Today I am thankful for freedom to vote. Some may say that votes don't count, or it doesn't matter because there is no change. But there are places where voting isn't a freedom they have. I cast my vote today in hope of a stronger America. I pray tonight and continuing on that no matter who wins, there is a change. I know who really is my leader and it's Jesus!

Ahhh. Today I am thankful for something that seems petty but with so many being without I see it as a much bigger thing! I am thankful for my favorite TV Shows! I know only one of these is on tonight, but I still like them all! It's not just the shows that I am thankful for. It's the way we get the shows, ELECTRICITY! It's the way we watch the shows, TECHNOLOGY! They amazing feats that have occurred because of the amazing brains God has given people. I mean the fact that we have electricity is like it was sent from Heaven! That we have been able to harness it and become so useful to have heat, lights, refrigeration, air conditioning, TV's, radio, computers, cell phones, the internet! It's all so important, I have went without for a week this summer and I missed it all the time. Now when there are so many others in the cold with no electricity, and homes gone, it reminds me again how blessed I am!

Today I am thankful for my home! It's a great little 2 bedroom Apartment I share with my sister. It's super close to where we both work, in a safe area, and not too far from our church. I say it's just on the edge of ghetto, but that helps with the price! There are several things that I have always complained about living here for the past two years, but now as I start looking for a new place, probably on my own, I am reminded how great our little place is! So right now I pray that God opens the doors that by February I can find another perfect place! I'm putting it on here so that when God answers my prayers I can see it! I would love to have a nice place, one bedroom, central air, a balcony or porch. I want it to be someplace that is not too far from work but also close to church and in a safe area, but the MUST is that it's in my VERY limited budget! The other option is that a roommate appears who can split the rent on a larger slightly more expensive of the above apartment! I know God can answer my prayer! I am leaving it up to Him to provide! I will be looking and doing what I can, but so far there is no such place that I am aware of!

Ok so it's after midnight. Technically I'm late, but with the time change I'll consider myself ok! Today I am thankful for those working behind the scenes. I learned that my cousin an her husband have been out in NJ helping with the cleanup. They have a food truck and they are there to help feed the workers. I have another friend whose husband is a utility worker. He is working overtime to help get the power up. I wen to see Wreck It Ralph tonight. (Great Movie!) It was a reminder that we all have a part and even if we think we don't matter, if we give up it causes all kinds of problems! We often think about the ones who are "working", or the "heroes"who get the major attention, but think about the ones who make it possible for them to work! Those who give up just as much for little to no thanks! So thank you to all who serve, big or small, known or unknown, in an emergency or every day. What you do is important and I thank you!

So today started off not so great. I got up headed out to be at work by 8am! I walked in and was informed that I had switched someone schedules and took the late shift (11a) and didn't write it down! GRRRR! I tried to find something to really be thankful for today and was just going to pick something "random" (not that I'm not thankful for the "random" things this is just relative to today!) So my thing I realized I was thankful for today was Humor!

Today I read a Laffy Taffy Joke and it made me laugh so hard!

30 days of Thankfullness

Today was a slow day at work. It was kinda one of those "everyone was in sugar coma" from their kids candy! This starts my favorite two months of the entire year! I LOVE Thanksgiving and Christmas! I have been listening to my music since the beginning of October and I think a local station starts playing non stop tomorrow! MAKES ME HAPPY!!!!! People ask me why I skip over Thanksgiving and give me all kinds of greif! I don't skip Thanksgiving, they just don't have the good music or decorations so I try and think of them as a 2 month Holiday and I LOVE IT! Thanksgiving is a time to remember what we are thankful for, so why press it down to just one day? I spread it out (I try to make sure I am thankful all year). God has blessed me with so much I have a hard time trying to remember sometimes that it is not natural for everyone to be this blessed! He is my most awesome God and I want to make sure I thank him EVERY DAY this month! So Day one of Thankfulness is for my Job!

