I Have Some Random Things to Say

Futurama

2012-06-20T11:48:00.001-07:00

I was thinking I should type a blog since it is the return of a new season tonight. If you do not know what this show is about than you have been living under a rock your whole entire life. I'll explain it in case you do live under a rock. Futurama is about a 20th century delivery boy named Phillip Fry who was accidentally cryogenically frozen for 1,000 years. He finds employment at a delivery company named Planet Express. Some of the characters include Leela who is a cyclops also the captain of the ship in the show, Bender a foul mouthed, heavy drinking and smoking but hilarious robot, and many other if you want to find out watch the show tonight at 10 or watch it on Netflix. This show was created by Matt Groening who also created The Simpsons. Originally the show aired on Fox but than was cancelled in 2003, than for awhile the episodes were syndicated on comedy central and adult swim. It was revived as four films in 2007 and than in 2009 Comedy Central announced that they picked up the show for new season. I was pretty excited when I heard that because Futurama was such a good show and I was upset when they cancelled it. The Simpsons are still a good show but not as funny as they used to thats why I think Futurama is funnier. I recommend most of the things I type about so I recommend you watch this.

Max Payne 3

2012-05-22T10:28:00.000-07:00

I know I did a blog on the series already but this is more of just a blog on third installment of the series. The video game was released for PS3, Xbox 360 on May 15th and for PC in the end of May. Like the last two games its was published by Rockstar Games (creators of Grand Theft Auto). The game is set in Sao Paulo, Brazil eight years after the events in the second game. Max Payne now works in executive protection for the wealthy Rodrigo Branco in the hopes of escaping the memories of his troubled past. When a street gang kidnaps Rodrigo's wife, Max is pulled into a conspiracy of shadowy, warring factions threading every aspect of Sao Paulo society in a deadly web that threatens to engulf everyone and everything around him. Many of the things in the last two games are in this game such as bullet time. In bullet-time it is possible to see every bullet make a hole in the enemies. There is a Last Man Standing mechanic, which gives Max a reprieve from death for a small period if he has any painkillers on him. If your able to kill the enemy that delivered the wounding shot with bullets he'll recover enough energy to continue the mission. Max Payne 3 retains the bullet dodge from the previous games. Max is also able to stay grounded after a dive, which enables him to shoot 360 degrees around. New to the series are cinematic action movements, interactive cut-scenes which transition seamlessly into continuing gameplay. Moreover there are loading screens across gameplay and cutscenes. Everything in the game is great except I would have to pay $30 in order to play the multiplayer for this game. I do not have $30 so i cannot play the multiplayer and I cannot tell you about the multiplayer obviously. I recommend you play this game especially if you loved the previous games as much as me.

Spyro the Dragon

2012-05-05T09:40:00.002-07:00

This is probably one of my favorite PlayStation one classics that you could never stop playing. Spyro the Dragon was first released in 1998. In case you do not know it is a platform game that placed the player as Spyro, a small, purple dragon set with the task of freeing some of his fellow dragons from crystal prisons, which are scattered around their world. Each level is accessed through 'portals' from a main world. The game concludes with a fight between Spyro and the primary antagonist, Gnasty Gnorc. Then five more games in the original series were released: Spyro 2: Ripto Rage, Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Spyro: A Hero's Tail, and Spyro: Shadow Legacy. All released in the late 1990's and early 2000's. I didn't play the "Legend of Spyro" games I don't know why but they look as fun as those original games were. If anyone played the legend series comment below if you enjoyed the game or not. Because I am curious to see how those games are. I also haven't played the latest spyro skylanders game because to me that game looks dumb. Even though most of the original series felt like it was impossible to defeat, I still enjoyed playing those games. Funny thing is I found out some of the voices were well known like Carlos Alazraqui who first voiced Spryo voiced Rocko in Rocko's Modern Life and who played Deputy Garcia in Reno 911, Tom Kenny who voices spongebob provided the voice, even Elijah Wood at one point was the voice of Spyro. I am not quite sure who they voiced but David Spade and Gary Oldman also provided their voices to one of these games.

