Theater of The Muse (TOTEM) is a troupe of actors, performers, and writer/actors who perform "acts of literary fiction" on stage, and before the camera--the purpose being to bring America's multitudes around to accepting good fiction and the novel as viable forms of enlightenment as well as entertainment, and doing so by transforming the written word into a dynamic and unique visual form.

In other words, TOTEM wishes to bring people back to the book.

TOTEM will perform in local Bay area venues, but also film performances (one acts, reader's theater, monologues, beggar opera, etc.) for display and promotion on popular video sharing websites, and our own websites as well as the international literary website, WebdelSol.Com. TOTEM will endeavor to promote it's shows and services nationwide for the purpose of gaining recognition and support.

TOTEM is nonprofit, i.e., the profit motive is not the motive for those actors, writers, and staff associated with the creation, administration, and direction of events and shows. We intend that up to half the gate go to the actors and crew, another portion to cover show expenses, and the balance to local charity.
