12 years

2014-07-20T14:51:00.001-07:00

Cameron turned the BIG 12 in June!!!!
Holy cow....12!!!!
He is so awesome and has the sweetest spirit. He loves his family and is a great brother to Jake and Caroline.
For his birthday, he requested that he make his own birthday cake....baseball of course. He did a great job!
I am so proud of him. He is a wonderful son and is a great example to me.

All Star 2014

2014-07-20T14:23:00.002-07:00

Both boys made the Katy All Star team this year! Cameron was selected to be on the All Star team and Jake made the Blue-Gray Tournament team (another All Star Team). Despite both Katy teams being creamed by First Colony and Richmond, the boys played hard. I can't believe I never snapped any pictures of Jake in his All Star uniform. I am such a slacker!!! Despite my slacking, I couldn't be anymore prouder of my boys. They rocked this season of baseball!

This is the only picture I got from Jake's team. :(

2 videos from the beginning of Cameron's All Star game.

Last Day of School 06/2014

2014-07-20T13:49:00.001-07:00

Another school year has ended.
Cameron survived middle school and Jake advanced to another year of grade school.
Jake was awarded the Physical Education Award, Super Cheetah, Art, and Outstanding performance in the Elk's National Hoop Shoot Contest.
Caroline survived Kindergarten and received lots of awards. She was awarded the Super Cheetah, the MVP award because of her willingness to help others, especially her friends with special needs, and also the Principal's 200 Character Traits award. This is what her teacher had to say of why she should be on the 200 list.... "Caroline always steps up to help and never expects recognition for it. She works hard on all her assignments and is a good friend to all her classmates. Her eagerness to learn is contagious!"
I am so proud of my trio and their accomplishments. They have grown so much this year, especially Cameron. He has really matured and become a great example to his brother and sister.

Caroline's lunch pick. Wendy's. We let her leave after her award ceremony and she was on cloud 9.

My kids live in their work-out clothes.....they never want to wear normal clothes.

Boston Red Sox

2014-07-01T19:00:00.000-07:00

This year we scored and the boys landed on the same baseball team! The Boston Red Sox. It was awesome. They made some great friends and had some really good coaches. Here are a few pictures from the baseball season. Both boys got there fair share of game balls this season.
Cameron played pitcher, 3rd base, and 1st. Pitching was mainly his calling this season.
Jake played short stop and 2nd base.
Caroline spent most of her time trying everything on the menu at the concession stand and my favorite part of the baseball season was eating sunflower seeds and the post game meal with the family.

A few clips from the boys at tryouts. This was in January and they hadn't picked up a bat in a year...not to shabby!

Always BUSY! Life in pictures!

2014-04-20T20:37:00.001-07:00

Man, have we been busy! Most everything gets posted on Instagram and Facebook these days. However, I really want to keep up with our family blog because it is my journal of us.
So, here are some random pictures that pretty much sum up our crazy life lately...

Caroline FINALLY got her haircut. The last time she had it fully cut was when she was a year old!!! I know, craziness!!! Luckily, I have the best niece, Abbi, who is taking cosmetology while in high school. I love these 3!

I took the kids and Abbi and Marissa to Lupe's one night. Did I mention that Lupe Tortillas brings out the crazy in my family?

The boys had baseball tryouts. Man, did they do awesome! Especially, for not picking up a bat and ball in a year!

WE LUCKED OUT AND THE BOYS HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THE SAME BASEBALL TEAM...MORE ON THAT TO COME!!!

Caroline thought she wanted to play ball this season, but chickened out at the last minute. However, come this fall, she will play softball!! Because, this girl has some CRAZY MAD SKILLS!!!

Jake finally got his glasses fixed...maybe he can finally SEE again!

Our favorite missionary finished his mission and went back home. He will be missed. Cameron really liked Elder Leavitt and was bummed to see him leave.

And yes, this is from our Super Bowl party---way back! And yes, we were rooting for the BRONCOS!!!

Father Daughter Dance

2014-04-20T20:04:00.001-07:00

Back in February, Caroline's school had a father daughter dance.
Of course, these two rocked it in style!
They are both so cute and are best friends!
I just love these guys!

Kinder Rodeo Day

2014-04-20T19:57:00.000-07:00

WOW! Isn't she the cutest COWGIRL ever????
She is the love of my life and makes me so proud!
Kinder Rodeo Day was a fun event. Caroline was so excited to have her Aunt Candy and Kadie in town, so she could show off her new square dancing moves.
Dusty gets the "DAD OF THE YEAR AWARD." He sowed Caroline's stick horse the night before by hand. He did such an amazing job and Caroline was on cloud 9. I am so lucky to be married to such an amazing man!

