Most of you must have already noticed, that I haven´t been posting for more than a month. I simply don´t have the time and enthusiasm for this anymore. It was a great time with you and I hope you liked it too =)
I will keep the blog online, so posts like the wallpaper collection etc. wont get lost, but I will not be posting new stuff on here.

Minecraft - Pocket Edition

Mojang released the Pocket version of Minecraft today. The game will be Xperia Play only for a limited time, but will later on be playable with other android devices. It will not be a full version of Minecraft, but instead a version which focuses on the creation part of Minecraft.
36 Blocks are included in the first version and it will cost $6,99

Also, Jeb posted some 1.8 news on his twitter today:

We can see that pork chops are finally stackable and we can also see the new cow meat and steak icons. Looking forward to the Update!

MineCon 2011

This November (from the 18th to the 19th to be specific), Mojang will host the very first large Minecraft Convention or MineCon. It will also be the official launch of Minecraft 1.0.
Allthough Mojang is a european company, the event will take place in Las Vegas ._.

3 Million Sales And Enderman

Minecraft got downloaded the 3 millionth time today. That is something Mojang can be very proud of.
I´ve been gone quite some time, but now I am back to bring you the newest Minecraft news, as usual.
But first of, there´s some catching up to do:

Most of you will know, what that is, but let me explain to those, who don´t. This is the new mob, which will be implemented with 1.8. It is called the Enderman, referencing the slenderman meme.
The block in it´s hand represents it´s abilty to move blocks around in the minecraftian world. But unlike it´s appearance, the enderman is not a hostile mob. For the most part it passively moves blocks around and that´s all. But once you hover your crosshair over it, it will halt in it´s movement and stare at you. Then, when you look away again, it will charge at you and you have to either deafeat it or run away. Though running away might be very difficult, because the enderman can also teleport over short distances.
In my opinion, the creeper will lose the title "creepiest mob ever", once this one comes out.

1.8 Infos

I'm in holidays right now, so I will not be able to post as much, as usual, but here are some new infos on 1.8:
It is possible, that it will contain doubled map height, as shown on this screenshot:

We can also see, that the HUD has changed. There's now a food bar and something that looks like an experience bar.

There will also be at least 5 new food items, implemented by jeb. Here's one of them:

Page Overhaul And Evil Minecraft

As some of you already noticed, the blog got a graphical overhaul today and I am very happy about the result. We also have a way better contact page, than we had before. Let me know in the comments, what you think about it and how we can improve it.

But now for something completely different:

Evil Minecraft is a mod, that changes the game completely. The nice, green minecraftian world will be red with blood and evil mobs will roam the plains. The project is currently work in progress, but there´s already a handfull of evil videos out there:

Minecraft Beta 1.7.3

Notch just released 1.7.3, here´s the changelog:

- Corrected a block duplication bug when using pistons
- Corrected a redstone torch duplication bug when using pistons
- Corrected a client crash when placing a sign in front of the piston, powering the piston and then removing the block beneath the sign
- Ice blocks are now pushed without causing water streams breaking everything
- Booster rails are no longer being powered magically without a power source
- Pistons connected to the end of a piston-transistor via redstone are now properly closed when the power goes out
- Doors no longer create purple particles
- Hacking clients can no longer edit texts of placed signs in multiplayer
- Changed so that paintings pushed by pistons will pop off

Some 1.8 Infos

1.8, as most of you should have heard by now, will be the Adventure Update. It will add many features to the game making the exploration part of the game much more important, here´s what we know so far:

The terrain generator will be more diverse than before. It will contain ravines:

and a new biome with huge mushrooms.

The screenshot also contains some houses, which belong to the announced NPC-Villages (super excited :D)
Random generated ruins will also be implemented:

I already posted something about the new lighting engine, it will aslo ship with 1.8.
Other features are:
- New battle mechanics
- sprinting
- more farming (yay)
- A player list
- New "join server" menu
- A lot of new sounds (and possibly new music?)

So it´s safe for me to say, that 1.8 will be one hell of an update!
More infos as soon, as I know more.

2,5 Million Sales!

Phew, I haven´t posted in quite a long time, so expect this post to be somewhat longer.

First: Minecraft has passed 2.5 million sales today
That is truly a remarkable milestone and Mojang shows no sign of stopping. They are instead bringing Minecraft to the Xbox 360 and to Xperia Play!

The Xbox Edition will not be developed by Mojang, allthough Notch is still in command of game design decisions. Morr info for the Minecraft Pocket Edition can be found here.

Now lets get to the 1.7 Update:
It will be an adventure update, hopefully bringing new features in terms of fighting and exploration.
Notch has been very secretive about what exactly will be implemented, so we can discover the stuff for ourselves.
But what we know is that a new light engine, that separates the lighting into box- and skylight will come in 1.7, this means no more laggy change from day to night and different colors for the "block lights". A (very dark) example:

Jeb (yes, he´s back) has announced that pistons will finally come in 1.7, I am extremely excited about those.
Another feature that jeb implemented are shears, with which we can now collect the wool from sheeps or collect leaves from trees. They can also defuse TNT. Most likely a new hostile mob will be implemented. That´s it for 1.7 for now, of course I will post the complete changelog, once it is released as usual.
