Steve Forrest, Lt. Harrelson in "S.W.A.T.", dies at 87

Actor Steve Forrest, best known as Lt. Harrelson at TV series SWAT has died at age 87 at his home in California.

Steve Forrest, who was widely known as Lieutenant Dan "Hondo" Harrelson, the leader of a SWAT team in the American television series of the same name in the 70s, died on May 18 surrounded by her family in Thousand Oaks, California at age 87.

Forrest was born on September 29, 1924 in Hustville, Texas. For more than 60 years dedicated to the world of cinema and television, especially in the decades of the 60s and 70s, with a great love of American Western movies in which Hollywood always had in mind.

Forrest shared scenes and scenarios with the most recognized names in American cinema. His acting career began in 1943 with a minor role in the movie Crash Dive starring Tyrone Power. Colombian actor Mauricio Bastidas had surgery after being beaten up by four men for being the evil of a success soap opera that airs on Colombia.

Each time it's getting harder to play a character of evil characteristics in a television series or movie. One of this artists that can talk about this topic is Colombian actor Mauricio Bastidas who plays the character PVC in success series in Colombia, "Tres Milagros" (Three Miracles).

Ray Manzarek, co-founder of The Doors, dies at 74

Ray Manzarek, co-founder and keyboardist of The Doors has died at age 74 in Germany, victim of a cancer that has not been overcome despite their long struggle for trying to end with the disease.

The Facebook account of the group has been responsible for giving the bad news. Ray Manzarek died in Clinic Romed in Rosenheim (Germany).

According to information published in the account, Manzarek, at the time of death, was accompanied by his wife Dorothy and his brothers Rick and James.

The guitarist Roby Krieger, very affected, said: "I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend and bandmate Ray Manzarek.I'm just glad to have been able to have played Doors songs with him for the last decade. Ray was a huge part of my life and I will always miss him."

Ray Manzarek's family has asked that instead of sending flowers, the group's fans make a donation in memoriam, on behalf of Ray for Standup2cancer.org., So we can continue to fund research to eradicate this disease.

Ray Manzarek was born in 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, and was co-founder and keyboardist of The Doors from 1965 to 1973. Warner Bros has revealed the first trailer for "Gravity" by Alfonso Cuarón, in which George Clooney and Sandra Bullock are faced with the vastness and loneliness of outer space after a terrible accident that will take them to the limit of his mental strength.

The Book of Mormon, the musical satirist that is touring the United States, still winning and reviews, day after day, since the project began its career on Broadway on Feb. 24, telling the life of the founder of the Mormons.

Aerosmith cancels concert in Indonesia for terrorist threat

Serious terrorist attack on the finish of the Boston Marathon, considered the biggest sporting event in the world. From this humble blog, total rejection of violence and support for the families of those killed and injured.

At times like this, when someone like me is preparing to write a post about music or cinema, and receives word of an attack, possibly terrorist, in which there have been hundreds of injuries and two deaths, I have heard that have been two children, the mind blocks and does not know what write because thinking is in place of attack.

I will not talk about the attack, nor will I put images and video of what happened in Boston. Not the place nor the time to do it, is not my specialty with the theme of this blog. It's time to think again, it's time to back to ask why, it is time to know what is being done wrong, it's time of hearing the silence.

At times like this we must be more united than ever. This post is very short but I think that there is nothing more that say at this time. Only from this humble blog, my condolences to the families of the dead and all the love and support for the injuried.

Spanish actress Sara Montiel dies at age 85

María Antonia Abad Fernández, Sara Montiel, Sarita Montiel, the diva of Spanish cinema, has died at age 85 from a heart attack in Madrid. The sudden loss of the actress has left without words to music artists, film and theater in Spain and over countries of the world.

Born in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real), Spain, from a family of farmers, soon learned that she had to be an actress. De La Mancha to Hollywood through Mexico, Sara Montiel was captivating every man who passed in front of her.

Her first major movie role in the film won the "Locura de Amor" (Madness of Love) by director Juan de Orduña, in 1948. But her great role and that released worldwide was "El último cuplé" (The last couplet) directed also by Juan de Orduna in 1957. In this film song "El Relicario" (The Reliquary) and "Fumando espero" (Smoking I wait), songs that are out of fashion and are remembered for generations. Another great film was "The Violetera".

Mexico also fell surrendered to her feet, getting to participate in more than ten productions, such as "Cárcel de mujeres" (Women's Prison), "Piel canela", "Fiera salvaje" (Wild Fury) and "Se solicitan modelos" (Models Are Requested).

Her jump to Hollywood did that with only 23 years, got his first role in Tinseltown with the film "Veracruz" with help of Gary Cooper.
