Tiberium Cancelled

You have to respect a company that would sacrifice profits for quality. That is what is happening over at EALA. During an interview EA spokesperson Mariam Sughayer said, "The game was not on track to meet the high quality standards set by the team and by the EA Games Label. There were fundamental problems with the design of the game that the team struggled to correct."<div class="feedflare">

Eagle Eye Review

Jerry Shaw and Rachel Holloman are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and family, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations--using the technology of everyday life to track and control their every move. As the situation escalates, these two ordinary people become the country's most wanted fugitives, who must work together to discover what is really happening. Fighting for their lives, they become pawns of a faceless enemy who seems to have limitless power to manipulate everything they do.<div class="feedflare">

Class Action Lawsuit filed against Spore's DRM

Look out! The debate over Spore’s DRM is far from over. Here at Down in Front we have had many healthy debates over whether or not Digital Rights Management is a good thing for gamers and business alike. For those of you who happened to miss those debates, I suggest you check out the radio show Episode 43 (http://www.thinkdif.com/dif-radio/broadcasts/the-truth-episode-43/), and the intense debate in the forums. Putting my personal feelings on the subject aside about whether or not some form of copy protection is needed in the world and after reading the court document let me just say it's not looking good for EA. Let's take a look at some of the key points in the law suit...<div class="feedflare">

45nm cell processor showing up in 2009

So on my daily quest for interesting news I ran across this tasty little piece of information. Japan's Nikkan is reporting that Sony along with Toshiba will be ready to mass produce it's new 45nm Cell processor in 2009. The new chip will be smaller and cheaper to produce than the PS3's current 65nm processor. The processor also requires 40% less power run which in return produces less heat. How does that benefit gamers?<div class="feedflare">

Game releases this week 9-22-2008

Unfortunately, unlike last week there's not a whole lot worth mentioning this week. While the list is on the longer side, only a few games really caught my eye. Games like Brother in Arms: Hell's Highway, and hell maybe even Lego's Batman...I know, I know, Lego's Batman? well...Lego's Star Wars was kinda fun... so who knows... Anyway on to the list...<div class="feedflare">

Burn After Reading Review

At the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency in Arlington, Va., analyst Osborne Cox arrives for a top-secret meeting. Unfortunately for Cox, the secret is soon out: he is being ousted. Cox does not take the news particularly well and returns to his Georgetown home to work on his memoirs and his drinking, not necessarily in that order. His wife Katie is dismayed, though not particularly surprised; she is already well into an illicit affair with Harry Pfarrer, a married federal marshal, and sets about making plans to leave Cox for Harry. Elsewhere in the Washington, D.C., suburbs, and seemingly worlds apart, Hardbodies Fitness Centers employee Linda Litzke can barely concentrate on her work. She is consumed with her life plan for extensive cosmetic surgery, and confides her mission to can-do colleague Chad Feldheimer. Linda is all but oblivious to the fact that the gym's manager Ted Treffon pines for her even as she arranges dates via the Internet with other men. When a computer disc containing material for the CIA analyst's memoirs accidentally falls into the hands of Linda and Chad, the duo are intent on exploiting their find. As Ted frets, "No good can come of this," events spiral out of everyone's and anyone's control, in a cascading series of darkly hilarious encounters.<div class="feedflare">
