Cutting Chai!!!!

2011-12-20T13:55:00.000-08:00

At the gym over a wallowing chat,

Popped out an idea that for once didn’t fall flat…

'Cutting chai it is!!' said a friend with glee.

And here I am on a cooking spree.

Mornings I spend happily cooking for friends

In a kitchen with no more odds and ends

Afternoons spent working for a cause

Gladly getting back to life without a pause....

Out of the blue.....

All her bags unpacked,

Books and Apparels primly stacked.

Well settled by the window facing the new green;

Admiring the new sheen;

She thinks about the months that have passed,

With no deadlines yet questions asked.

To her it seemed like time well spent,

Although, she wishes she had grasped the accent.

She started to blog with dollar dreams,

To realize it’s not as easy as it seems.

Chirpy times with the kids she adores,

Blended with broody dragging chores.

Hours together at a coffee shop,

With paper, pens and latte to drop.

Travel, dance, food, books and a lot more

Barely sums up to the mere months by the shore

Clothes from the washer have come out clean,

I solve a few problems of median mode and mean.

The dishes are done and there is nothing in the sink,

Which gives me some time to sit back and think.

I blog a few lines nonsensical to some it seems,

Such is the life I lead with extremes……..

To my iPhone,

Loving someone new and still thinking about you,

I realized this day, is not the right thing to do.

I don’t want to let you go, but inside me I know I must;

Wish I were rich enough to see you gather dust.

I shall pray you find a way to live,

To the best bidder I shall give.

300 dollars I quote for thee,
Friends who want it cheaper may contact me.

A quick catch up my cheesy way.....

2011-04-14T14:50:00.000-07:00

Its been a month since I blogged and hence,,,,

Joyfully the month began,

With fun and frolic under the sun.

Few times I was caught in the smog,

The other times I slept like a log.

Chicago it was this week and last,

Before we could realize two weeks had passed.

To hit the road “written test” I did clear,

For the road test I am preparing to gear.

Dull moments passed by at the blink of an eye,

The book that I now read is Catcher in the Rye.

As a kid you liked another’s toy,

Toys your own fetched no joy.

In adolescence you wanna be,

Someone you are not meant to be.

As an adult you tend to condescend,

For many reasons you have failed to transcend.

The more you compared ,the more you cried,

For the grass less green on the other side.

Hip Hop Non Stop...

2011-03-01T09:40:00.000-08:00

Hip Hop while you read..for my rhyme to not sound cheesy!!

With some money in my pocket,

I took the space rocket…

For a dollar ..I had no change

Shelled out 5 times ..with no E-X-C-H-A-N-G-E

YO hip hop..It began Y-E-S-T-E-R-DAY.

Can’t wait no more for next Monday..

I took my first hip hop lesson yesterday...and the public transport for the first time in this country!!

Two lessons learned,

1 ) Always carry with you exact change 10 coins-3quarters,1 dime,2nickel and 4 pennies. With this combination you can produce any number between 1-99 cent and won’t end up paying 5 times the cost like I did!

2) Hip hop is the next best thing in the world after cheese!!!

I wanna hip hop non stop ..without full stop!

When 'WRONG" happens....everyone loves to write!!!

Words not their own as their own when they speak,

Entertaining it is to watch them squeak.

A few such goof ups in this post you will see,

I can laugh out lungs until these happen to me.

"On a more personal note, allow me to express my profound satisfaction regarding the happy coincidence of having two ... Portuguese-speaking countries here today." Oops

In his defense,watch this one..

Davison failed to convince the Stark County Republican Executive Committee to endorse him for county treasurer after his jaw-dropping—plea for the party nomination.

By The Way....Davison won more notoriety than most local pols get in a lifetime of service!!!

Last Laugh!!

Some were incredible I shortlisted two!!!

Speed Thrills!!

2011-02-14T14:22:00.001-08:00

Each book I read, I long to complete ,

With a distracted mind I struggle to compete.

Strenuous it is to my egghead so tender,

To go about reading in the right order.

The longer I take to finish a book the sooner I lose interest.

Therefore,my slow start for 'Need for Speed' begins today with THE 100 by Michael H.Hart; An interesting read that contains biographies of the 100 most influential persons in history, along with the author’s reasons for ranking them in a certain order.

Pages: 550

Timeline: 10 days!

They say, blogging is one of the best ways to form a habit,it keeps you accountable.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating though !! : p

For Shivangi the Bride to be......

2011-02-09T13:49:00.000-08:00

In just two weeks for the bride to be;

Skin deep “ beauty” is not meant to be.

Pamper yourself with lotions and steam,

Worries and stress are beauty’s other extreme.

Juices and fruits instead of chocolates and wine,

Beauty sleep is all you need for your skin to shine.

The goodness of water you already know,

We can’t wait to see the stunning bride glow.

As you happily look forward to all you're dreaming of, may you be blessed with love and happiness forever!!!!

Randomness!!

2011-02-08T12:23:00.000-08:00

Nauseous it is,

When time flies in sound sleep,

To wake up and discard the junk heap;

Dishes to wash and laundry to do;

Much ado for just us two.

Nauseous it is,

When, you want to read,

Your eyes shutdown in rapid speed.

Nauseous it is,

When you have nothing to do,

You are buzzed with the question"what do you really want to do?"

When herd mentality makes economic sense!!!

2011-02-07T15:31:00.000-08:00

As Birds of a feather we flock together,

And knock of a few dollars for one another. : )

For a 20 year old" koolio",

Dinner with friends at a five star ,a blackberry that matches his guitar …

Partying at Enigma with the girls who want perfume and spa…

May now be an affordable indulgence, with group buying sites springing up each day.