X-Men First Class

2012-04-25T13:57:00.003-07:00

I have always been a fan of comic books and the movie adaptions. When this movie first came out I meant to see it but I never got a chance to. Out of all the movie adaptions of comic books I have to say X-Men is my favorite (well until the avengers come out of course). X-Men first class is about how Professor X and Magneto started out their friendship and the origins of X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. This movie was so badass. I have always wondered what it would be like to have these powers like the X-Men. I think it would be awesome to either have the powers of Professor X or Magneto. If you are living under a rock the ability that Professor X has is telepathy, and the ability that Magneto is to move things with his mind. I think either of those are pretty awesome to have. In the beginning, it shows the childhood of the two, and how they evolve into adults. In the movie it takes place during the Cuban Missile Crisis but with a little turn how Sebastian Shaw the leader of the Hellfire Club is trying to take over the world. I definitely would not get tired of watching this movie over and over again. If you haven't seen this I highly recommend you do especially if you are into movies based off of comics just like me. Recently there has been talks in making a sequel or more to this movie and eventually making it a series.

Moneyball

2012-04-18T09:55:00.000-07:00

At first Moneyball was one of those movies where you wondered if you should go see the movie when it comes out in theaters or wait for it to be on DVD. It was kind of like that but I was just too lazy to spend $11 to go see the movie. The film is based off a book written by Michael Lewis who also wrote The Blind Side which was adapted into a movie in 2009. Moneyball is takes place during the 2002 season of the Oakland Athletics and how Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) the general manager attempts to rebuild the team after two of their biggest players sign with another team. Beane and assistant GM Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) faced with the franchise's unfavorable financial situation and get players that no other team would sign due to age, an injury. etc. It also includes how they won 20 consecutive games (an American League Record) while trying to make it into the postseason. Some of the players including pitcher Chad Bradford, and former catcher Scott Hatteberg. I am not going to ruin it all I am going to say is that when they get their 20th consecutive win is my favorite scene. To find out why go see the movie. When I saw the trailer of the movie I thought it was just going to be another typical baseball movie. But it wasn't because the events in this movie actually happened in real life. The actors in the movie include, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and many others. Out of all of those movies Moneyball was the greatest in my opinion. If you haven't seen this movie yet I recommend you buy, rent, or download it. Part of why it was so good is that the casting was really good.

Old Cartoons Are So Much Better!

2012-04-14T23:49:00.002-07:00

Let me just get this out of the way now cartoons today cannot be compared to cartoons in the past. There is no way in hell that can happen. Cartoons that are on today are complete shit. Like what the hell happened to Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon? The only thing good on cartoon network is Adult Swim, everything else on during the day is garbage. I remember so many good cartoons on Cartoon Network such as Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, etc. But now they have crappy shows like Ben 10. I don't understand why it is still called Cartoon Network because they air shows that aren't animated as well. Nickelodeon is definitely worse than Cartoon Network because it's constant iCarly and Big Time Rush it makes me puke to see that shows like that are actually on air. Recently Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network realized what the hell did we do? And started a block of old cartoons from those channels at a certain time slot. For example one of nickelodeons channels The N has a block called The 90's Are All That where they air some of the good cartoons that used to be on. More recent cartoon network started a block called Cartoon Planet on Fridays at 8pm hosted by Brak and Zorak from Space Ghost. There are plenty of good cartoons that weren't from the 90's such as Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry. Truth is I just miss being a kid, you never had to do anything just watched these cartoons. My favorite cartoon when I was little was probably Rocko's Modern Life. Off topic but just realized that Rocko's Modern Life was kind of dirty if you go back and look some clips up. If you enjoyed this post comment below if you agree with me or not and about what your favorite cartoon was as a child.

Act of Valor

2012-04-11T21:44:00.002-07:00

Most war movies have well known actors playing the lead roles, but in Act of Valor this movie has real life US Navy Seals playing the roles in this movie. The movie was so kick ass I was on the edge of my seat throughout the movie. In the beginning one of the officers narrates and discusses heroism, bravery, and a code of honor. What this movie had that some war movie do not, is that these guy were the real deal and have went through some of this stuff that goes on in the movie. You know how some people are like crazy and are like hardcore Americans like supporting what they think is right? I felt proud of my country after witnessing this great film. After seeing this movie I felt like was there with those navy seals kicking ass. I'll admit towards the end of the movie I teared up a bit. I felt like I knew them it was so amazing. Never realized how much those guys put their lives on the line just to protect each and every one of us. Enough of all of that proud to be an american mumbo jumbo haha. But I recommend you go see it if you already haven't its worth it. I might be more reviews of recent movies that have been released. I know this isn't really recent it is just this the last movie I saw in a movie theater. Comment below to recommend a movie I should go and see.

