Hello everyone,

When approaching a new project or application, it’s important to remember that a strong foundation developed on a stable platform is essential. Knowing the limitations of your infrastructure or media outlet, is key in realizing the full potential of your product. Whether it be a 3D visualization for BMW, or an enterprise level web application, knowing where your product will “exist” is as important as knowing what your product is.

For the web, it can be a little trickier than visual stimulation such as commercials, advertisements or design work. With work that primarily exists outside of the internet, it’s easier to make projections about length, timing, quality and the general way your project will be viewed, consumed, heard and absorbed. On the internet, things can be a little different. Millions of people use different web browsers, have varying internet speeds, and different sized screens. Additionally, outside factors can heavily weigh on the performance of a web project. For example, a highly trafficked website or application can experience extreme peaks and valleys in the amount of resources necessary to keep it running smoothly.

Whether you’re just getting started in design or development, or have been doing this for years. Whether you’re a competitor of ours, or simply interested in the process. It’s important to remember that a stable and robust foundation is an essential element to long term success. Manage your web infrastructure, make sure your code is obsessively clean, organize those keyframes and layers, set yourself up for easy scaling.

The best way to prepare for the long term with any project, is to build your cake first, and ice it later.

For Soul Pancake 1.0, we wanted strong marketing and branding to generally enforce the “Welcome to Soul Pancake” experience. Because our time-frame was only roughly 8 weeks, all the functionality involved was very extensive.

Hello all !

If you haven’t recently checked out MacBlogz.com, be sure and stop by soon. We’ve implemented a new feature in the site called PostSnap. Here’s a brief description of the feature straight from our explanation on MacBlogz, which you can find here.

The following is From The MacBlogz Team:

From time to time, you may see us testing new features around here. While we do all of our development on staging sites, occasionally we have to implement certain things into the live site and monitor how they’ll react with the rest of the site’s usability. One of the most important and intensive features we’ve been working on is ready to be unveiled… We would like to officially introduce you to our PostSnap module navigation.

If you own an iPhone, you’re familiar with the fetch feature that can retrieve your email periodically throughout the day from your mailbox and download it to your iPhone. PostSnap acts in the same way. PostSnap will retrieve posts from the community between every 5 to 15 minutes and display them on the MacBlogz homepage. Much in the same way the iPhone retrieves your email.

Here’s a quick rundown:

To use our new feature, simply start by pressing Previous Posts to load older posts in sequential order. You will now notice that 2 different headlines will populate the module. Don’t be alarmed, that’s supposed to happen.

From here you will be able to navigate even further back as well go forward by hitting Next Posts. If at any point you lose your place in time, not to worry, simply hit the reset button.

So thats it, we hope you enjoy PostSnap.

It’s been a long time coming, but finally, after weeks and weeks of anticipation, MacBlogz.com has launched !

From conception through development leading up to our initial launch, this project has been amazingly rewarding. MacBlogz holds a special place in our hearts and we are more than excited about sharing this wonderful addition with the Mac, Apple and online tech community.

Although MacBlogz.com has only launched a few days ago, some readers are already discovering how wonderfully accessible the site is. “Please don’t change anything, it’s perfect!” reader Michael writes. “Your site gets it. It’s laid out beautifully and extremely informative. It simplifies my quest for Apple news.” reader O.S. writes when comparing MacBlogz to another Apple news source. “I just wanted to give you guys props for the amazing design. The site is super simple to navigate, not bombarded with advertisements, and communicates its vision brilliantly. Keep up the great work….I can’t wait to see the direction this site takes. Congrats on a successful launch!” writes another satisfied reader.

We are greatly appreciative of this wonderful response and have taken all feedback into account. The Mac and Apple community can be some of the hardest people to please, but that’s because we’re all used to the best. So, our warm reception has flattered us.

A Press Release has been issued this morning, and we’ve been mentioned in a few sites already. Here are some links:

Managing time is a big priority for us. Our projects tend to last for extended periods of time and communication is at high levels throughout a majority of most projects. We have to stay on focus, organized and completely in control of project files, documents, on-going development, design and putting all the pieces of the puzzle together along the way.

Each project can generally be split into two broad categories or stages. 1. Conceptualizing the project’s mission and goals, and 2. Developing the tangible, functioning application of those conceptual thoughts to achieve the project’s goals.

So, during both of these broad project stages, absolute focus and mind clarity is a must. Managing time between conception and actual technical limitations is another high priority. We don’t think about technical limitations when we brainstorm or conceptualize with our project partners/clients or for in-house development. It’s all about how crazy you can take a thought or an idea and run with it. If we technically think about our project before we conceptually developed an idea, we would be starting with limitations. Who wants to START with limitations ? This also plays into time management in a major way because if certain expectations within a project cannot be met by technical standards, then we have to go back to the drawing board. All of these factors have to be factored into successful time management.

When you see a project successfully come together within a day or two of your projected delivery/launch date, and all the pieces have been successfully set in motion, your time management has been successful.

We pride ourselves on being experts at time management here at Think Brilliant. And because we’re experts at time management, we won’t waste yours, or ours.