I work in a call center as a Travel Agent. I believe this job is a gift from God. I was looking for ANYTHING and he literaly laid this in my lap (in the form of a newspaper ad!) I have been doing it for 2 years now and it has given me so many different oppertunities, and experience for my future dream! I know that having a job is a blessing, but having a job with a good boss and where you get great benefits is just overwhelming. "God please help me to remember to thank you even when things at work get crazy! Help me to show your love to the people I work with, both customers and coworkers!" Amen!

I want to Blog. It's weird but I want to have a cool blog that people read, and learn new stuff! But I don't know what to blog about! SO.... I guess I will just keep trying! I am a travel agent so I will try and post travel things.

I work with kids at my church so maybe it will have some stuff for kids.

I LOVE to cook and eat so food will be on here often!

I am single, and well there isn't much in that department so probably not alot there but if there is, I'm sure I will share! I'm an Aunt and I will for sure be posting about my little man!

I live with my sister and we like to have fun!

Ha so recently had my birthday. It was a big milestone one and it seemed like it was gonna be a good one! I stopped to grab cupcakes for my kiddoes at work and was ready to start my day! Well after serving the cupcakes 2 and 1/2 hours later I went to go on my break and well long story short I got to go home early; so I could treat my hair for lice :-( oh yea and clean my sheets and pillows and everything. Well the day just continued in that fashion as just as we were getting ready to leave for dinner I went to do another load of laundry and learned that I put too many pillows in the wash and the result flooded the basement and ruined the washer. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Sooo yea things did get better at dinner. House ofJapan! Mmmmm! And my present... Tickets to see Wicked with my sister and a couple of girlfriends!!!!!!! I can't wait!

Upward Basketball and Cheerleading

I had the oppertunity over the last 4 months to be the coach of 11 amazing girls because my church does Upward! It's an awesome program where you get to share Jesus with kids and their parents through the outlet of basketball and cheerleading! Last night was the award ceremony and although the season seemed long at times I was sad to see my girls leve for the last time! If you get a chance to be involved with upward in any way you should!

The beautiful weather has been a wonderful gift from God! Today was beautiful and I wish I wasn't so tired! Haha we had the early service and then the regular services which were great but it just made for a very tiring day so I took a nice long nap! But I had the oppertunity to take communion at the foot of the cross and it really was an amazing experience! I want to draw closer to Jesus every day! He did so much for me I just want to be near Him!I love you God! Thank you for what you have done for me!

I love kids! I have since I was a kid! I loved playing with babies and little ones all the time! As I got older I liked working with older kids more. My favorite age is 5th and 6th or even like 2nd and 3rd graders! so taking a job as a toddler teacher wasn't my first choice but it's a job and it's with kids! SOOO it's been tiring to say the least, but I love it! they are so cute when they are not, throwing toys, screaming, kicking, hitting, climbing, stealing toys, covered in poop, and although that sounds like most of a toddlers day, well I love them anyway!

Wow so working totally changes my life!!! My week was JAM PACKED! Working all but 1 day has made for a very tired life! haha it's been fun too I have had the oppertunity to hang out with friends and family more too cause well money has been in view! woo hoo! According to managers at both jobs I am a natural and they are really looking forward to having me on staff! I am excited to start a full week at the daycare center and will probably get more hours at the purse store! it's gonna be a busy but fun few months! Thank God!! oh and I am super excited cause the local station has officially started the Christmas Music!! woo hoo! only 47 days!!!

OK sooooo much has happened since I last was on. I decided I was going to live with mom and dad for a while and get a job in the area to keep up with the bills. So I went out to get applications in to different places until I heard from the 2 places I was really interested in for full time work. So to make a looooong story short I now have 2 confirmed jobs! I am going to be a toddler teacher at a day-care and working at a purse store part time! so we will see if it continues to work out! I am just sooo thankful that God has provided! He is awesome! I have also discovered my city more and wondered just why I didn't do this more before I moved? It's a great City and I am loving living here! NE way I have not been able to read so much since I have been looking for work and all but it's been ok. I'm excited for my favorite shows tonight! NCIS, and NCIS:LA! AWESOME!

