I hate it when you offer someone coffee and they will almost automatically say: "if you're going to make some". It's not that much trouble to make coffee, and I'm not an idiot.

I'm also tired of hearing how the *poor* Yankees haven't made it to the World Series lately. This coming from a team that hasn't missed the playoffs since '94 (and won 4 World Series in that time frame).

...like the one for women where some brilliant designer took a simple blanket and popped a hole in the middle of it so it's some kind of weird shawl-slash-sweater...really, it just looks like a furry poncho.

1. Post-Odelay Beck : too many styles, too much white-boy rapping, none of it ever really *that* good
2. Wes Anderson movies : good soundtracks usually, though
3. Dental Floss : prefer Dental Tape, thank you
4. Toyota Prius : the supposed savior to high gas prices gets real world mileage that's similar to the Corolla but LOTS more expensive.
5. College football : a handful of good games marred by oodles of 52-7's
6. Apple OS pre-X : come on Macnuts, admit it, Windows was better back then even when it sucked horribly (and your computers were still ugly too!)
7. Linux, all flavors : please, if you hate Windows, get a Mac...don't spend 10 minutes writing code to change your screen resolution
8. Most British stuff produced after 1990, excluding Boddingtons Beer and a few Radiohead albums
9. MNF on ESPN & the Pink song on SNF : don't have cable, don't like Pink
10. Fashion trends : are usually so damn ugly that they have to change'em by next year

Things we hate...

I recently read that those creepy, gnarled-lookin' dudes selling candy at high-traffic intersections are actually former drug addicts involved in a program to help them kick their habit. Brilliant!- let's get these guys totally OUT of their element by having them sell things on street corners to strangers.

Nothing is more banal and vapid than the silly banter held between news anchors; if that anchor happens to be a weatherman operating on location through a delayed satellite feed, then add clumsy and awkward to the list.

Things we hate...

Sometimes I wonder if department store make-up counter girls understand (ok, they obviously don't) that while their faces may *feel* smooth, healthy and moist like cookie dough, it still ends up looking like cookie dough. A good deal of the time the "girl" in question turns out to actually be a gaunt and boney relic, someone that belongs in a museum...not someone the American shopping public needs to consult with beauty advice.

What in the hell reason is there for people (on really busy streets, no less) giving away Peanut M&Ms at rush hour??? As if I'm dumb enough to be so *enchanted* by this mystical bag of candy as to render me helpless when I'm deciding on a new cult...oops, I mean church.

For some reason, when you hit about age 13 (and you're a male), things that are pointy and black (and possibly remind you of Dungeons and Dragons) immediately become among the cooler "things" in life you're likely to see or experience. I mean, I *guess* guitars like these are cool if you're in a freakin' Norwegian death metal band and you plan to use your guitar to slice off the heads of sheep mid-concert; but otherwise, buy something else (anything else!).

Amazon has a used copy for 1 penny. Get it.

I hate that a classic piece of literature like *this* is left out-of-print. Kids these days have no idea how to react to classroom jabs, usually resorting to asinine phrases like "don't be a hater"...which coincidentally, I also hate.

Things we hate...

If you're as lucky as we are, political TV ads are now airing about how *this* candidate is "tough on crime" and/or will be "leadership for change". 'Tough on crime' my ass; then you'll see actual live footage of the candidate meeting and greeting law enforcement officials as if this candidate frequents *your* neighborhood so often that he/she just runs into police officers and just starts casually jabbering with them.

Things we hate...

Aside from nearly a decade (hell, maybe more...) of awful musical performances at SuperBowl halftime shows, this season's choice for Monday Night halftime entertainment rivals among histories worst few moments. Nothing thrills me more than the nearly talentless, wannabe-country star Tim McGraw pummeling listeners over the head with what never was really much more than a mediocre POP song (oh! but he changes the words each week! brilliant!).

What the hell is up with the meat they give you at Subway? You get reasonably fresh lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, etc...so why is the meat (which to me, is the essence *of* a good sandwich/submarine) this generic, pre-sliced dogfood???

I hate it when you go to a semi-decent restaurant and the forks are shitty. If I'm paying $20+ for an entree, I don't want the forks to bend when I'm gnawin' apart my steak.
