Let me tell you what the problem is. Basically, whenever we're building a site, we are the only people who decide what should be featured on the site and in what manner. Despite that we might all be professionals, we still have a very limited possibility of accurately predicting what exactly will guarantee the best results on the new site. And that's where split testing comes into play.

As you might have guessed from this theme's name, Evangelist is our take on a Church WordPress theme. We have studied long and hard what makes a good website for ministries and churches, and we think we've found the perfect combination between complexity and added functionalities and ease of use

There's a common belief among professionals working with WordPress that having a self-hosted WordPress site is much better than "owning" a site at WordPress.com.
(First, why the quotation marks above? Well, the fact is that you will never actually own your site at WordPress.com. You're just leasing it. I know that the official material says otherwise, but the truth is, WordPress.com can shut you down completely at any moment and there's no legal action you can take to undo it.)

Links ... if I were to be poetic about them, I'd have to say that links are the main tool that allows us to browse the web and discover new and exciting sites. However, many site owners don't manage them in any particular way and don't pay much attention to what they link to, nor to who links to them.

To be honest, the topic of homepages for blogs isn't the most lively one out there. Everyone seems to focus on things like content, SEO, plugins and themes instead. But luckily, the time of change is finally here. A number of popular niche bloggers have decided to experiment and test various designs and layouts for their homepages. The most significant difference is that modern homepages are no longer classic listing pages.

In case you didn't know, Posterous is closing down on April 30, 2013 (or closed down on April 30, 2013 if you're reading this in the future). Here's the official memo: Posterous will turn off on April 30. "Turn off" is an interesting use of words. In fact, Posterous will be turned off completelyand you won't be able to do anything with your account after April 30.

New theme launched a couple of days back. It's called The Muse, an inspiration WordPress theme for anyone that wants to start his own blog.
We figured it's time to cater to bloggers as well and we came up with this minimalist theme that will let your content shine. This theme is a great choice if you are planning to start an inspiration blog.

There's one quite serious problem with WordPress from an online publisher's point of view... Any guesses? Even though the platform has grown a lot since its first version (the 0.7, no code name) and is now capable of running any kind of website, it still is, mainly, a blogging platform.

There are basically two kinds of problems or difficulties we can face with WordPress: ones that are apparent, visible and easy to notice, and ones that are completely invisible, yet can still impact the performance or results our sites have. Here, I want to talk a bit about both. And bear with me because some of them are going to sound really basic.

The idea behind this product is as powerful as it is simple. You can purchase a hosting pack together with a theme and a domain name (optional), and we'll take care of all the rest: configure the servers, attach the domain, install the theme. Together with our hosting partner WebHostingBuzz, we have created a hosting pack that fits perfectly with every theme we sell, so this is obviously one of the easiest ways to skip the hassle of setting up the whole (or)deal.

Yes, SEO again. The topic will never go out of date. At least as long as there's Google or whoever comes after. Anyway, this is about internal linking - linking to your posts from within your other posts on the same WordPress site. The benefit of improved on-page SEO is only the icing on the cake, so to speak. For me, the biggest benefit is improved readability.

Certainly no panic is involved here because content scraping is not the biggest problem among WordPress bloggers right now. However, it can very quickly become one in some specific circumstances. First of all, what content scraping is. It's when your content gets extracted from your blog (usually through your own RSS feed) and republished on a completely different site without your consent.

Retina displays have been around for quite a while now. And it was probably something like six months ago when I first got the idea for this post. But since WordPress itself (as a platform) wasn't Retina compatible at that time, I decided to wait a while before writing it, in hope that the space will get a bit more friendly in this area.

I know that the middle of the winter is not the peak of the vacation season in most countries, but being away from your main computer is still a pretty common situation. The concept of going mobile and all is fine, but admit it, if you’re not at your desk, with all the tools lined up and your desktop structured in that very specific way only you can understand then you don’t really feel 100% comfortable and productive.

Last time, I shared my “WordPress story,” talked about the things that happened when I first started working with the platform, and how it eventually became my main work tool. Quite frankly, the thing I’ve realized just now is that I’m working with WordPress every day. And it’s not something I could have predicted a few years ago.

Let me be honest and admit one thing right from the get-go. If it wasn’t for WordPress, I wouldn’t be where I am right now. And I don’t mean that I’m a particularly successful person, but the success I had is directly connected with WordPress.

Customer or user feedback in WordPress is one of those features that WordPress should probably provide by default, yet it doesn’t. Of course, a contact form is still on top of that list, followed by some basic SEO settings, but feedback functionality is still worth mentioning as one of the missing ones.

Here’s an interesting piece of WordPress reality … not everything published with WordPress is suitable for audiences of all ages. Even though about 99% of all WordPress sites don’t need any sort of age verification (not that I've done any serious research), I’m sure we can all imagine some individual scenarios in which such a thing is a must.

Here’s the thing. Two weeks ago (more or less) my site – newInternetOrder.com – got infected by some nice malware (the threat is gone now, it’s totally safe to pay me a visit). Okay, the malware was not nice at all. But as an engineer I do have to appreciate the cleverness of the code, so to speak. (More on which in a minute).

I really don’t know why it took me so long to write this guide… I mean, site speed is one of the most important characteristics for any online magazine, blog, product site, or any other website for that matter. I would even risk saying that it’s more important than the content itself. Why?

This month’s new theme is a powerful Wordpress template in the form of a Travel Agency website. Lots of work went into building it from the ground up with industry specific functionalities like filters, powerful search and tags. It caters to everyone who needs a travel agency website that has every bell & whistle you could think of and need. Searching for the right vacation is a breeze with our cool and powerful filters and functionalities.

A couple of days ago I stumbled upon a post at WPBeginner having a very similar title – How to Efficiently Manage Post Series in WordPress. In short, the post talks about managing a post series through one certain plugin. The idea is fine and all, but I think we can go a little more in-depth here and discuss some other possibilities as well.
