So far, I've been featuring celebrities, actors, musicians, etc. who've died too soon, but after reading the post below, I realized that this blog can be so much more. There are everyday people just like you and me who are dying way too soon. Their lives should be celebrated just as much and sometimes more than celebrities. The post below is about a very courageous woman named Susan L. DeWitt. You know, I started this blog because I didn't like smoking and wanted to share the reasons why in hopes that some smokers would stop. What has happened now after a year is I truly do want to help people quit smoking for themselves and their families. I want you to watch the three videos below, and unless you are a robot, they have to affect you. Susan L. DeWitt was a beautiful woman who was a mother to a wonderful family and a devoted wife to her husband. At only 39 years of age, she was diagnosed with type IV lung cancer, which is basically a death sentence. She decided the moment she was diagnosed that she was going to start a foundation to help others stop smoking before it's too late. Susan was one heroic woman.

Don't let your life get cut short because of smoking. Stop now. Lung cancer is not a pleasant way to die. It's a very painful and slow death. That is not the way anyone wants to die, but if you choose to smoke, there's a better than average chance that's how you're going to die. For your kid's sake... Any time a talented artist or musician dies too young, it's a tragic loss. Kurt Cobain's suicide back in 1994 was a huge loss for music fans. Like so many others before him, Cobain had been wrestling with a heroin addiction for years, and it finally overtook him. But, during his lifetime, Cobain and the rest of the members of Nirvana played a huge part along with Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden in ushering in the age of grunge rock. Jimi Hendrix was one of the most flamboyant guitar players every to play the instrument. To this day, you can hear his songs Purple Haze and Hey Joe playing on classic rock stations every day. Jimi was taken away way too early in his life. He was only 27 years old when he died on September 18, 1970 from asphyxiation from his own vomit. Blind Melon burst onto the rock scene in 1992 when they released this song, No Rain, as a single. Chris Farley was, and still is, my favorite comedian of all-time. Chris died way, way too young. He was only 33 years old. Eerily, he died at the same age as John Belushi, of the same thing (speed balling drug overdose) and in Chicago, Belushi's hometown. A tragic loss to be sure.
