A cautious note for those who sleep in the air-conditioned room

A friend of mine has passed away recently while sleeping in an air-con room.

Please read the mail below and be careful.

Heard of a bad news regarding a female tertiary student. She passed away last weekend due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

It happened when she lighted an aromatherapeutic candle for the night in a room with air conditioning on and all windows closed.

Due to lack of oxygen in the room, the burning of the candle cannot fully oxidized & thus forming dangerous carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide will prevent oxygen exchange in the lungs, resulting the person dozing off to state of unconsciousness & eventually death in less than 1 hour, depending on the room size. I am sending this e-mail out to all of you so that you will be aware of such danger when lighting aromatherapeutic candles in any unventilated rooms.

Please forward this email to all your love ones.

If You Drive a Car, do not turn on A/C Immediately as soon as you enter the car!

Please open the windows after you enter your car and do not turn ON your air-conditioning immediately.

In brief, according to a recent research done, the car dashboard, sofa, air freshener will emit Benzene, a cancer causing toxin (carcinogen- take note of the heated plastic smell in your car).

In addition to causing cancer, it poisons your bones, causes anemia, and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukaemia, increasing the risk of cancer. May also cause miscarriage.

Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq.ft.. A car parked indoors with the windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level. The people inside the car will inevitably inhale an excess amount of the toxin.

It is recommended that you open the windows and door to give time for the interior to air out before you enter.

Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver, and is very difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.

This is not a Joke. But a cautious reminder to all readers.

We were advised to have a few servings of fruits a day in order to rep the benefits of fruits right? But obviously this is one big no-no fruit to be excluded from your fruity feast!

In Shenzen, more than 10 people who consumes the star fruit had died. And now a 66-year-old, Malaysian who has been suffering from kidney ailment fell into coma after eating the start fruits.

Yes, all it takes is one fruit or 100ml of its juice and the ordinarily harmless star fruit transforms poison in a matter of hours for kidney patients. So does this mean, people without kidney problems should be fine with star fruit! My take: Not at all! Prevention is better right?

Universiti Malaya Medical Centre consultant nephrologist said that star fruits contain a neurotoxin which is not present in other fruits. It affects the brain and nerves. In healthy persons, the kidneys filter it out. But for those with kidney problems, this potent toxin cannot be removed and will worsen the consumers’ conditions.

The symptoms of start fruit poisoning include:

Hiccups

Numbness and weakness

Feeling confused

Agitation

Epileptic fist

The risk of death is high if you are having kidney ailments! But healthy individuals should beware of this fruit’s potential toxin too. It could also cripple your vitality if you are not lucky. So don’t take it for granted. It’s better to avoid them. Please pass this news to others.

So be warned. If you have kidney impairment, DO NOT consume Starfruit or Starfruit juice.

Free radicals are highly reactive and unstable molecules produced by cigarette smoke, toxic chemicals, excess sunlight and even our body’s own metabolic processes.

These molecules can cause the mutation of proteins, membrances ane even our own DNA, leading to cancer and other degenerative diseases like heart disease and cataract.

Antioxidants obtained from plant sources have been proven to “anti-oxidize” free radicals and prevent their destructive effect on the body.

Restoring after a workout:

Although working out regularly is a good thing, it is also important to give the body a chance to rest. This is to avoid Delayed Onset Muscles Soreness or DOMS, which is the soreness or aching you may feel while your body recovers from training. If you’re a beginner, rest a day after every workout that is longer than 60 minutes. To enhance and improve muscle flexibility, using the rest days for low intensity stretching exercises like Yoga and Pilates

Recharging the body:

Whenever you exercise, the body will produce “happy hormones” known as endorphins. After which “calming hormone” an enzyme known as serotonin, will kick in to help you to recharge, stay calm and you can sleep soundly. This hormones helps your body fully recover and gives you a sense of overall well-being.

That is the reason why it is advocated that exercise is important for relaxation and de-stressing.