Arrested Development

2012-04-09T10:31:00.002-07:00

I hate how a show you start to get into and it becomes one of your favorite shows gets cancelled. Well Arrested Development was one of those shows. The plot revolves around the members of the Bluth family, who generally lead excessive lifestyles. The show centers around Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) who tries to keep his family intact after their father George Bluth Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) was arrested for defrauding investors and gross spending of the company's money while at the same time trying to spend sometime with his son George Michael (Michael Cera). The show contains many other stars such as Jessica Waters who plays Michael's mother Lucille, Will Arnett plays Michael's older brother Gob, Porti de Rossi plays Michael's twin sister Lindsay. She has a husband Tobias who is played by David Cross and daughter Maeby played by Alia Shawkat. Tony Hale plays Buster, Michael's unstable younger brother. In my opinion, this show was really funny and even though I was still young at the time it was originally on the air, I still watched it and laughed my ass off at every episode. I was surprised it was cancelled because their was such a strong following and their was a lot of good responses from critics. I was happy to find out that the creator of the show Mitchell Hurwitx was in the process of writing up a script for a movie. But after awhile I didn't really hear anything about it coming out soon so I figured they shelved the idea. Until I heard Will Arnett announce that they are in the process of making a script. Earlier this year they announced that starting in 2013 on Netflix their will be new episodes of the show that will lead up to the premiere of the movie. Comment below if you were a fan of the show and are excited about the new episodes and movie or not. Also comment what shows did you like and were upset about when it was cancelled.

Max Payne Series

2012-04-05T07:50:00.000-07:00

Some of you may or may not have liked these games but I loved them. The first game of the series was the first game I bought by myself with my own money I loved that feeling. If you do not know what the game is you should look it up. The first game is about how he attempts to hunt down the ones responsible for murdering his wife and child as well as he being framed for the murder of his partner. The second game takes place a few years after the events in the first game after. Max has returned to work for the NYPD as a homicide detective. However, during a routine investigation he finds himself facing once again a fugitive he thought was dead named Mona Sax. Max teams up with her to solve the answers to his past that left his wife and child dead. I cannot wait until the third game to come out May 15th. According to Rockstar Games, the third game takes place 8 years after the events in the second game.
Max Payne left the NYPD and New York completely now living in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he is now working in the private security sector for a wealthy local family. He now works in executive protection for the wealthy Rodrigo Branco in the hopes of escaping the memories of his troubled past. When a street gang kidnaps Rodrigo's wife, Max is pulled into a conspiracy threading every aspect of São Paulo society in a deadly web that threatens to engulf everyone and everything around him. I can't wait until this game comes out because it will be the only game I will be playing for weeks or maybe even months. The movie with Mark Wahlberg was complete shit and as a fan of the games I was pretty disappointed even though I shouldn't be because most movies based off of games are complete and utter shit. They tried to hard to make it look like the game and they failed horribly.

Crash Bandicoot

2012-04-01T23:06:00.000-07:00

This is the game that gave me my love of playing video game. Even though I played plenty of other games before that, Crash Bandicoot was probably the best out of all of those. When I was about 3 or 4 I got a PlayStation 1 for Christmas and one of the games that I got with it was the first game of this series. I think I spent most of my time playing this game because I found it extremely fun and addicting to play. When I found out there was more games to the series I was extremely happy but I had to wait either for my birthday or Christmas because at the time the only money I made was finding coins on the ground and picking it up. I continued to play those games for awhile until the PlayStation 2 came out and I got it. I'd play it once in awhile then I got bored of it and stopped playing it. I am really glad PlayStation created the PlayStation store for the PlayStation 3 and PSP. The reason I am so happy is because their is a category called PSone Classics, and it has a bunch of games from the PlayStation 1 and they have the entire series on there. I downloaded them all and started to play them nonstop once again. I really only enjoyed the games when they were created by Naughty Dog Inc. the other crash games that were created by different companies after Naughty Dog Inc. were alright but weren't really as good as the originals. I have heard so many rumors that another game might be created. I hope those rumors are true.

This has nothing to do with what my blog was about but I want to ask you guys to do me a favor. A friend of mine just started a blog of his and he needs followers. Do me a favor and follow him this his blog: votez1.blogspot.com. His blogs are pretty similar to what I talk about on mine.

SPORTS!!!!

