Each and every women is concerned with being able to prevent breast cancer. Breast cancer is one of the biggest killers of women each year. Every year researchers spend so much money trying to find a cure for breast cancer. But, of course, the best route of staying safe is to just take every step you can to prevent breast cancer.

Omega 3 fatty acids and breast cancer prevention go hand in hand according to a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The results aren’t conclusive as of yet, but many more studies have come out also indicating this connection. Omega 3 fatty acids can be found in fish oils and flax seed oil. They contain anti-inflammatory compounds and contribute to your hearts overall health. The anti-inflammatory nature of this compound could be what helps to prevent breast cancer.

Fish and flax seed are where omega 3s usually come from. Since most people consume minimal amounts of these foods, most people have a moderate omega 3 deficiency. This can really be harmful to some parts of your health. Which can lead to heart problems and depression. Additionally, it can really interfere with your immune system which could cause some serious auto-immune issues.

The auto-immune issue is where researchers are tend to believe that omega 3s can also contribute to breast cancer prevention. Since cancers are caused when cells literally go “haywire,” an anti-inflammatory agent could play a role in calming cells down. When cells calm down they won’t get the chance to start dividing uncontrollably and you can steer clear of cancer.

Most people trying to prevent cancer will start taking a daily omega 3 supplement. At the least they are really contributing to many facets of their health like heart health and memory functions. The jury is still out on whether omega 3 supplements can definitely help prevent breast cancer, but it is certainly wise to be prepared.

Stress is one of the most dangerous health problems in existence today and when we ignore the signs of stress it could cause some major problems. Stress has been known to cause health problems, effect mental performance, have an impact on your energy levels, among many other things. Stress is a fact of life but that does not mean you can not manage stress properly.

Management of stress levels can be done without the need of taking drugs or getting a doctor involved in your everyday life. Following simple and easy steps you can have your stress levels kept at a minimum, thus giving you control over your everyday life.

* Getting to know what stressors are

Because we are all different and handle situations in different ways, we all will have stress that bothers us in many different forms. Some get excited over new technology in our ever changing world whiles others find it difficult to deal with these many changes and new technology. Some may get thrilled over playing video games while others find video games very annoying. Getting to know what your stressors are is a very important step in learning how to de-stress yourself.

After you get to know what the problem is causing your stress levels to raise then it will be just a matter of learning how to de-stress yourself. By getting to know what has caused your stress to begin with then you can face those stressors easier and learn what it takes to stop the stress from effecting your life.

* Find out how to de-stress yourself

Since you took those those first steps in finding out what your stressors are, next you want to find out now to de-stress yourself. Some find it extremely relaxing by getting away from it all and having fun to lesson the effects stress can have. Others may find it easier to get rid of stress by just staying indoors and and shutting out the outside world for awhile.

Many people set de-stressing aside thinking that if they take time out to handle their stress then they will never get anything done. Actually this is not true, by taking the time to de-stress yourself you will find that you will be able to do things in less time. Allowing your body and your mind to relax and become de-stressed you will be able to function better which will improve your performance.

* Helpful ways to get de-stressed

Following some simple advice sometimes will help you learn what you need to get de-stressed when your stress levels are high.

1. Make sure you have the house to yourself, next make sure all the blinds are closed and light some scented candles in the living room. Turn off all the lights in the house and turn on some soft mellow music. Get yourself comfortable on the couch in the living room where you lit the candles. Lay down and relax and close your eyes and just take in the soft sounds of the music.

2. Take a mini vacation for a few days, make plans to go to a spa or a retreat. While you are at the spa make sure to relax as much as possible and use every feature the spa has to offer. Leave work at home and make sure nobody knows where you are so you will not get any phone calls. After a few days you would be surprise at how refreshed you feel.

3. Go on a camping trip and spend some time in the wilderness. Leaving all the stress of home and work behind you. Take the family and find a nice camping site preferably in the mountains that has hiking trails and a large lake then setup your camp. Spending time outdoors and do some hiking and some fishing away from the busy world is a great way to get yourself de-stressed.

The above simple advice should give you an idea on where to start on how to have a de-stressed life. When the body has rested and has de-stressed, that is the time when your mind and body can function at its optimum levels.

The neti pot has been becoming more popular lately. Before you decide to use it for your sinus related problems, you may want to know a bit about the history of the neti pot and how it is actually supposed to function. After all, you always want to know as much as possible when your health is involved.

The neti pot has been used in the Indian yogic tradition for no less than millennia. It is extremely old, which speaks well for its ability and effectiveness. It is also known as jala neti. It was not introduced into the United States until the 1970s. It emerged through the widely popular yoga culture. It was actually used as a device during meditation.