Group buying sites operate upon a very simple business model. The websites feature promotions with a predetermined discount and a minimum number of buyers. The limited time period creates a sense of urgency, prompting impulse purchases. All interested buyers must provide their credit card information, but are only charged if the deal goes live. Little money is locked up in working capital because the group buying website either bills the entire amount of the purchase upfront and retains a commission before passing the rest of the payment onto the merchant, or charges a token amount and directs the user to pay the rest at the merchant's site. If the deal does not materialize, the group buying site isn't stuck with any back inventory because the discounted service or item is sourced at the participating business. Buyers receive vouchers for their purchases via e-mail or text message and they have anywhere from one to three months to redeem the offer.

Group buying sites in India and the USA you'll might want to compare,

Nearly a decade ago Marcata a group buying site funded by Microsoft burst onto the scene with these bold words."If you're not part of the we-commerce revolution, you're history!"The " revolution" began appropriately enough on July 4, 1999 and died an untimely death.

A few back dated news articles on Marcata should make an interesting read!!

Head in the clouds!!

2011-02-03T18:40:00.000-08:00

Anything I lay my hands on either breaks or disappears;

With lost and found glories I have survived all these years.

Most promises made are not just broken but forgotten;

Many like me with this blog I wish to enlighten.

Ever since I can remember I have spent most of my time searching for things that had disappeared into oblivion. I attributed such occurrences to black magic and sometimes even Alzimers until ,I bumped into zillions of tips on how to tackle absent mindedness !!

The most fascinating of all was this website for distracted people www.distractedpeople.com .

Being distracted is human and it is good to be human!! ; )

A few tips to avoid adversity…

Simplify your life. "Don't be overwhelmed by too many things at once, and take tasks one at a time,"
Get proper rest and nutrition so you are in a well-rested frame of mind.
Keep to a schedule. "People who stick to a schedule are less absentminded than people who don't,"
Get plenty of exercise, both physical and mental. "Challenge the brain in new and creative ways throughout life,"
Keep items that you use every day in the same place all the time. "Find a place in your house and consistently put your keys or your eyeglasses there, like on the mantle or on the table by the door,"
Make effective use of cues and reminders, like sticky notes or a calendar. "Most absentminded errors can be overcome by having access to reminders,"

As annoying as absentmindedness can be ,it saves us from remembering all of life’s dull moments as well as setting us free to think in abstract terms. : )

As pressure mounts.....

2011-02-01T15:04:00.000-08:00

I have been on a cooking spree,

To share a lesson or two with glee!

A culinary gadget under immense pressure,

A friend in the kitchen we must treasure!

With a few abominable experiences comes wisdom! : )

As much as I love cooking ,I have dreaded the screeching squealing culinary gadget all my life!

To conquer my fears I decided to learn everything there is to pressure cooking.

The link below mentions the few things one needs to know to avoid untoward occurrences in the kitchen (no spookiness intended) all I meant was disastrous explosions!!

"When we long for life without difficulties remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure"

Happy Weekend!!!!

Que aprendi hoy....I learned today...

2011-01-27T09:23:00.000-08:00

Just so you know the title of the blog is Spanish and that is certainly not the only thing I learned today!!!

I learned how important it is to know what you want to know more about when, I din’t have a clue what to learn and write about in my next blog.

All of us have varied interests our jobs, may be a hobby or two, we think we know everything about and since it is said there is no end to learning I am going to learn more about things that interest me.

A typical girl from Mumbai likes being surrounded by people, she is experimental , spoiled for choice, loves street food, bollywood and probably everything under the sun that makes a lot of noise..buzzz is the slang!!! and I am no different .

Well, my career interest speaks for itself !! Some of you have really struggled to understand what I did as a media planner. In utterly simple words and technically speaking media planning is figuring out the most cost efficient ways to reach out to the consumers given the creative message.
There is no typical day at work .You are chalking out a media plan for a hair oil brand and simultaneously reading research papers on a completely unrelated category with clashing deadlines.People around you are vibrant, fun loving and sometimes very noisy!!!there is never a dull moment at work.As you read, I can go on and on about my job because that is how much I miss it these days . ; (

Nevertheless,It has been 3 months since I got married and let me tell you I am happy to relocate from one Media hub to another!! Mumbai to LA!!!

I have yet to hit the Career RESTART button and hence,It is THE VELLA’ ME’ TIME now ; )

In my endeavor to learn something new each day I stumbled up a truck load of news and articles on media planning in the US of A. Nahhh I won’t copy paste stuff I read about today ,although I had half a mind to do it ; )

The website is predictably http://www.mediabuyerplanner.com/ you might want to check it out.

Did you know?
To remove the smell of garlic or onions from your hands you should rub a tablespoon of salt mixed with a little water for a few seconds and rinse under cold water.

More about my other interests and learnings in my next blog….

Till then...Feliz de apprendizaje!! : )

My 1st new thing of the year!!

2011-01-25T10:05:00.000-08:00

Its is that time of the year and the title of my blog is probably done to death!!Yup like millions of others I am on the path to self improvement, and in my attempt to broaden my horizon, I have decided to learn something new each day forever!!! I can now call myself ' a self motivated individual' as soon as I hit the publish post tab down there ; )) PROVIDED it lasts forever and I get better with each post!!

I have completed my 1st new thing of the year (creating this blog)

Wish me luck!!!