2012-03-31T21:48:00.002-07:00

I love playing or watching almost every type of sport. I recently been getting interested in soccer due to the video game FIFA. Before that I always hated soccer cause I thought it was a stupid and pointless sport. But after playing fifa for awhile and watching highlights of a few world cups I realized that it can be really intense for the players and the fans. My favorite team is Manchester United (I might get a lot of crap for it but I don't care haha). I also have been recently getting back into watching basketball. Even though I am tall (6'5) I am probably the worst at it but I love playing it with my buds. Most of all the team I root for are my hometown teams except in football. My favorite sport has been and always will be baseball. I grew up loving baseball, I have been playing it all my life. I am fairly good at it even though most of the teams I've ever been on were complete and utter shit. I usually played outfield and loved it even though a ball was never hit out towards me. If i knew how to skate at all I would have loved to play hockey. Hockey is such an incredible sport and I would love to get into a hockey fight that has been a dream of mine for quite sometime. And it seems like most hockey players get hotter women than any other athlete so that would be pretty awesome as well. My all time favorite hockey player is Jaromir Jagr who currently plays for my hometown team the Philadelphia Flyers which I was incredibly happy to hear he was going to play for. I haven't been really watching football the past couple seasons I don't know why I just haven't been interested in that much but I still love it. I really don't have a favorite team when it comes to football I just don't like any of the teams that are rivals to the Philadelphia Eagles. I play a lot of football with my friends and we usually play actual football not that wuss two hand touch shit. I am proud to say I broke my foot playing football but that is a completely different story. Teams that I hate in any sport are mostly rival teams to my philly teams. To celebrate my love of sports I'm going to post a link to a song simply title "Sports". Type in the comments below what your favorite sports, teams, or players are.

DAY MAN AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

2012-03-29T08:09:00.002-07:00

If you don't get the reference of the my title to this blog then you should look it up. What I just referenced is from an awesome tv show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. This is my favorite tv show not because I'm from Philadelphia, because it is a very funny show in my opinion. The show is about these five people: Dee, Dennis, Mac, Charlie, and Frank. They run a bar that doesn't get a lot of business called Paddy's Pub. That is not the main plot of the show. They usually find schemes to make a lot of money or make some plan up that they think will be perfect and it usually doesn't work out and the end. The episode that I am referencing in the title is called the Nightman Cometh. Where one of the characters Charlie creates a play about a character he made up while trying to make up a song. I really want you to look it up if you have not seen it before. Despite this high sense of self worth, "the Gang" often have little sense of shame when attempting to get what they want and will often engage in activities which others would find humiliating, or disgusting, such as smoking in crack in order to qualify for welfare, seducing a priest, or hiding naked inside a leather couch in order to spy on someone. My picture for my blog is even the character Charlie. It is a really great show and highly recommend you watch it if you have never seen it before.

Music is Amazing!

2012-03-26T20:47:00.000-07:00

About 90% of the time each day I'm listening to music somehow whether it be on my mp3 player, on my computer or in a car. I can't even imagine what the world would be like if music did not exist. The reason I can't imagine it because it would probably suck and i do not think of things that suck. I personally love almost every type of music I don't mind any of it. I have been recently listening to dubstep a lot, at first i thought it was going to be real shitty but it actually is pretty great. My favorite is First of the Year by Skrillex (if you have never heard it before I'll post a link below this). I adore music so much I want to pursue a career as a DJ on the radio (As I said before in a previous blog). Before I listened to started enjoy all types of music, I listened to mostly rock. It sounds pretty funny on how I started to listen to country, rap, techno, dubstep, etc. I was trying to find a new song by some band on youtube and I found something else completely different. I just kept going through the related videos on the side of the page. I also started to listen to some bands from Germany that sang their songs in English though. Some of my favorite artists/bands are: Bruce Springsteen, Beatsteaks (Band from Germany), Foo Fighters, LMFAO, Skrillex, Adele, Deadmau5, Zac Brown Band, Toby Keith, and a lot more. If any of you recommend any songs or artists for me to listen to post a comment below.

Learning to Play Guitar

2012-03-20T21:44:00.002-07:00

Recently I have been interested in learning how to play guitar. I have always been interested in the guitar but I really haven't been so determined to learn how to play. A lot of my friends play the guitar and I thought how pretty cool it is to know how to play such an amazing instrument. There are a lot of songs that I love so much that I want to learn it how to play them. I have an acoustic guitar that my brother gave to me, now I just need to know how to play. Once I learn the different notes of the guitar and how to play them, the first song I want to learn how to play is the theme from the show King of the Hill if you do not know what I am talking about Ill post a link at the bottom of this blog. I want to be different when it comes to learning your first song on the guitar I have realized that the first song people are taught is smoke on the water by deep purple. If anyone knows of any website I could get stuff about learning how to play guitar post the links below in the comments it would be much appreciated.