As good as the neti pot may be, the hydro pulse may be a much better choice. Its more modern pulsatile irrigation works well.

Even after yoga turned into a rather mainstream practice, alternative cultures continued to use the neti pot. For example, it is now a part of Ayurvedic medicine.

The neti pot is used in nasal irrigation, also known as nasal lavage. It is something used in personal hygiene, but it can also improve certain aspects of your health. Basically, your nasal cavity is essentially cleaned out. This will flush out any excessive debris and mucus out of your nose as well as your sinuses. Almost anyone could benefit from a nasal irrigation system, they are powerful.

The pot itself has been described as looking like a hybrid of a gravy boat and a magic lamp from Arabian nights. Its form makes this flushing process easier. The pot is most often filled with warm saline, or salt water. Sodium bicarbonate is sometimes added. The grossan sinus irrigator is an interesting choice.

The spout of the pot goes into one nostril. The liquid goes into it. Ideally, you would want the solution to either go through your nasal cavity and into the back of your throat. That allows you to spit it out. The other method is having it go into your other nostril and then stream out of it.

Antibiotic herbs – the organic approach to killing harmful bacteria and protecting ourselves against bacterial infections.

Antibiotics are among the most frequently prescribed pills and medications around the world. Bacterial infections are probably the most common type of attack on the human body. They affect just about everyone, young, old, and healthy alike. And very often, doctors prescribe antibiotics to treat these types of infections.

However, there is more than one way to kill an infection, and some herbal remedies can do just the trick. These are used by many people around the world, including the U.S. because they can be work well, with far fewer side effects than prescription medications. The following herbs are some of the herbal remedies that work to fight common bacterial infections.

Tea Tree Oil: Tea tree oil is a common antibiotic, antiviral, and antiseptic essential oil that can be found in many health supplement stores. Tea tree oil has many applications, but is most popular as an acne treatment. All it takes is a several drops of tea tree oil diluted with water, and then applied to the face as an acne remedy and an acne preventative. Because of the antibacterial properties of Tea tree oil, it can also be applied to cuts and scrapes to stop potential infections.

Garlic: Garlic is a great herb with antibiotic properties. Besides the culinary applications for garlic, it is a natural antibiotic in which some studies have shown it to be as effective as penicillin. The active compound for it’s antibiotic properties is Allicin, which is chemically related to penicillin. Garlic gel-caps are popular with people who want to use the antibacterial properties of garlic, however, fresh garlic will work as well.

Garlic is often taken to stop ear, nose, and throat infections. It also works against sinus infections and digestive system infections (bladder, etc).

Garlic can be applied to the dermatitis and fight off staph infections and oral thrush. It also has anti-fungal properties, and can ward off ringworm, athletes foot, and even yeast infections.

Goldenseal – Goldenseal is another herb with antibiotic properties. It is often taken for internal infections, like throat, sinus, or even bronchial infections. this isn’t the herb to apply topically but if you want to avoid infections from cuts, scrapes, and burns, you can take it internally.

Do NOT take goldenseal if you have any form of diabetes or hypoglycemia, because it can act as a natural source of insulin.

Echinacea – is also has some amazing antibiotic properties. Two common applications is to prevent or kill lymph node or strep infections. It is best used as tincture that you can take 5 – 10 drops of and put into tea or hot water. The most popular use of echinacea is as a flu or cold remedy, and it can reduce symptoms of both.

Lemon Balm Tea – Although Lemon balm doesn’t have quite the antibiotic properties of the other herbs, it is a powerful antiviral. It has been clinically proven to have some benefit against the herpes virus, and is a lab studied, proven anti-viral herb. Just how effective it is as an antibiotic isn’t yet known, , but since viral attacks on our immune system are frequent, and sometimes serious, lemon balm should be taken along with the rest of the remedies listed to ward off infections of all sorts. Lemon balm really is one of many natural flu remedies.

Would you like to pasture kidney stone at home? You’re not alone. Thousands of people are searching every day for natural health advice regarding kidney stone pain and passage of kidney stones. Unfortunately, western doctors do not have much to say about how to flush kidney stones painlessly. Better yet, wouldn’t it be great to figure out how to avoid kidney stones?

Most doctors advise patients to drink water to pass the stone. This may work for kidney stones smaller than 5mm. However, larger stones may require adjustment in diet, vitamin and mineral intake, and the use of certain simple remedies.

Natural remedies for kidney stones have been around for centuries. It has been only in recent decades that natural remedies have been researched. Regarding kidney stones, some natural remedies have proven to work.

Most western medical establishments steer clear of natural medicine and holistic health practices. Many doctors and hospitals consider the subject taboo. Nonetheless, natural health and holistic medicine continues to grow at an intense rate, especially as research verifies the validity of so many natural remedies.

