I took this picture for my review over at Leaf and Yeast.

This is very old. A lot has been happening in my life, so I haven’t had much time to update the photoblog. So here goes. Maybe some more updates soon.

I had a few minutes to kill before we left Chuck’s house to head to Prime 16 for my birthday dinner. Melissa is a good sport, and she’s quite beautiful.

The pictures taken at Eli Cannon’s were in HORRIBLE lighting conditions. ISO 1600 and f/1.4-1.8. On a 50D, no less where high ISO performance isn’t exactly a strong point.

The night was a lot of fun, though. The featured image is of Chuck. he took the shot of me, which is why its so soft

I’m just getting around to editing some of my paris pictures. I stitched this panorama together, as a 6 series shot taken atop Le Tour Eiffel. I don’t know how well it will display on the web, its a HUGE panorama. This size is roughly 1/20 of the actual.

I’m not one for food pictures, but I was missing Paris today. I’m not a foodie, by any stretch of the imagination (though I actually can cook very well) but the food in Paris was simply to die for. Something this morning tripped a longing to my ancestor’s homeland, and I decided to cook french for the night.

Chicken cordon bleu with white wine creme sauce. Chicken breast rolled up with swiss cheese and ham. Coated with flour and paprika. Browned in (lots) butter, then simmered, covered, in white wine and chicken stock. Then, the chicken was removed, and the leftover juices were left on the stove to reduce after a large addition of heavy cream.

Chateau potatoes: sliced white potatoes, browned in even more butter, then baked in the butter for 20 minutes. Salt/Pepper and fresh parsley adorn the top before serving.

Cucumber salad: sliced cucumber, covered in white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and dill.

Melissa’s first bite summed it up quite nicely: “It tastes like Paris!”
