1. Open up a plain notepad. Start > All Program > Accessories > Notepad

2. Type .Log at the top of your plain notepad

3. Save the notepad with any name you like, for me, I used DailyLog.txt. Close the notepad.

4.  Right click on the notepad file you have created just now and click create shortcut.

5. Copy that short cut and place it onto your desktop for easy access.

6. Now, right click on that short cut and click on change icon. Choose any icon you like so that you can distinguish your daily log from other files.

7. You have successfully created your personal daily log and when you open the file, the file will automatically insert time and date into the notepad.
