Hello!
I`m so sorry I`ve been away from posting.. but I`ve been very busy!!

I`m flying today to meet my family in Brazil and we`re soooo excited!!!

This is a picture of my desk right now: new flowers (the red and orange ones) and lots of gifts, wrapped with my paper trasures from the lovely paper goods etsy shops: the gilded bee, whimsical muse and pugly pixel (I`ll add the link later)!

My shop is open but I`ll only ship the flowers when I get back in November, alright?! And thanks for the patience, you`ll get an extra gift for that ;)

New Tags

I`m getting ready for the holidays season and since we`re under a lot of rain and can`t go outside today I made some new tags for my shop!!

I used some tags from the lovely LemmonJitters, a stamp custom made from Modern Art Stamps, some golden cardstock, a flower paper punch and some faux pearls.. I love how they turned out!! I`m not sure about the pearl in the tag, I think it looks pretty but I don`t know.. do you like it??

Miami is under a tropical depression right now and that means we`re getting A LOT of rain since yesterday :(

I can`t wait until the weather is sunny again and we can go outside!! I really got used to this warm, sunny weather!

Butterfly World

A couple of days ago I spent a wonderful afternoon in a little place called Butterfly World, it is an hour drive from Miami Beach and it has the most beautiful butterflies, little hummingbirds and all sorts of flowers including my favorite Passiflora (passionfruit flower)!

I don`t think I`ve shown her before, thats my baby girl, playing with the little birds :)

And this is the Passiflora garden.. They have all sorts of Passiflora plants you can imagine! I`ve seen the purple flower many times before but there I saw it in white and red!!

Isn`t it beautiful?? And it smells so good! They sell the plants and seeds there! I do have a pretty big balcony where I live but it`s so windy I don`t think it would survive.. but I`m daydreaming on having my own collection of Passiflora plants!

Visiting Butterfly World was amazing.. imagine gardens filled with the most beautiful flowers with lots of butterflies dancing around the sound of classical music and little birds flying and singing!!

Do you have a garden and love butterflies?? If you do you should check their website for the butterfly campaign because they tell you what plants are food for butterflies so you can have them around your garden!!

just in case you were wondering..this is how my desk looks like today :)

New sets of 3 brooches/hair pins and a tiara (maybe)!

I usually don`t wear red.. but I think fall asks for some red, right?

I`m using:

Reds: candy apple red, venetian red, burgundy, carmine

Oranges: orange-red,pumpkin and burnt orange

Starting to Patent my Idea

Hello :)

I`ve been away from blogging.. last week my mom was here from Brazil and we spent the week having fun, we already miss you mom!

I need to share something: I`ve been feeling so weird lately. Before my girl was born I used to work at a molecular biology lab (I`m a veterinarian) and I was doing a very interesting research on stem cells when I had this amazing idea.. I`m not going to bring it up now but I still think it`s amazing and I`d still love to see that in practice.. but for now I can`t, my little girl wont go to school now and I think the fact that I`m a stay at home mom at a foreign country with no family around to help.. oh what I`m I complaining about.. I have the most loving daughter, the best husband in the world and a very supportive family in Brazil.. I`m living at a paradise (literally), we go to the beach almost every day and I`m happy here.. I`m happy in my mind, in my heart..

Anyways.. since I have some time left in my hands (when my daughter is asleep, the house is clean and the clothes washed..) I`m thinking of obtaining a patent for my idea :)

I`ve been looking it up for a couple of weeks and it looks complicated and expensive so far.. but something inside my heart says that this is the right path to follow! Sometimes I think it`s a crazy idea, I`ve always had this little crazy scientist inside of me and now it`s screaming to come out and I think I`ll let it out :)

Now I`ve to figure out how to keep on working on the flowers and the patent because both are a lot of work.. the past weeks I`ve finished that pink pillow and done tons of flowers that need to be photographed and listed to my shop.. I also need to update my flicker photo stream, oh and the holidays are coming, etsians are getting ready and so should I! For the holidays I`m thinking: lots of bracelets and sets of 3 blooms!

I don`t know if any of this is interesting to you but I needed to "talk".. I`d like to thank my husband for all the loving support he has always given to me, he`s helping me to allow the trapped crazy scientist to get out for a while :) let`s see what happens..

I promise I`ll take lots and lots of pictures this week.. I`ll post the pink pillow and the new hair clips/brooches :)

Update on the Baby Whale

Hi :)

Today in the morning I went to the marina and heard that they had lost the baby whale.. They said that it was dark and they lost it.. I saw many helicopters and boats looking for the whale in the Biscayne Bay, they didn`t find it.

I read on 7news wsvn-tv site that some civilians stayed up with the whale up until 1 am and they saw it going back to the sea :D

I`m so happy to hear that! I`d rather believe that she`s out in the ocean looking for her mommy than dead here in the bay!

So tonight my prayers go out to her and her mommy again, I wish both of you will reunite soon if you are not already together!

I`m so sorry for the terrible time you had here in south beach, I`m so very happy that you were not "humanely killed by its human "saviors.""

I wish you all a good night, I will dream on this baby whale meeting her mom and feeling safe again!