Saints Row the Third=Goofier version of GTA!

2012-03-15T08:37:00.000-07:00

Previously I wrote about how amazing grand theft auto is but today, I am writing about how funny and cool Saints Row the Third is. Unlike the other two saints row games where you start from the bottom and work your way up, your already at the top in this game. Your character that you can customize to your liking, is the the leader of the Third Street Saints. The customization of your character can be very fun you can make your character wear a superhero outfit, a mascot costume, and many other goofy costumes that are available in this game. You can explore the city of Steelport, performing main missions that progress the game's story, and side missions. The side missions include activities, mini games, etc. Successful completion of missions can earn your character money, weapons, cars, and gang respect. Unlike the other two games, the respect you earn can be used to upgrade your characters attributes and eventually become invincible once you unlock all of those attributes. The money you earn can upgrade your weapons, cars, etc. In a couple of missions you can choose how to end the mission. What I like about this game is that the others weren't is that this one is the most hilarious. For example, in weapons you have the ability to call in an airstrike which you can't even do in GTA. Also, there is a weapon called the penetrator in which it is like a baseball bat but it is an enormous dildo. What this game has and the other two don't is that this has three dlc mission packs that come out every couple of months. Such as Genkibowl VII in which you raise more hell in the city of Steelport all for an annual event in the city. Another mission pack is Gangstas in Space this one is the recent dlc pack to come out. In these missions, you are filming the movie Gangstas in Space. I'm not going to try and ruin this for the people who have not played the game yet. I highly recommend you buy this or borrow this game because no matter how silly it can be (and trust me it can be very goofy at some points) the game gets interesting once you start to play it.

I Wanna Be a Broadcaster

2012-03-13T11:08:00.001-07:00

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to become a broadcaster whether it be on TV or the radio. During high school I was thinking of different careers I would want to pursue it ranged from joining the army to acting. But I would always end up thinking about becoming a broadcaster. So junior year of high school there was this career day where we picked a couple of occupations and someone in those certain occupations would talk to you about it, and one of the careers I chose to learn about was mass media. The guy who talked to us was a reporter who graduated from the high school I went to. The more he talked about it the more I became interested in broadcasting. Another inspiration for me to get into that career was listening to a local radio station 93.3 WMMR. I realized how cool being a DJ for that station would be so fun. I am currently majoring in communications in college and hopefully I can pursue the career I have always wanted to have.

Grand Theft Auto is AWESOME!!!

2012-03-12T14:25:00.000-07:00

A game franchise that can never get old is the very controversial series Grand Theft Auto video games. I have loved these games since the very first GTA that was released in 1997. All of these games have different plots or characters in each one but everyone does the same thing in each game. You can commit as many crimes as you want without actually getting arrested in real life although sometimes your character gets arrested in the game but that's what using weapons is for. Earlier I mentioned that it is a very controversial game because some morons that play it actually think they can go on a killing spree and get away with it. Well guess what morons you probably can't see this blog entry because your most likely in jail for killing cops in GTA then actually killing cops. I was so excited to find out that there is another GTA game coming out titled Grand theft Auto V taking place in Los Santos a city that was an area in GTA San Andreas. Grand theft auto has inspired many games such as the Saints Row series which I will probably use as another topic for another blog.

These Games Have Been My Heroin

2012-03-09T15:02:00.000-08:00

Lately I have been playing a lot of games online. Most of them are the games you see on Facebook others on different websites or apps on phones or devices such as an IPod touch or a Nook. It all started when I played this game created by adult swim called Hemp Tycoon (Yes you grow and sell weed). Originally I only played the game on adult swim's website but I saw on the website that they had a version of it on Facebook. I tried that out and after awhile got bored of it and saw a bunch of these game show related games on there such as Family Feud, Press Your Luck, etc. Another game I've been highly addicted to is a 8 Ball Pool Multiplayer on miniclip. You can either play a friend on there or play in three different types of tournaments. I never realized so many games on the internet can be so addictive. Some other games I have been playing a lot lately are Angry Birds and the most recent game that you can become obsessed with it Temple Run. I have been a gamer all my life and I am always interested in trying a new game whether it be on the internet or an ipod touch.