We will look at four natural remedies that assist with passing kidney stones. Before you try these remedies, and discuss them with your medical professional. It is up to you and your doctor to determine the status of your health situation.

Consider a plan to supplement magnesium to your diet daily. Try to add about 350mg daily. This dosage has been found to eliminate kidney stones in most patients. Over the past 40 years the effects of magnesium on kidney stones has been researched and the conclusion has been consistent. Magnesium appears to help rid the body of kidney stones.

It is also a good idea to avoid snacks and foods high in sugar content. This includes sugary soft drinks and juices. Sugar has long been associated with the formation of kidney stones and should be avoided until your kidney stone passes. It is highly recommended that you eat only natural sugars, such as those that occur naturally in fruits.

Drink vegetable and fruit juice in addition to water. Include carrot, grape, and orange juice in your diet. These fruit and vegetable juices contain high levels of citrates. Citrates help reduce the buildup of uric acid and calcium salts in your kidneys. Including citrates in your diet will, thus, help eliminate the cause of kidney stones.

Lastly, eat foods, such as asparagus, wheat grass, and fresh parsley that are high in chlorophyll. High levels of chlorophyll have been proven to cleanse the kidneys and help eliminate kidney stones.

People go without sleep constantly. Everyday there is something causing us to lose sleep. Whether it is stress, work, school, or anxiety, insomnia can come about. On top of the already ailing problems, insomnia can cause other health problems. Traditional Chinese medicine has its own way of dealing with insomnia and curing it.

Our medicine is greatly different than that of traditional Chinese medicine. For example, most people with insomnia will go to their doctor and be prescribed a sleeping pill. Chinese medicine takes a different route. It is a more natural route that chooses to find the real reason you are suffering from insomnia. One of those ways is that the major organs of the body house our Spirit and when there is a problem with those organs insomnia is just one of the many problems that arise.

Traditional Chinese medical books have many listings of insomnia and what causes it. There are also many different types of insomnia that give variations of why the person is losing sleep. Some of these types are dream-disturbed sleep, difficulty falling asleep, waking up easily, and waking up at the same time each night. One or more major internal organs in the body is the cause of one of these sleep problems.

When Chinese doctors are diagnosing insomnia they tend to look for other symptoms. Whenever the heart and kidney are misaligned, for example, the person will have light headedness, weakness in the lower back, palpitations, and get flushed easily. People with spleen/ heart deficiency are forgetful, have poor concentration, and are constantly worrying.

The kidney seems to be the most common organ to observe for sleep problems, especially insomnia. According to traditional Chinese medicine, when the kidneys are not capable of storing energy then insomnia incurs. When the kidney is unable to hold on to energy it will ascend to the heart and disturb it. This will keep the person awake.

A cure for insomnia according to Chinese medicine is acupuncture and herbal therapy. People, who have suffered through years of insomnia, find amazing results. Chamomile, lavender, lemon balm, passion flower have been known to be good herbal cures. The medicinal qualities have proven to work. Massages or acupressure, also, tends to work very well. It is like acupressure in that it adjusts the energy within the body.

Insomnia is an ever increasing problem in our country. We try to solve it by taking a pill, but that does not make the issue go away. Chinese medicine focusing on the inner workings of the human body to solve the problem is on the right track. Maybe this is good advice for anyone suffering from insomnia.

Elm trees may be found growing throughout the eastern United States and even into Canada. They are especially found in the Appalachian Mountain region. The Dutch elm disease that ravaged so many of the other species did not affect the slippery elm much. It is also called sweet elm, red elm (because of the wood color), moose elm, and Indian elm.

The Slippery Elm grows to a height of 30 to 60 feet. The leaves are about 6 inches long, growing alternately on the branch, and have a rough texture and coarsely double-serrated edges. The flowers appear before the leaves in early spring in clusters of ten to twenty. The fruit is half an inch long containing a single central seed. Slippery Elm may be distinguished from American Elm by the hairiness of the buds and twigs and by the very short-stalked flowers.

Because of the $23 billion dollar herb industry in the United States, slippery elms have been the object of poachers. The bark is slippery and easy to peel from mid June to early July so thieves destroy the trees by removing the bark to sell for its medicinal value.

One illegal and immoral use of the bark is as an abortafaciant. Longer pieces of the bark are moistened with water, then inserted into a pregnant woman’s uterus. Drugs from the bark are said to induce an abortion. This practice resulted in so called “Elm Stick Laws” in many states limiting the size of the bark sold. Because of this possible effect, pregnant or lactating women should avoid using slippery elm. There are no other documented hazards in taking the herb.