Family is an awesome thing! I am so glad that God gave us family! Mine is amazing! Monday we had a family day. It has been years since it's been a whole day just the 6 of us! We started out the day going out for N's bday! Japaneses steakhouse is one amazing place! Then the 3 of us girls went shopping! Old Navy had all womens clearance marked an additional 50% off so well of course that was fun! even with a tight budget like mine! After a wonderful time of shopping all 6 of us went to a local park and took a walk and took some amazing pics! we got some of all of us, just the boys and just the girls, some of just the 4 of us kids. it was so much fun!!! and then last night after my sister and older-younger brother left we boarded up the old window in my room and rearranged everything! it's been an exhausting weekend but one that has been totally satisfying!

Busy weekend, Thursday and Friday were crazy busy with getting the house ready for my siblings to come visit. That involved me preparing my small room for other people to stay in it. Now with me living at home there is not alot of space for my things, thus the 75 bucks a month I am paying for a storage unit. Now it has been getting cold and I have been wearing flip flops in the cold, but that time had come to an end. I took my brother to help me get warmer clothes, shoes and coats. We drove all the way there and I forgot my keys, so we drove back (total 80 minutes home-unit-home-unit-home drive time) to get the keys and searched through tons of boxes (in the dark) to find warmth! I love him! it was so funny!!!! finally found the stuff and brought it home. so I spend friday taking out summer clothes and putting in winter stuff. Well since the others were coming in Friday night we had to take the summer stuff to the storage unit that evening, so making sure we had the keys we went, and as we were walking out the door mom wanted us to pick up some things at the store and dad wanted us to pick up something from church. So we were off. Got everything we needed and were almost back home when mom remembered she needed velveta. well we were close to a gas station and thought we would save time and go there. we searched and searched but they didn't have it. so we had to run to a store (translate10 minute drive, one way! after the 40 minutes round trip that we had almost made for the original trip) well by this time I had to PEE, and BAD! so he went to find the cheese and I went to the restroom. finally releived I set out to find him (no reception in the store) I see him walking down the aisles looking lost, so I start looking for the cheese. They keep it in the refrigerated section! who does that??? oh well. so I am now looking for my brother again and as I walk to the front of the store I see him, WALKING OUT THE DOOR! hello!!! I am still here!!!

haha so we find each other and get in the car to head home. we did beat my siblings back but just by a few minutes! haha. so much for a quick trip to the storage unit! Anyway today is my older-younger brother's birthday! but since we can't spend the day with him today we celebrated yesterday! woo hoo! happy day to him! ok well it's off to Sunday School I go! TTYL!

The invasion of the pumpkins!

Ha ha! So yesterday Mom and I totally attacked some pumpkins we had. And when I say attacked I mean it! Some of those little guys were ROCK HARD! we were hacking away at them with a saw and they were not cooperating! We made fresh pumpkin puree and mom made pumpkin bread, well that wasn't before she got it all mixed except for the flour and she asked me to grab it. UMM mom there is no flour! oops!!! SO I had to run to the store to buy flour. Now I am out and going to grab cream cheese so I can make pumpkin roll. It's gonna be good! Oh and JW have you ever had something happen that was HYSTERICAL and you wanted to share but you were sworn to silence? It stinks! Funny things happen!

So living at home has it's advantages, I mean free rent, no utilities, no food expenses really. It's kinda nice. No don't get me wrong there are disadvantages as well, i mean losing some privacy and having everything i do questioned is not the best thing, but I deal with it! I have tried to help out as much as I can. My most recent opportunity of helping resulted in injury! I was assisting my dad in installing a window in his and my mom's room. I was in the house and there was a bee in the room. Now I had gloves on and I tried to encourage the bee out of the open window as to in the end save it's life! But this bee saw this as a threat so it decided to sting me, through my glove!!! So I took off the glove and tried to find the stinger to get it out. I couldn't find it so I went outside to get my mom to look and see if she could find the stinger. By the time I got to her my thumb, finger and part of my palm had swollen. I now know I am allergic to bees! yippee! My swelling has gone down slightly but it is stiff and aches. Typing is not a breeze let me tell you that!

