I can’t believe it’s been about 2 months since I’ve posted. My parents have been taking care of Pong Pong since they are in LOVE with her. She is enjoying the good life of being pampered and dotted on by my baby nephew. They’re getting along better ever since she discovered that he is the source of all delicious food.

Stroll in the Park

I finally did what I said I was going to do: explore the many parks of Somerset. This weekend, we headed up to Natirir Park and it was HUGE. It has a lot of open space and a nice little path.

Pongy took a pit stop before we made it into the actual ‘hike’ part. Haha.

There wasn’t anything to ’see’ per say, but it was still very beautiful :)

I think overall, Pong took about 5 pit stops. She (and me!) need to exercise more. hehe.

How to Train a Human

There are two ways that Pong Pong shows that she has to go out.

1. She sits and stare either at you or the door. It has to be a proper sit because she only does those at will. No noise is required since you instinctively feel a set of glaring brown eyes on you.

2. Scratching the door. This is a sign of ‘I REALLY HAVE TO GO’. It usually occurs when she has the runs or it’s been a while since MOM YOU FORGOT TO TAKE ME OUT.

I thought about teaching her to ring those bells you put on the door knob if she has to go.. but I’m afraid she’ll use it every 5 minutes because she can.. Plus whenever someone opens the door and it rings, she’ll think it’s time to go out.

Real first day

So this morning we went for a quick walk and Pongy decided that I was walking too fast so to slow me down, she just sat. Then lied down. I had to pick up her harness and get her back on her feet again.

Fast forward, I’m in my car getting ready to leave for work and realize I forgot my wallet. I go back in the house and didn’t close the door all the way. Bam, shiba gone. The little rascal had me chasing her for a good 15 minutes before she decides to jump into my car. So what the hell, I took her to work with me where she did absolutely nothing except sleep and the occasional begging.

The following are some pictures of the walk we took after we got home :) The sky was really beautiful.. it was like the sun was trying to break through after the rainstorm.

First Official Walk

New favorite Pet Store: Cherrybrook

So what’s the first thing you do after you move? You find the nearest pet supplies store! I stopped by Cherrybrook and it was pretty awesome. I used to have to head down to Princeton for quality dog food but no more! This one is about 10 minutes away from my apartment. On top of having bully sticks, they stock up on Orijin and premade raw food. Now I have absolutely no reason to try out raw. So I did :)

I bought a package of Nature’s Variety, Chicken & Turkey premade raw and going to try it starting tomorrow. I would’ve started it today but it has to be defrosted overnight.

I also got Pong Pong some Big Boyz Sweet Potato Dog Chewz (Sam’s Yams) and she LOVES them. I’ve even gotten her doing tricks for it!

In totally I spent around 50 bucks for Raw Chicken & Turkey Medallions (3lb), Yams Dog Chews, five 6’’ bully sticks, and one Busy Buddy Tug a Jug. The Busy Buddy is for morning kibbles so she’ll at least be entertained for a good 15 minutes after I leave for work.

Overall, good trip with the exception I almost got lost getting there. Yes, i know, it’s a very common occurrence..

Hiking with the Stooges

Since it turned out to be a beautiful weekend, we decided to go hiking. Pro: perfect weather, not too hot, not too cold. Con: mud puddles. The forest was still not dry from the gallons of rain that we received the week before.

So here are the three “what mud?” stooges:

It was about a two hour hike filled with uncrossable terrains and soaked shoes. It was very pretty though despite the almost dead vegitation around us.

Hopefully we can go hiking again soon :)

The above picture is from this morning. You can’t see them in the picture, but I saw a herd of deer prancing across the farm. It was a pretty awesome sight.