Before the big Rodeo event, we had Muffins with Mom--I am so lucky to be their mom. They teach me so much about life and make me be a better person.

Here is a group shot of Dusty, Aunt Candy, Kadie, and Caroline.

Baptism of Cameron and Jake

2014-04-20T19:26:00.000-07:00

Cameron and Jake were baptized on January 3, 2014, by their dad.
Elder Leavitt, Elder Cloward, and Elder Lopez were the 3 missionaries that taught the boys about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
It was a great evening to share with family and friends. The spirit was so strong and I am so grateful that families can be together forever.

A short video of the boys that was played while the boys changed after being baptized....

Cozumel, Mexico

2014-03-23T18:03:00.000-07:00

For our 14th wedding anniversary, Dusty surprised me with a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico!
We departed from Galveston and sailed the sea for 4 days.
We had a blast and have decided to take another one in the near future with the kids in tow.
My favorite part of the adventure was scuba diving, in the ocean, with no guides, for about 2 hours--just the 2 of us!

Dinner with the Elders

2014-02-11T17:57:00.000-08:00

These are the super cool missionaries that taught the boys. Elder Leavitt, Elder Clowart, and Elder Lopez. We could not have asked for cooler missionaries to teach the boys about the gospel.

December Happenings!

2014-02-10T11:00:00.000-08:00

Halloween 2013

2013-12-19T18:53:00.003-08:00

I can't believe it is Christmas and I am just updating about Halloween and scarecrows! This year for Halloween, we had the other Youngblood's over for dinner and then we did some trick or treating in our neighborhood. The first couple of pictures are of Caroline at the church Halloween party. She wanted to be Taylor Swift, however, when we couldn't find any yellow hair spray and the white color failed miserably, making her hair look grey, she switched to Snow White. Jake was Andy Dalton and Cameron was a BYU lacrosse player.

10

2013-12-19T18:17:00.001-08:00

Way back in September, Jake turned 10!!! He only requested that his BFF, Chance, spend the night.
Cameron made his birthday cake and the boys stayed up all night and played.

Football Season 2013

2013-12-09T15:51:00.003-08:00

A few weeks ago we ended the 2013 Football season.
(SO GLAD IT IS OVER!)
I am one exhausted mom.... 2 boys on 2 different teams called for practice almost every evening and game day was an all day event on Saturday.
Jake played a grade level up this year, for the Texans Blue.
Cameron played for the 6th grade Cowboys. This was the last season for Cameron to play for the league. He is now old enough to play junior high football (WHAT???).
The boys were the smallest kids on their teams (of course), but they brought their A game to every game and have a true passion for the sport.

The kiddos on the night of opening ceremonies:

6th, 4th, and Kinder

2013-09-02T19:03:00.000-07:00

Last week was the FIRST day of school for the Youngblood Kids.
No group picture for the morning, since Cameron had to be up and gone before the other 2 got up.

Here is Cameron before he headed off to his first day of Junior High

And Jake and Caroline before heading off to 4th & Kinder together

New Beginnings

2013-09-02T18:32:00.001-07:00

Orientation Night at the Junior High for Cameron. He picked up his schedule, located all of his classes, and learned how to use his locker. This year brings big changes for the Youngblood Family. Cameron enters Junior High, Caroline starts Kinder, and that means NO KIDS at home for Dusty on his off days. I sure miss being home during the week, but I wouldn't give up my weekends with the family.

6 IS GREAT!

2013-09-02T15:38:00.001-07:00

Just a few pictures from Caroline's 6th birthday.

We kept it low key with just us-her biggest fans.

We went to the Macaroni House-a restaurant that specializes in all different types of "Mac n Cheese"-Caroline's FAVE!

We went to the movies and then celebrated with cake and presents.

Caroline finally got the American Girl, Sage, to add to her collection.

It looks like being 6 is going to be GREAT!

2013-08-12T15:36:00.002-07:00

A sweet coworker of mine gave us 4 tickets to the Astros vs the Texas Rangers game. The seats were amazing. 5 rows behind 3rd base!!! The boys were in baseball heaven and I enjoyed spending the afternoon with just the boys.

Lacrosse Camp

2013-07-07T16:21:00.000-07:00

Both boys started Lacrosse Camp this summer.
They are loving it.
Lacrosse camp is making them work some muscles they never knew they had-ha!
Cameron told me that he has never did so many butt kicks in his life!!!
This picture was taken after we got home from Academy...Cameron used his birthday money and bought Jake a stick to use for camp. How awesome and sweet is that??
