the Mortal Instruments more than this one, although this is a great read I would still prefer Jace,Clary,Simon,Izzy,Alec and Magnus. *wink*

Synopsis from Goodreads

For years scandal has rocked Rosewood, Pennsylvania—and high school seniors Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer have always been at the center of the drama. They’ve lost friends, been targeted by a ruthless stalker named A, and narrowly escaped death. And it’s not over yet.

Aria’s love life is on the fritz. Emily’s exploring her wild side. Hanna’s kissing the enemy. And someone from Spencer’s past—someone she never thought she’d see again—is back to haunt her.

But none of that compares to what happened last spring break. It’s their darkest secret yet and guess who found out? Now A is determined to make them pay for their crime, and the only thing scarier than A is the fear that maybe, just maybe, they deserve what’s coming to them.

Book Review

WOW! I really can't believe I have read the 10th book of the PLL series, as all of you have known I am not a huge fan of the Previous book, (twisted) i just feel that the 4 girls of Rosewood is as annoying as will ever be. But yeah, I really can't resist reading PLL cause it is one of my fave mystery/chick lit book, i just wish that Sara Shepard just ended the series @ Heartless *Sighs*

anyways. what to say about the book, I would really like to point out that it is really nice that Ezra Fitz was back in this book, besides from I love the chemistry between Ian Harding and Lucy Hale in the TV series, I happen to like them first on the book, so I was I really thrilled that Aria X Ezra is back. But if you have read some book of the PLL series this one still contains the same element like having bitch fights , non-stop hook ups and of course the never oh-so undead A is still lingering in this book, (Sheesh she is so darn indestructible!) but I have to say that this one is better than the first cause I guess some characters have really grown up, but they still have the inner Ruthlessness to themselves, I mean these girls will just do about ANYTHING just to get away their misbehavior.

In a way I did enjoy reading this one, although it took me like 4 days to finish it, i still like the mystery in the book I really don't know who A is now, GOSH! i really have to come up with my own theory sooner or later. >:) I'm still looking forward for the next books to come. :D

Synopsis from Goodreads

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Book Review

I was a bit disappointed with this book, cause it seems like i really have high hopes for this particular book, it seems to create a real buzz in the YA Lit world. Many of my friends in goodreads seem to like the book so much they even gave it a 5/5 star rating.

the book is actually like X-Men, we met a character named Juliette who seems to have a lethal touch, everything she touch will die. I would just like to say that Juliette is like the first female main character I encountered wherein I actually consider her a SAINT, she is the nicest person i have ever as in EVER have met! who would take blame to something that you didn't do? Juliette will! I was actually expecting a character so provocative and bad ass in this book, cause it seems like Juliette has been through a lot. you can just tell by reading her thoughts on the beginning of the book, I guess i would've consider her CRAZY. Just by reading through her thoughts, and i kinda feel sorry for her. her ability did really make her kinda demented and downright creepy.

as for the plot of the book, well it seems very cliche and everything. Girl meets Boy and Villain secretly fancies the main heroine. ermmm. the middle part of the book was actually a bit exciting, cause i really have no idea how will the story will go on. I was actually making a mental note to myself that I'll actually will give the book 4 stars, but as the story goes on, everything is just so typical. the ending was a bit simple and flat nothing to keep me on the edge and wanting for the next book to come out. I guess the only redeeming factor of the book is the romance aspect of the book. I like Adam and Juliette's intimacy. very wholesome yet will make you pant. :P

Synopsis from Goodreads

What's a girl to do when meeting The One means she's cursed to die a horrible death?

Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Connor, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.

But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.

Book Review

I never thought that I would like this book.
My initial thought about the book is that it'll be like Twilight. The same thing that YA novels have these days, the kind of boy meets girl and they are quickly drawn to each other, i was actually expecting all the usual elements that made up a YA novel and the main character just sometimes gets in to my nerves i just sometimes wanna slap her.

what really caught my attention is that this book talks about reincarnation, I really liked the little short story of Lord Archer and Gloriana i have never thought that this story would contain that kind of element. so I was actually liking the book for about a couple of times but as the story goes on it just keeps on highlighting Emma and Brendan's Make out session and oh don't get me wrong I like it that they show intimacy and love and everything but it's kinda too much. they keep on making out every time they see each other. *sheesh*

but nevertheless i did enjoy reading this one, I have no idea how will the next book turn out. Hmmmm . I just wish that the author will provide more stuff about Angelique i really like her character. she's a witch! come on what's not to like about her?? and *coughs* SHE IS BITTER *Coughs* just like me... LOL. LOOKING FORWARD FOR THE NEXT BOOK :D
