Hi all.
We'll shortly be putting our 4 Bedroom Dormer Detatched Bungalow with 4660g Pond up for sale.
We are down a quiet little cul-de-sac in a "sort after" area of Goole.
As you can see (and probably know) i've spent an absolute fortune on the garden & pond without cutting any corners.
It would be a shame for someone to buy it who isnt into koi.
Please email, phone or text me for more picture & information on:-

Hi Bo just been out and measured up,
The unit on it's board is 16inch wide x 42inch deep and the
air pump is 6 x 8, as you can see from the pic the air pump is at
the side, when new it was on top but it would not fit my system so i chopped it off
and made a shelf at the side to accomadate it.

I never got around to installing this as the Mrs wouldn't let me.It's a Baxi 60/100 boiler which basically means it's 60,000 - 100,000 Btu
It is mint condition(even though second hand), would cost approx £600 new, complete with wall bracket and flue. With an appropriate heat exchanger and digistat this will easily heat a pond of several thousand gallon. Please understand I cannot/will not be able to post/package due to size. It is PICK UP ONLY from South Wales, although I could meet by Severn bridge area (if your coming from that direction), to save you the bridge fees.

I've checked with Baxi this morning(5-10-09) and the boiler is called a 'system 60/100'

It's a boiler only, not a combi and as previously menioned will easily heat a pond of several thousand gallons.

Steve,

I have at last accepted that I do have a leak on the smaller of my 2 ponds.

I am allowing the water to leak out, & marking everyday, on the waterline, where it is.

The next day, I am marking it again, so that when it remains consistent, I will know that the leak is somewhere between the 2 lines.

Then, I am going to leave things as they are until next Spring, having moved my koi into the larger pond or the GO tank.

In this way, I will not, for seveal months, be continually topping up my pond over & over again, thus cutting down on my bills.

The YWA have been very helpful, & have sent me a claim form to reduce the 95% sewerage charge.

Some of the details that they are asking for, re my daily useage, excluding the pond, are a little difficult, but I have been able to measure some of them.

I think that the best idea will be to refer them to my charges & useage, back in 2002, before I had the ponds, as things haven't changed on the domestic front since then.

Watch this space!!

hi ,
i believe in reducing the feed rate but not stopping all together also temperature plays a big part

Hi all,

I would agree with Paul as long as the koi are looking for food I will feed them, although certinly not as much as I am feeding at the moment, I intend to have the temp at 12o for the start of January and will keep it at 12 till the end of Feb.

The benefits are for a better bodyshape to our fish, fish that have put on loads of weight through the summer get to lengthen instead of getting fatter during the fasting period. then when feeding starts up again we bulk our koi up to the perfect shape. Well this how i read what Alan was saying
and i have heard the same said by other very experianced koi keepers.
I'm sure others will have different theories but these are what i thought was being said please correct
me if anybody thinks I am wrong.

Ian, you need to buy the frame seperate from the glass no kit form I'm afraid.
You can either have a frame made to what ever size you want ie out of angle iron
or you can buy them a standard size off the shelf from some where like Richdon koi.
The glass you will have to purchase from a glazer obviously to fit the frame
and it needs to be double ply toughened and between 10 -20 mm thick although you
may get differing opinions on this subject.
Hope this is of some use to you.

Get a storage box from B&Q and tip them in to it if you can otherwise it is hand power to get it out. One time i clened mine out there was a load of c**** just inside the airring which would not loosen off. When cleaning now i help it along with a bamboo cane just to stir up the bottom to make sure it does not happen again

UV Units do not kill blanket weed only waterborn algi so i would recomend keeping it on
and they don't use alot of electric anyway so you won't be saving that much by turning it off.