Elm was used by colonists to make pudding, to thicken jelly, to preserve grease, and as a survival food on long trips. It was used medicinally to treat toothaches, skin injuries, gout, arthritis, stomachaches, coughs, and intestinal worms.

The inner bark was also used to waterproof baskets, canoes, and dwellings. As mentioned above, in times of famine, early American settlers used it as a survival food. George Washington’s troops survived partly on slippery elm gruel during their winter at Valley Forge.

The inner bark of slippery elm is a strong and durable fiber, which can be spun into thread, twine or rope. It can be used for bowstrings, ropes, jewelry, clothing, snowshoe bindings, woven mats, and can even be used in some musical instruments. The wood was used for the hubs of wagon wheels, as it is very shock resistant because of the wood’s interlocking grain. Once cured, the wood is also excellent for making matchless fires with the bow drill method, for the wood grinds into a very fine, flammable slippery elm bark powder under friction.

Taken internally, slippery elm bark is a bulk dried herb that can be used to relieve gastrointestinal conditions, ulcers, and respiratory irritations. The bark also contains a substance that is used by some as a remedy for sore throats or as a cough medicine. External uses include treatment of skin conditions, vaginitis, and hemorrhoids. It will also make the skin smoother and softener.

Internally, adults should take three 500 mg capsules daily. To make tea, use one part slippery elm powder to eight parts water. You can also add the powder to oatmeal or juice. For a poultice, add coarse powdered bark to boiling water until the desired consistency is reached. Then apply to the needed area. The above herbal dosages are generally calculated for a 150 lb adult. Children’s dosage should be calculated proportionally by weight.

So, buy herbs in bulk and enjoy their health boosting properties.

I guess this article would be classified as a review of the hydro floss oral irrigator based on personal observation and use. This is a powerful tool that should be talked about. 8gtc6453ej

At one point, my dentist and her assitant hygienist wanted to convince me that something had to be done about my gingivitis problems. They seemed very strong and even a bit forceful that I really needed this treatment.

Their plan involved something called a ’scaling and root planing’. This is also referred to as a SRP.

I would like to have heard something very different. It just didn’t sound like it was something that I wanted to go through.

The dentist’s helper exclaimed that she intended to dig around below the gum line with special tools that she had been trained to use. This would allow her to remove the build-up of tartar there. She also intended to make the surfaces smooth so that it would be harder for calculus build-up to return.

This procedure appeared to be even worse than I first imagined. It was no comfort to hear her say that she could numb my gums up so that I wouldn’t feel a thing!

At this point, I knew it was going to hurt whenever the medication wore off. This was not the kind of life experience that I would remember fondly.

She explained that should I decide not to have this therapy, they could not be held accountable for what could happen to my teeth. I was required to display that I understood by signing a waiver document. Could things get any worse?

Candidly speaking, I imagined that I was becoming the victim of some slick marketing tactics. It was difficult to believe this was anything other than a slick marketing ploy.

Then there was the item that pushed me over the edge a bit.The dental assistant suggested that it would really be best for me if they started today. She was interested in replacing my regular cleaning with this special treatment.

The logic she used made sense. The big sticking factor seemed to be insurance. Should I get the standard, regular cleaning procedure now, insurance might not be inclined to pay for the advanced one later.I wanted to follow my instinct which told me that I needed some time to ponder this before agreeing to it.

I felt strongly opposed to this for some reason, therefore I said, “no” to the treatment.Strangely enough, the waiver was never mentioned again after that.

This whole situation seemed a bit bazaar to me.I felt that their HAD to be another way to heal my gums.

I discovered that someone I knew had this procedure performed on her. She told me that she was unhappy with the outcome.

I searched around for an answer.I ‘discovered’ the hydrofloss. I sent away for one.

I was hopeful and a bit anxious when the package with the hydro floss arrived. For some reason, they were supposed to send me a video with the HydroFloss but it was not to be found in the package.

I wrote to them and said that I would really like to have the video instructions. From that point on it there were no more problems and the video was mailed to me. I felt upbeat after watching the video.

I really felt sure that this device was going to be useful. As a result, I found myself using it often every day.

I would say about five months had gone by when I went back to the dentist. I was very happy, based on how they reacted.

The same assistant and doctor took a good look at my gums. Each agreed that there was a vast improvement. They said that I would not need that scaling and root planing treatment afterall.

You most likely realize that I was very, very happy to learn of my results. I continue to utilize the hydro floss every day, unless I’m out of town travelling.

If you have been wondering if the HydroFloss is really worth it, let me tell you: In my opinion, it really is worth it! This opinion is simply built upon my experience with this device.
