Galaxy S4

The best smart phone camera out to date. With a 13 mega pixel camera and Samsung‘s best camera software added, the  Samsung Galaxy S4 has one of, if not the best smart phone cameras out in 2013.

The 13 mp really looks good for pictures. The S4 really shines in this area. The zooming aspect ratio and sharpness with the clarity is daytime photos are phenomenal.

This Phone takes better, accurate and more detailed pictures than most smart phones do. Like i said before. Not specifically good for low light situation. This camera has a better color   sensor than most, and will give good result for this type of picture. Because it has software loaded for camera quality editing… There are some additional thing that you are able to do with this phone. One is a whiny online diary, and the other is a light speed news source, Facebook v Twitter throw down! http://bit.ly/12YknvL

One thing that stands out is the ability to make gif images with the camera features. This camera functions allow several different picture settings. The function that generate gifs is the  Animated photo functions. This create a picture containing selected moving objects by animating parts of the picture  while others part are still.

The different feature setting are

1-drama; takes several stills of a moving object.

2-sound & shot ;allows a picture to have attached audio for short period.

3-best face ; Select the best picture of each person from 5 consecutive pictures, to get the best merged group of pictures.

4-Best photo; Takes a series of photo and then select the best to save.

5-Animated photo; create pictures containing selected moving objects by animating certain parts of the picture.

6- Dual shot; allows you to use both the front facing and the rare facing camera at the same time

7-Auto; this automatically adjust the exposure to optimize the color and brightness of the pictures

8-night; take brighter clearer pictures in low light without the flash

9- sport; takes pictures of fast-moving objects.

10- Panorama; allows you to pan camera to include a wide area of view into a picture

11- Rich tone; creates a soft, rich color by merging pictures taken at various exposures

12-Eraser; save the best picture after erasing moving objects from 5 consecutive pictures

Sony xperia Z/Zl
With a display size of 5in (130 mm) The Xperia Z/Zl have a pixel density in the four hundreds; 441ppi is the number that claimed by a small number of smart phones. As you may know. The pixel density accounts for much of the way a photo or video looks on the display screen.
The pixel density is what you see in a video, picture, graphic, text… whatever you have displayed on the screen. Pixel density is that thing which makes those images look crisp and smooth.Enough about pixel density, if you want to know more look it up or click on ppi.

The Sony Xperia Z  released in Feb of 2013. This is the Sony flagship phone. The Fcc records show that this phone is available through T-mobile. Be sure to check with your carriers to find who offers this phone.

The Xperia Z is a 1080 x 1920 pixel display on a LED back-lit LCD screen TFT Opti-contrast Display. I am not totally sure exactly what that means. Sony as this under raps it seems. Anyways, this phone will give you a similar viewing experience as watching your HD Sony television, with the Bravia engine 2 for Sony Mobile. This scratch resistant display, shatter proof sheet of mineral glass seems  very durable according to the specs.

most smart phones come with a 2 mb ram chip, from the manufacturer.  and a range of flash memory that host system  drivers, os, system functions and user accessible options. The Xperia has expansion slot for micro SD card, for up to 64 GB. Believe it or not, the amount of memory is not directly affecting the display, But more memory certainly helps when you have a good gpu to render  the size files that run HD.

HD phones that I want to talk about, is. . .this           

HTC Droid DNA Butterfly
1080 p display has what HTC calls a Supper LCD3 (SLCD) This is not a typical LCD.   This is different from a regular LCD because it does not have that air gap between the outer glass and the display element. Because of this. Less glare  produced when you have your phone outside.  This 1080 p phone by HTC has some unique attributes that are not unique to HTC, Direct contradiction. anyways, Many manufacturers choose the SLCD over AMOLED display.  So HTC is not that unique then is it?  The (Droid DNA Butterfly) release in November of 2012  with a 5in display. With 441 ppi . This phone was one of the first with the amount of ppi. This is not a bad thing to have that much pixel density in most cases. Sometimes it is just overwhelming for the viewer, who before had to looking at other screens with less pixel density to adjust to the explosion of sharpness on the screen.