Oh and book of the week The Whitney Chronicles by Judy Baer It was really GOOD!!!

Ok so I had a GREAT idea for a post last night but I completely forgot it! haha! oh well! it happens!

SO what to post??? Last night I watched my favorite show NCIS! It's such a great show! and the spin off isn't bad either! hmmmmm? what else?The Library! I LOVE the library! I am actually there right now! I went to the Library at least once a week where I lived before and they had an AMAZING selection! The one I am at now is a bigger place and in a much larger city but the selection isn't as good. they have mostly old movies and few DVD's. but it's still a wonderful place to find good books! I am checking out Let them eat Fruitcake by Melody Carlson, and The Whitney Chronicles by Judy Baer. AND the best find of the day is movies for sale! I am getting Runaway Bride and a new movie I have never heard of The Man with One Red Shoe with Tom Hanks (1985) both on VHS and only .50 each! woo hoo! Well I better go! I have to run to the store and grab som beef bullion so I can make some French Onion Soup! woo hoo!!! Oh and please pray for some family friends they lost their father to ALS Saturday and the viewing is today.

OK so i know I should get better at this but it just doesn't happen!! well since January what has happened? ummm I resigned from my job (because I felt God leading me somewhere else), spent most of the summer still working at my job while i searched for this place God had for me (it was a chance to help out both the church and me while I looked), sat in shock while my little brother showed me the engagement ring he bot for his GF (love HER!), planned and threw a 25th anniversary surprise party for my parents (a great success!), moved back home to look for a job, visited seattle WA (i love you jess!), ummm and yea still havn't found a job! so yea that is pretty much my year so far in a nutshell! so yea I have been living with my parents (and youngest brother) for 2 full months now. It isn't the easiest thing in the world but it has saved me TONS of money! God has showed that He is faithful and will take care of me, and I trust Him, my only request is that he just clues me in as to where He wants me and SOON! (please!) ok sooooo what have I been up to recently, well the trip to seattle was wow over a month ago! it was fun! tried new things and had a relaxing time! I have pretty much helped out my parents and yea got a chance to catch up on some reading. Here is my only problem, authors I LOVE stop writing books!!!!! GRRR! I find a random Christian-Chick-Lit (CCL) book and fall in love with the style! then I look for more books and find out that they have like 3 total. ummmm yea that will last me like one slow weekend (which I have not had a large shortage of those lately, I love ya dad but I'm about done with the football ALL Saturday AND Sunday!!) so if you have any CCL books to suggest please do! ok and when I say CCL I mean not amish, or western, or crime novels, just light airy fun (with a message) chick lit books! The New Year

It's here and in full swing! The first week of the new year has come and gone and I can't help but wonder where it has gone!! 2008 was a year for growth. I really feel like I am a stronger and better person than I was at this time last year. God is working on me and I am excited to see what He has for me in 2009! One thing I am starting is really watching my weight, ha ha. but no really I have "kinda" been on the Weight Watchers program for a little over a year and I was losing!!! but I havn't been so great on it and I have gained some so I'm pulling out the stops and I'm going to the meetings and I'm going to lose the weight! So wish me luck cause here I go!!

So in case you didn't know I LOVE the holidays!!! I mean Thanksgiving, Christmas and the entire time before and in between is just my favorite time of the year! I am like a little kid! Right now I am on a bus heading to a place where I call home! It's not that I don't love where I live but the place where my Family is, that will always be home to me, so until I have a family of my own I will always be going home to be with Family! I think that makes the holidays even better cause you learn to really not take things for granted! I can't wait to see the ones I love and it will only be a few short hours until I am in my daddy's arms getting one giant bear hug, and seeing the huge smile on my mom's face! The tears are brimming my eyes now as I type cause this is something that I have been waiting on for almost 4 months now and I can truly say that The thing I am thankful for most this year is Home. The four simple letters has a whole new meaning to me!
