This article is a continuation of the article “Ten Essential WordPress Plugins“. One thing I noticed while writing the original article is the fact that more than ten plugins are necessary for both security and functionality reasons. WordPress has easily become my favorite content management system, but the version that is available for download is somewhat stripped down so-to-speak.

In this article, we will continue with ten more essential WordPress plugins. This set, as the previous set of WordPress plugins will continue to focus on security and functionality as well as usability and copyright protection. Lets get started. Since this is “ten more” plugins, we will start with number eleven.

11) Page links to. I know that is a rather plain name, but this plugin gives a great functionality. It allows you to directly link to a webpage off of your site with a 301 or 302 redirect if you do not want to pass on your Page Rank. Great for linking out, especially if you are selling links.

12) TweetMeme Retweet Button. Are you part of the Twitter craze? Even if you are not, many people are and many fellow tweeters are looking to pass along useful information to their followers. The TweetMeme Retweet Button allows your visitors to easily post a link to your article to their Twitter as well as TweetMeme account. This gives your article great potential to go viral.

Having created websites for several years now, I have found that having the proper tools with which to do your job make all the difference in your overall experience. The right tools will effect a higher level of quality and professionalism on your site. Of the tools that I have used that I have come to appreciate the most are the WordPress and Joomla content management systems. The nice thing about both of these content management systems is the fact they are both highly customizable platforms. Both platforms boast extremely large libraries of modular plugins that are available for download free of charge. Thus, one has the ability to take the functionality of their website in just about any direction in that all of these plugins are ready-made. After all, that is what modular means.

This article is about the top twenty essential WordPress plugins that I would highly recommend to anyone using the WordPress CMS. So here we go. Keep in mind that these are listed in alphabetical order, not order of importance.

1) Add Widgets To Page. This plugin gives you WordPress blog the ability to add Widgets to your articles and not just to the sidebar. So for instance if you want to install a widget where other bloggers can submit potential guest posts, you can add this widget to an actual page where there is plenty of room for them to work as opposed to them having to write a blog post in the sidebar.

2) All in One SEO Pack. Instead of trying to keep up with basic SEO on your WordPress blog manually, the all in one SEO pack places fields for your Title, Description and Keywords meta tags at the bottom of your new post page. You can even drag it up and place it right beneath where you write so that you do not forget you basic SEO tags and every article gets optimized.

Having been an internet marketer for some time now, I find my self critiquing much of what I see on the internet as I browse. It seems that every time you click on a link as you browse around you see one type of ad or another. In many cases, these ads take the form of landing pages.

One of the most common types of ads you will see is a single page ad that gives a description of a free product or report in exchange for an email address. This is what is known as a squeeze page. Internet marketers and search engines alike have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with squeeze pages. We love them because they are extremely proficient at what they do, that being harvesting emails. We hate them because they are the internet equivalent of driving to the end of a dead-end road. Once you get to the end, you either have to drive into the woods or turn around.

It is this lack of options that defines squeeze pages and many search engines scoff at this property in that they lack functionality that makes for a pleasant browsing experience. To put it plainly, there are no leaks on the page meaning that there are no exit points or options in the form of links taking you to other pages other than the opt-in form. It is true, they do make for a crummy browsing experience, but they also accomplish their purpose. They force the visitor to tell up-front whether or not they are willing to play ball with the marketer, so-to-speak.

This means that the person receiving or purchasing the articles can slap their own label on them and use them to promote their own business or website. Be alert to any and all restrictions on PLR content which may include but may not be limited to posting the article to article directories, blogs, ezines or ebooks. Just check with the seller or vendor to see if there are any restrictions of this sort. In some cases, an easy to way to check is to look for a “Read Me” file in the package. It is not uncommon for the original author to state the terms of usage in the “Read Me” file.

If there are no restrictions, then you can use the content as you see fit. Keep in mind that since it is PLR content, odds are that others already have it and it has already been crawled and indexed by search engines already. More often than not, HTML code will be provided for the products. Remember, pick a niche product that you believe in and enjoy writing about.

It is no secret that in the old days of internet marketing and building websites, the old adage “if you build it, they will come” was a fairly reliable statement. I laugh when I say “old” because I actually mean only  a few years ago.

Yes, in the old days, you could build a website and market it a little and traffic would come on it’s own. However, those days are long since past. With the development of turn-key websites and website scripts, launching a blog or forum or affiliate site has become very easy, even for the technically challenged. In some cases, all that is required is a domain name, hosting and little more than the click of a button using the server installer script for any one of a variety of sites.

For this reason, the sheer number of competing sites has risen dramatically and the necessity of creating sites that are more focused with respect to a certain niche has become more prominent.

Now, if a website is to receive traffic, the traffic, rather than being drawn to your site, has to be driven.

If you ever discuss SEO with an SEO expert, you will hear talk about two different types…on page SEO and off page SEO. In this very brief tutorial, I will discuss the absolute minimum that must be performed in both of these areas.

I will begin the with easiest of these two…on page SEO. Before you write any content, you must first head over to a keyword research tool and select a keyword that describes what your content will center around.

The sole purpose of keyword selection is to make sure that the words you use are actually being used by individuals searching for phrases. Generally speaking, you want to find a keyword that gets a high level of searches per month, preferably local, and has a low level of competing pages as per a Google query.
