What is Ethernet: -

Ethernet is a connection media access method that allows all hosts on a network to share the same bandwidth [communication expressed in bit/s or Kbit/Mbit/sec] of link.

Ethernet is popular because it’s readily scalable, meaning that it’s comparatively easy to integrate new technologies such as:-

In 1990s 10Base2 was popular Ethernet Technology. OpenSocial Development is a set of common application programming interfaces (APIs) for web-based social network applications, developed by Google along with My Space and a number of other social networks. It was released November 1, 2007.
OpenSocial gives you an Environment to Develop Your own Application and Post on web. The open social application space is currently buzzing - Myspace, Bebo, Facebook, Orkut, Hi5 all with their own application platforms and some level of interaction with the open social platform.
OpenSocial Applications Based on HTML and JavaScript, as well as the Google Gadgets framework, OpenSocial includes APIs for social software applications to access data and core functions on participating social networks.

OpenSocial is commonly described as a more open cross-platform alternative to the Facebook Platform, a proprietary service of the popular social network service Facebook.
Google owned Orkut where you can upload your Application. Orkut is a very Popular Social Network where you increase popularity of your Application.

Setting up the basics:
If you're starting a new gadget, you should create a new XML file for it — call it mygadget.xml. Begin with the usual XML boilerplate, and include the social API. Something reflective of the purpose of the application (the samples will amend the version number to help you keep track of the iterations in this lab).

Bat file programming is a way of executing set of command by a single click or enters.
Batch file programming is a windows version of UNIX shell programming.
Command.com is file in windows that handles all DOS commands.
Copy, dir, md etc they are built in command called internal commands.
DOS has also External Commands such as BACKUP, FORMAT, UNDELETE etc
Then why need BATCH file programming..???
For executing set of commands you not need to remember commands in batch file, you just double click on *.bat extension file and then it perform an appropriate task.
For writing batch file program you can use NOTEPAD and EDIT [dos editor] editor both are Easy to write Batch File program.
After writing code you have to save file with *.bat extension.
After saving file you can execute via double click or open DOS prompt and type your batch file name, like
C:/>mybatch.bat

ECHO This Batch File deletes all unwanted Temporary files from your system
ECHO Now we go to the Windows¥temp directory.
cd windows¥temp
ECHO Deleting unwanted temporary files....
del *.tmp
ECHO Your System Temporary files now Clean

Echo is use to print the message.

Save this file with name mymove.bat, it will be delete your system’s temporary files.

echo off
mkdir %1
echo **the newly created directoryis %1**
move %2 %1
echo **the file is moved to directory%1**
Telnet is a network Protocol used on the internet or local area networks, Typically telnet provide access to "command-line interface" on a remote host via a virtual terminal connection which consist of an 8 bit byte oriented data connection over the TCP.
Through Telnet, an administrator or another user can access someone else's computer remotely.
On the Web, HTTP and FTP protocols allow you to request specific files from remote computers, but not to actually be logged on as a user of that computer. With Telnet, you log on as a regular user with whatever privileges you may have been granted to the specific application and data on that computer.
An IP address is separate by . [Dot] b/w the numeric values.
Like every computer has its local IP, & the address of Local IP is 127.0.0.1
Every Domain name has its own IP address in World Wide Web [www].
An IP address help to domain identify uniquely in WWW. An IP address has two components, the Network Address & the Host Address.

Types of IP-Address:

#1) IP Loopback Address:

127.0.0.1 Is the loopback address in IP. Loopback is a test mechanism of network adapters. As with broadcast, IP officially reserves the entire range from 127.0.0.0 through 127.255.255.255 for loopback purposes.

#2) Zero Addresses:

As with the loopback range, the address range from 0.0.0.0 through 0.255.255.255 should not be considered part of the normal Class A range. 0.x.x.x addresses serve no particular function in IP, but nodes attempting to use them will be unable to communicate properly on the Internet.

#3) IP Private Address:

The IP standard defines specific address ranges within Class A, Class B, and Class C reserved for use by private networks (intranets). The table below lists these reserved ranges of the IP address space.

Class----Private start address----Private finish address
A---------10.0.0.0---------------10.255.255.255
B---------172.16.0.0--------------172.31.255.255
C---------192.168.0.0--------------192.168.255.255

Nodes are effectively free to use addresses in the private ranges if they are not connected to the Internet, or if they reside behind firewalls or other gateways that use Network Address Translation (NAT).
