With applying mineral makeup, it is very important to have a reliable make up base, or primer, as it will prevent mineral makeup from sitting in pores and enhancing fine lines, like normal makeup application.

I’ve previously tried Bare Escentuals Prime Time, Bare Escentual’s silicone based primer. It is lightweight, and the texture really resurfaces the skin as it fills in pores, fine lines, and did a great job in helping mineral makeup stay longer on the skin.

This is a gathering of lush shades, not just the expected ballet pink. For me, ballet is dramatic, emotional, and full of tragic beauty. With almost 20 years of ballet study, I watch not only dreaming that I could be on the stage, but knowing the iron strength and control that the most ethereal, graceful dancer must have.

“En Pointe” has a little bit of everything… plush matte shades with graceful iridescent highlights, a brilliant shimmering black and white that can make any color into whatever you imagine, and some lovely frosts with multi-faceted effects. Most of this year’s collections have been straight frosts with vivid sparkling highlights, but this collection is more understated while still being full of mystery and transient beauty.

They remind me of spring colors, just a bit more vivid. I think these shades are very very wearable, and I’m excited to get my hands on them. How about you, how do you find Aromaleight’s En Pointe Collection?

I’ve always been on the lookout for that perfect pressed mineral makeup out there. Mineral makeup is fairly new, as compared to traditional makeup, and trying to make pressed mineral makeup can be quite a challenge, doing away without preservatives, and binders that sometimes compromise quality.

When I came across the brand Colorescience, I was very curious about how it fared since it was the brainchild of Diane Ranger, mother of mineral makeup, and the founder of Bare Escentuals. Colorescience is an elite mineral makeup line that seeks to reconcile skin care and color ( makeup ) as it facilitates a good healing environment in the skin that highly complements dermatological procedures such as facial peels, laser procedures, and so much more.

The staying power is very impressive as well, as it stayed on the whole day, and although matte in texture, it dews up into a very natural, just flawless finish. I have noticed that real judge on how makeup fares is when the skin dews up and you get to see the final turnout. I’m very impressed with this, and feel that it works best using the Colorescience Sunreliable Primers. The primer makes the skin look all prepped and creamy, while the compact gives enough coverage, and they equate to beautiful, creamy, naturally beautiful skin.

If I were only to choose one product to buy from Colorescience, then the Colorescience Pressed Mineral Pigment would be my choice. And oh, for reference, for warm, medium skin like me, California Girl is super good. Lighter warm skin toned guys and gals can try All Even.
