Bezoek Radio Lila op <a

Kosten lidmaatschap Theosofische Vereniging

Voor 2026: € 79,- per jaar (inclusief Theosofia)
Transcriptie van de tekst: THE ORPHEUS LODGE was founded on 6th February 1910 as one of the daughters of the Mother Lodge of Edinburgh, in order to constitute the number of Lodges required to form a Scottish Section of the Theosophical Society, and with a view to helping forward the work of that Society in cordial co-operation with other local Lodges. It also cherished the hope of carrying Theosophical study into the field of art by giving illustrated lectures on comparative religious art, or on music, poetry, the higher drama and other appropriate subjects, and by lending its auspices, or other practical assistance of its members, to the artistic production of worthy work, whether ancient or modern. The carrying out of these hopes has been made easier through the welcome help of many talented artists, musicians, and actors—both professional and amateur—outside the Society; and Orpheus Members have, in their turn, co-operated with other Societies or coteries bent on similar work. Among the great dramas studied and in part produced under Orpheus Lodge or Theosophical auspices in Edinburgh may be named Shakespeare’s King Lear, Ibsen’s Emperor and Galilean (Part I.), Ibsen’s Peer Gynt, John Masefield’s Pompey the Great, and Rabindranath Tagore’s Sacrifice. Illustrated lectures have often been given, singly or in series, on great musical dramas such as Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelung, Tristan and Isolde, Parsifal, Tannhäuser, Lohengrin, Mozart’s Magic Flute, Gluck’s Orpheus and Euridice, Holst’s Savitri, Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Maeterlinck’s Bluebird, as also on the works of great novelists, poets, and musicians—Browning, Tennyson, Scott, Masefield, William Morris, George Meredith, George Eliot, Bulwer Lytton, Kipling, De Morgan, George MacDonald, Chopin, Lizt, and Scriabine, special heed being given to their outlook on life and its problems, and their treatment of philosophical and religious beliefs. The Orpheus Lodge is affiliated to the Arts League of Service, and is warmly interested in the fine work done by that organisation; as also in the achievements of the Theosophical Fellowship of Arts and Crafts; and in 1914 its officials organised a study group which attended the Stratford-on-Avon Shakespeare Festival. Individual Orpheus Lodge Members are encouraged to affiliate with other Lodges whose programmes of study may attract them, and it is also hoped that an increasing number of Members from other Lodges will affiliate with the Orpheus and so help to further the work which reaches many who do not care for lectures, but who are stirred to deeper and more spiritual thought when noble teaching is presented in artistic form. Affiliated membership (2/6 a-year) is open only to those who are Members of the Theosophical Society already; but those who are in sympathy with the artistic ideals held, and who desire to forward the study and production of great works not often available for the public, are welcome to join the Orpheus Lodge as Associates (Subscription, 5/- per annum), whether they are Members of the Theosophical Society or not. President—Miss I. M. PAGAN. Hon. Secy. and Treas.— Mrs BLAINE DOUGLAS.
Table of contents: Lesson I: The law of motion, showing how all material forms are merely the product of definite rates of motion in the ether, and how even the energies and forces of nature are merely the product of definite rates of motion. The entire field of vibration is therein reduced to an exact science ; Lesson II: The law of opposites, showing the electro-magnetic polarity of all things in nature, as the cause of their differentiation, thus giving the key to things in themselves, viewed in the abstract, and not merely in the relative, and the concrete ; Lesson III: The law of balance, showing the perfect balance of all things, when the pairs of opposites are made to balance one another; thus showing the working of the law of compensation throughout all nature ; Lesson IV: The law of rhythm, showing all opposite principles to be merely the positive and negative poles of the same thing ; Lesson V: The music of the spheres, showing the music of the spheres to be a fact in nature, and the relation of the same to astronomy and vibration ; Lesson VI: The rhythm of life, showing the nature of life and giving an analysis of the rhythm which results in life ; Lesson VII: The rhythm of mind, giving the nature of mind and the rhythm which manifests itself as mind, giving the origin of the diverse faculties, and the cause of the various functional areas of the brain, the genesis of thought ; Lesson VIII: The key note, showing the organization and integrity of all bodies to be due to the harmonious co-operation of the vibratory forces constituting them; in fact gravitation itself is shown to be merely a matter of the key note applied to molecular vibration ; Lesson IX: The esoteric meaning of color, showing that the color of any object depends solely upon the rate of vibration within the component atoms, also giving the signification of all auric colors on the same principle ; Lesson X: The building of the cosmos, showing conclusively that all form is merely a result of definite rates of vibration, and therefore, that the cosmos was built through vibration ; Lesson XI: The fourth dimension of space, being an analytical discussion of the fourth dimension ; Lesson XII: The fifth dimension of space. In this lesson the principle of vibration is extended to the discussion of the fifth dimension of space, and an ultimate science of fifth dimensional nature founded thereon.<br
