Dying Light - Find Dawud a Gun

In this quest Dawud from the Tower Safehouse asks you to find him a gun, in return he's offered keys to a pawn shop he owns. The problem is you have no idea where to find a gun, instead of scrummaging around forever looking for a gun I have found a place on the map with a police car that has not one but TWO guns...which is perfect since you can give one to Dawud and keep the other for yourself. We're making some big changes around here, especially to our main site www.thinking1440.com. We're implementing a new Q&A site so you can ask questions when you get stuck somewhere, updating our forums, and moving to a new webserver, Nginx.

1. Moving to the Cloud. This allows us to grow as the site grows. We'll be able to offer a lot more to our dedicated readers.

2. SSL for all our pages. Soon all the pages you view on our mainsite will be over SSL not just the login pages. This means that you can browse securely without hackers or the government monitoring your every move.

3. CDN. We've already got our Content Delivery Network up and running which means faster page loads for you so you can get to the content you care about faster than ever before.

4. Nginx, The top sites in the world are using Nginx (pronounced Engine-x) including Netflix, Hulu, and Facebook. It can handle many concurrent requests with low memory usage. We will be ditching the Apache webserver for Nginx in the coming weeks.

5. SPDY (pronounced Speedy), is a technology developed by Google to help "speed" up the web. Youtube and other Google sites are already served over SPDY. Soon all our pages will be using this same technology to deliver our content even faster.

Star Wars Battlefront Trailer

Star Wars Battlefront trailer was revealed at E3 2014 and it's looking like the next-gen defining game in terms of graphics out of anything we saw at E3. Keep in mind that it's early in-game footage and "optimizations" will be made before this ever reaches consoles.

Regardless of that this could still shape up to be the best Star Wars game ever made, at least the developers have those aspirations, we shall see if they can deliver. Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think

Crysis 3 Beta is now available for Free from Orgin. You must download Orgin and install it on your PC. Xbox users can search for the beta in the marketplace. You can Download Origin HERE Once Installed
Go to the "Demo" section and you'll see it there. There seems to be a lot of lag for now but it's still fun to see how nice they made the game. To make this playable there will need to be much less lag, with 16 players it was really hard to get a shot at someone. Especially in Hunter mode.

Microsoft Releases Xbox Music Service

Microsoft has launched the Xbox Music Service. The new service allows for Free Music Streaming, Music Discovery, Offline Listening, Creating and saving playlists, and is all in the "Cloud".

With Windows 8 and Windows RT tablets and PCs, you can stream millions of songs free. Search for any artist, song, or full album and instantly play whatever you want. It launches on October 16, 2012.

Bioware is going to address fan's concerns about the Mass Effect 3 ending by releasing and Extended cut DLC hopefully due out by this summer. Some of the voice actors have confirmed that they've been called back into the studio...

I think we all know the real reason it's been delayed. There are too many big titles due out this fall like Halo 4 or Far Cry 3 for this game to compete.

Game Sales Down 42%...

Game Sales have dropped 42% in April compared to the same month last year according to NPD Group.
The data does not however, take into account the rise in digital sales that may offset the decline.

Games are readily available for digital download through Xbox Live or EA's own Origin where you can play demos on-the-fly without downloading anything.

Gamestop warned investors with a statement that it expects to report a 12.5% drop in same-store sales. It's important to keep in mind that gamers are buying on the secondary market as well (e.g. Amazon) rather than purchasing games new, and with RedBox locations also having game renting kiosks at many of it's locations there is less overall demand to purchase games.

One of the biggest factors not realized is that a console refresh is badly needed for the industry. We're still running games on technology from 7 years ago, which is also why console sales are probably down. Recently, Microsoft announced a Xbox 360 Bundle with Kinect for $99. Sony and Microsoft need to release the PS4 and the next Xbox soon, doing so would help charge a market in limbo. Details have been leaked about the new Xbox but so far it's mostly speculation, specifications can easily change this early on in the process. New consoles are expected by the end of 2013 or 2014.