Huawei Ascend D2

Huawei Ascend D2 is another 1080 p hd phone that you may want to check out. This phone was release in March of  2013. A  5 inch  screen 1080 x 1920  and a 441 ppi. This phone uses, is called, the IPS LCD display. This type of display as improved over the years. It is mostly used for lager monitors and television panels.  For viewing of pictures and videos, This display is one of the best for sharp flowing images.  This type of display is not the fastest touchscreen display and that may help to make your choice of getting this phone. The Huawei Ascend  display offers consistent color from all viewing angles no dark or shadowing areas. This makes the Huawei ascend stand out from the other hd phones. the viewing angle are exceptionally good no matter how you are looking at this phone’s screen, you will get the same picture colors as if looking right at it. The IPS LCD is not the ideal for speed typing and other functions that are necessarily for fast response time from your display screen. This screen is better for video viewing and other activities that are more associated with enjoying good quality images on your display.

Asus Padfone

The Asus Padfone infinity is an interesting phone that wants to look like an IPhone  in some if its external features. This phone has a 5 inch display and 441 ppi, as most other 1080 p hd phones do.

This phone is probably wanting  an Asus flag-ship phone credibility. since Asus is not typically a phone company in America. Asus is more know for Computers and laptops. Recently Asus is getting more involved in tablets and phones. The consumers will decide if that is a good thing. As you can see in the picture, this phone look very similar to the iPhone 4 design, or maybe it is just me thinking that. Anyways, this phone  uses the Super IPS+ LCD technology which improved on the IPS LCD for better response time of the touch screen. This super IPS screen panels process high-speed signals without data loss by using copper wiring with low resistance . Super IPS panels makes viewing on the screen clear and offers stable response time. without getting too deep into the technology of IPSLCD. This screen technology makes viewing on the 441ppi pleasurable. With this kind of pixel density the last thing that comes to mind is the type of tech that makes the screen. Most consumers don’t even care how it is made. They are just concerned about what output they see and what is pleasing to their eyes. This phone is the newest phone so far this year with a 5 inch 1080p screen. Released in May 2013,  is now on the market. Getting the Asus will not only give good viewing for photos and video but the screen is very responsive. With all the top specs of the industry. The processor,is a snap dragon processor, DRAM of 2GB , and is capable of 9 hr of video playback. This information is from the AOCC.

ZTE Grand S

The ZTE Grand S. Released in March of 2013 with the top ppi of 441 for a 5 inch display so far. This phone uses the IPSLCD which by industry standards is one of the most used for monitors and television sets. I will not go into details about the IPS panel display. This is what the previous links are for, if your interested in know more about this type of technology, you may click on the links.  This phone display 1080 x 1920 pixels in hd. One of the biggest Chinese phone /electronics manufacturers distribute this phone worldwide with a Subsidiary in Texas that offers wireless handset and networking solutions in the USA.

These phones are not the only 1080 p phones available for consumption Several other 1080 x 1920 pixel with more ppi and bigger screens and smaller screens as well. I feel that the 5 inch screen size is ideal for a phone. Any bigger than that is bordering the tablet line until they get to 6 inches  then that is just too much for it to be called a phone anymore. At that point it becomes a phablet. Smaller phones are available in 1080 p also. They are good phones and most of them have very good hardware specs and great screen specs. Like i said. The 5 inch screen is a sweet spot for 1080 p phones that will offer optimal performance with good clear viewing and performs exceptionally as a phone. Comfortable size viewing and usability.

Slightly bigger screen, 2 GB ram,wave through photos with gesture control, S health, and so many other fun apps that works so well on the S4, the integrating of Google maps, hover  features are also cool. In a recent post about the S4. We talked about some of the Samsung Galaxy Features. We wanted to review it through and through to see what the tech improvements are. I found this video from,  iFixitYouorself’s  YouTube page. This review is the most through and through tear-down that we like to see as technicians and as consumers.

This video as to be the most consumer friendly that i found. The Samsung S4 specs are mentioned and the breakdown of what they mean for clear understanding. Like the recent post mentioned. Not much as improved in the design and materials. The phone is still made from plastic for the body.

Samsung S4 uses the snapdragon 600 processor, This is a quad-core and is used, also, the debated Exynos processor that is said to be of a slower speed. However the Exynos 5 Octa 8 cores has more cores to work with. The Exynos processors are mostly in Europe and other countries.  May also be requested as there are in some versions of the S4. Which processor is better?  It is a close call with each having attributes of their own.

You can have it in your hands

The Samsung’s newest member to the S series family is finally here for you.