Injured Baby Whale in Miami Beach

Today a baby whale got lost, was injured by propellers and was wandering in the Marina here in Miami Beach,

luckily the whale got out of the Marina (where it was getting hurt) and went into the Bay. I watched everything from my window, it is heartbreaking to see the baby whale lost, injured..

There was a police and coast guard boats and the marine animal rescue (the ones on the yellow shirt) was observing the whale,

What I heard and read on the news is that they are trying to find the baby whale`s mother, if they are not able to find it and it`s condition doesn`t get better it might be euthanized :(

The coast guard has set up a safety zone around the whale and it has been following it

The last time I saw the baby whale before the sunset:

And now it`s been guarded by 2 boats.. If you want you can read more here and here. As a veterinarian my heart is broken, I really wish I could get on a boat and help ease the pain and calm it down. I really hope they will find the whales tomorrow, reunite them and they will live very happy! Good night little whale and little whale`s mom.. my heart and my prayers are with you :)

A new flower added to my shop

I feel like I need to add some flowers with a simple embroidery..

So this is the first! It was handmade by me with beige, cream and off white chiffon and it has 2 green chiffon leaves. It can be used as a hair clip and a brooch :) and it`s ready to be shipped!

I went to the post office this morning, to send a surprise parcel to a friend :) I hope she likes what`s inside! The golden heart sticker is from the amazing The Whimsical Muse and the beautiful rose tag is from HandMaiden Just For You.

Tape, lovely tape..

Hello :)

After seeing this lovely fabric tapes here and here I felt the urge to get me some!

I used them to cover the metal lids on glass jars I use to store some crystals and glass beads and I think they turned out lovely!
I bought them at the Lycheebag Etsy shop who has excellent customer care and very fast shipping!

Now I`m off to finish the pink pillow! And I have some new projects on my mind that I`ll share with you next week :)

On that trip to NYC I went to BeadsWorld,

where I bought colorful crystals,

and delicate water pearls.. amongst other sparkling goods!
That store is a paradise for beads lovers (like myself)! I believe you can make orders thru email to beads world shop..

I even got some acrylic stacking case from MUGI to store my crystals (if only I had bought me some more..)!

Sigh.. New York!!

I was surprised.. the last time I`ve been there I used to live in Sao Paulo, Brazil.. SP is a big city as well so I guess I was used to all the lights, people, buildings, noises. But this time it was different..

I live in a small city now.. Miami Beach is pretty small.. and before Miami I used to live in Santa Monica, another small city (close to LA, my dear LA).. But being away from all that made me see NYC with different eyes!!

I mean.. all those people together.. So much creativity! Take a look at this eyebrow salon Ad, isn`t it brilliant????

And so many flowers.. I even saw passion fruit flowers!!

One of my favorite flowers!! I think this one is so special..

Ohh and the food!!

This was the best desert EVER!!!!!!!!!

This trip inspired me.. I walked thru SOHO dreaming of one day, maybe, opening a little shop, maybe a flower shop.. I don`t know..

And a butterfly collection at the Museum of Natural History that took my breath away..

I also went to Mood Fabrics store and to Beads World.. more word on that soon :)

This is the last flower!!! Now it is complete!!

The 20 flowers are ready to be hand sewn in a white cotton pillowcase (hopefully this week) and soon it will be in my etsy shop :)

there`s the fabric to make the last flower from the pink pillow I`ve been working for a while..

I have to be honest with you, it`s been there for some time now, I don`t know why but I can`t finish this flower..

I`ve been busy in the last couple of weeks .. I went to Disney World for my daughter`s birthday and to New York (I promise I`ll post pictures later)..

But I`m back now, I`ve cleaned the house, organized everything.. I even took pictures of it :)

BTW the lovely paper flowers on my desk are from The Gilded Bee and the beautiful butterfly print is from Georgianna Lane, I leave them there because they are pretty and for some inspiration!

I`m off to the beach.. where we build sand castles and decorate them with tiny seashells :)

I`m falling in love with summer, I always thought I loved the winter most (I love Christmas time) but I think something inside of me is changing.. maybe living at the beach, spending lovely afternoons making sandcastles has something to do with that.

Hello :)

I know it`s been a while since I last posted but I`ve been very busy.. It`summer and it`s very hot in Miami so I`m taking my baby girl to the beach, we have fun at the pool and the park. And when she`s asleep I`m busy making a lot of custom orders!

I really love custom orders! I love when I`m told what colors, fabrics and embroidery to work on.. I love to see the flowers blooming in different colors that I`m used to work.

In the last couple of weeks, a friend of mine was a bridesmaid and I helped her with her dress! We went to Neiman Marcus where she picked this lovely dress (it had some embroidery on the neckline but I forgot to take a picture before I took the stones out, sorry):

And she asked me to make some black flowers with black embroidery, I made 3 flowers for the neckline..

and a black belt with 5 flowers!

I don`t have a picture with her on the dress with the flowers yet, but as soon as I get them I`ll post them here :)

She was very happy with her flowers and I was glad I could help :) I really liked this dress with the flowers!