About a month ago; Samsung displayed the new S4 and explained the features that the S4 has. The feature that are on this phone should already be in the testing stages now; with techs getting their hands on the phone now.
With all the features that Samsung as incorporated in the new S4, with the new software upgrades.We want to see how stable everything holds up and how much the battery will drain and how fast. The Galaxy is slightly infamous in that department; We would like to know if battery life got better? After the additional features that where added and the functionality of these features are review, we can decide with more information what the normal average consumer is getting. Not much is added for the design style or material the phone body is made from.
The customers that pre-ordered should be getting their new phones now in the US. Earlier in the month, news was going around that there was a supply shortage and now it seem that issue is resolved.
The spec ..is calling the S4 a life companion. Kinda creepy… but what ever, i just hope i can turn some of these off when i am not using them,
Regardless what their tagline is, this phone as a lot to offer. It incorporates many luxuries, especially with the Sprint contract. You decide on the plan to choose. After comparing offers.

After looking at the specs briefly.  Comparing the Hp and the Gateway all in one computers got me thinking…Other than Brand loyalty, “why would i buy the Hp Z1?, The new all in one desktop unit.  Hewlett Packard  (HP) has got some thing here. The Z1 is innovative a professional’s dream come true.
First let me tell you a little about the HP Z1. This all in one desktop is a 27″ beast of a desktop. The manufacturer managed the feat of allowing this design a size to work at the advantage of using no tools for servicing or swapping out parts.  At Hp  U.S. you may find the features and the in-depth specs of the machine.This unit carries an hd web cam, that is easily adjusted for several angles, The HP Z1 have a quad-core Intel Xeon processor. This would be important to an architect or designer that requires a certain set of hardware to make a high quality work station. This also could apply to gamer, video and photo editors that do high volume of rendering. However this Z1 does not have the touch screen feature capable, which i feel that is becoming the common thing since windows 8 launched. Instead for the Windows 7 users that have trusted windows 7 for a while now. This desktop is perfect for you. It comes with 32 or 64 bit version of windows professional, you may also get this machine with Linux installer kit or even no software preloaded. Yes there are many technical access available to a standard user. The design is made so anyone can service this Z1.  Yes the Z1 is able to be serviced even without tools. This is the biggest feature with this computer. Franky,  this is one computer that could last for a long time and be upgradable. The HP Z1 score a 90% A- for repairable without tools. An overall score would only at this point is 87% because of the lack of a touch screen capable feature. Every other hardware component seem to score very high and therefore may explain the price been so high compared to other All in one desktop.

Gateway also have and All in one desktop. You may not know much about the Gateway brand . They have been manufacturing computers for a long time. They have been owned by several different owners and have been recently purchased by Acer. Gateway has been making the All in one style desktop for previous model years and this is not their first. However the newest version of Gateway’s all in one. The Gateway One ZX series. First notable is the price range from $749.99 up to $949.99

which makes it significantly cheaper than the HP Z1 which is $1699 or more.
The Gateway one Zx series try to sell it self as a wall mounted multipurpose Tv/desktop computer with a touch screen, which is not a bad design since that maybe the direction that we going with technology. The Gateway Zx uses forms of hand gestures to interact with the 23 screen. This is seamless with the windows 8 operating system, The design of the Gateway one is  slim, 2.28″ deep, with a standard 23″screen. This Gateway one Zx series of computers claim style and balance stated by the Gateway product site in the U S.
This computer also have good graphics for gaming and streaming video for Tv viewing at the high-end. This desktop also offers video editing and gaming . The determining factor would be if it comes down to whether you want the freedom to upgrade when you choose or the touch screen technology. Because each unit have many of the same attributes and if price is a factor for students and just basic family home use the choice is clear. The HP Z1 is more of a professional build desktop and the Gateway ZX is more home / student machine.

The Skin is released with the HTC first. You can get this skin from the Google play store for other late versions of the android  os.  The Facebook skin runs like an app on other phones. On the HTC First it comes as the main operating platform that allows for direct Facebook interfacing . From messaging to photo sharing and Facebook updating.

The Facebook phone as all you need to do all things Facebook. Only available for the android devices.

I am mostly a fan of the chat head feature that allows me to chat easily without having to log on to Facebook account. I realize that this phone would require you to be always logged in to Facebook 24/7 and if your a paranoid person this is not the phone for you.

The features of this phone require gps tracking to be on geo tagging feature and all the features that tell exactly where you are every second of the day. This is a good thing if you get lost a lot. Not necessary for a person that need these features off.

The specs of this phone are average in comparison with top phones on the market. However, for the price, it seems pretty reasonable if you don’t mind the additional bloat that it comes with.

This is a good phone for a Facebook addict, And yes we all know a few of them don’t we?
