Hey everyone,I am not usually into poems but I like this one,and thanks to my readers from New Zealand,England,India,Israel,Pakistan and Argentina,thanks for getting to know me.
Just could this be paradise

Its very easy to think about what you dont have and what you want to have,and forget the precious things you already have in your life.

I have been at my new job 2 weeks now and I am liking it alot.After not working for 2 years after an accident,it feels great.I love jokes so here is a good one.

My girlfriend and I walked past a new posh restaurant last night'Did you smell that food?,it smells incredible." she said.Being the nice guy I am, I thought "I am going to treat her".So we turned round and walked passed it again.

Before I go everyone is so happy here in New Zealand after the All Blacks won the Rugby World Cup for the second time.The photo is of Captain Richie Macaw holding up The William Webb Eliss Cup.

We should be going into summer here in New Zealand,but today winter came back,we had heavy rain and wind and it went down to 7C,lets hope it warms up quickly.

Lets finish with a joke,we all need a laugh dont we.

Hello everyone,it was sad yesterday to hear of the death on Steve Jobs the ex CEO of Apple,he has changed the way we live and communicate,he has left us amazing technology.He has been compared to Henry Ford and Thomson Edison he was an amazing man.I love this quote from Steve.
"Your time is limited,so dont waste it living someone else's life"

It also makes you think of your own mortality I think,he was 2 years younger then me,and it proves it does not matter how famous you are or how rich,when its your time to go that's it.

Hey everyone,I hope you are all good and your weekend has gone well.We had beautiful weather this last week,but the weekend has brought rain,but spring is here at last.I saw this quote today and liked it,I hope you do.

I have told you before how much I love reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne,I liked the part when she said dont focus on what you dont want to happen,if you do that it will happen,start to imagine what it would be like to have the things you want.It took me a while to go from negative thoughts to positive ones.I will give you an example.I got an unexpected check from England 6 weeks ago,its takes that long for the funds to be cleared in my account,it was $300.The day it cleared in my bank,I needed $280 to fix some things on my car.It was like it was meant to be.I was not unhappy with the garage bill,because One problem was the brakes and the other I needed a new Tyre,both a big safety issue.I could not have paid it without that money.I was very grateful to pay for the repairs.They keep me and my boys safe in the car.

Our House is a Happy House

Hey everyone,why is our house a happy house?Well I have a job at last,its a security job at a new Power Station that is being built just out of town.Its one of 3 being built as they have found large pockets of geothermal steam under ground.and its renewable energy which makes it even better.and my eldest boy is away at a study camp,to get ready for his big end of year exams,where he hopes to get some good results so he can go to university.my youngest boy has just got a part-time job at MacDonalds so he is happy to be earning money.And it stops him asking for me for money lol.We had a wonderful sunny day here today the sun was so warm,everyone looks happier when the weather is nice.And my football team in England won,so that was the icing on the cake.There were so many camper vans in town today from lots of different countries here to follow their teams in the Rugby World Cup.Most are fascinated by the beauty of Taupo,and on a day like today it just looks magical.I saw alot of people taking photos of the full size plane outside MacDonalds,you can eat inside it,I am not sure if this the only one.

Hey everyone,spring really is coming here now,all the trees have blossom and the spring flowers are coming out,wonderful.I am going to have a bit of a rant today.I am sure this type of thing happens all over the world,but on our news they said they want to put a warning before any film that shows people smoking,I mean what next,I am an ex smoker but when I see someone light up on the Tv or movies I dont rush out for a packet of ciggies.So the do-gooders are at it again.What next I wonder no one kissing in movies might raise the teenage pregnancy numbers.And no cars they might encourage people to jump in a car and hurt someone or themselves.Its becoming a Nanny State.Soon the Prime Minister will be ringing up to tell us its time for bed.The world has gone Politically Correct MAD.Let people make up there own mind about what they want to do.I mean how many people have caused an accident in a car after smoking 6 cigarettes,cant remember hearing of any.But 6 drinks sure happens all the time.Dont get me wrong I have nothing against anti-smoking groups,but why do people who smoke get such a hard time,and heavy drinkers not too much.I would love to get your views on this subject so please leave a comment thanks have a great day....Tony

He is a very funny guy,as you will tell from me other posts,I am trying to think more positive in my life,even though I have not got a job yet,and I am a single Dad to 2 teenagers,I still have so much to be grateful for.I have tried something else this week,I have stopped watching the news,I realised it was so depressing.So we have dinner and talk and laugh or watch a funny program.I think someone should bring out a good news channel so its lifts our spirits instead of depressing us.Found this really good web-site about Taupo where I live,have a look.

Rugby World Cup Mad

Hey everyone,I feel sorry for anyone here in new Zealand that does not like Rugby at the moment,you cant escape it.The All Blacks had a big win over Japan 83-7,which sounds like a thumping,but the last time they met in the World Cup it was 143-17 so they have made a bit of improvement,but I dont think it will cheer them up much.As I write this my youngest son Mark is strumming his guitar and singing,he loves his music,and also his Video making for you tube have a look.www.youtube.com/thepickaTV .he has some editing software on his computer and is doing really well.Thats all for today will leave you with a quote today instead of a joke,take care out there and be nice to each other....Tony

Life can throw some funny things at you sometimes.I thought today I must do more to get fit,so I took my boys to College,left my car in town and walked home.Its about 6kl or about 4 miles,on the way home the weather was a bit windy,but okay.The only problem getting to my house is you cannot avoid walking up hill,this is due to Taupo being built on the side of a Volcano,but the last time it erupted was 2,000 years ago lol.
When it was time for me to walk back to town the wind had got alot stronger,so much the waves on the lake were crashing in,making it look more like the sea.And I had heavy showers falling on me,but I just keep walking along listening to my Ipod and was happy,its all about your state of mind I think.I should find out by the end of the week if I have the job I applied for so everyone cross their fingers.I love the comments some of you leave,keep it up,and can you follow me as well please.And every time you click on an advert on my page I earn a little money,but it all helps me.take care everyone and smile at a stranger and help make the world happier.......Tony

Its not summer just yet

Hey everyone,first I would just like to mention 9/11,it is that day now in New Zealand and my thoughts go out to all the families and friends who face another remembrance day.
I thought Spring or even summer had come early in New Zealand,we have had 4 days of cloudless sky's and warm sunny days,and today rain,wind and no sun.Oh well another excuse to watch sport on TV lol.Its the Rugby World Cup here at the moment,so much going on,plus the Tennis Open at Flushing Meadows,the football in England,how will I find time to do anything else.It almost feels a waste of time going to sleep ha ha.
Maybe its a good job there is just me and my 2 sons in our house,we can watch as much as we want.
I have a week to find out if I have got the job I applied for,cross your fingers for me,I so need to get back to work and earn more money,it was sad today but also a bit funny,I went to the supermarket to get a few things and stopped at the petrol station on the way home,and all the petrol I could put in my car was $5,just hope it lasts until I get my next benefit.have a nice day and look after yourself and the people you love...Tony

Life can be hard but make it fun

Hey everyone,well hopefully Spring has come early to New Zealand,the nights are still cold but lovely warm sunny days.I am in an up beat mood,I have almost got a job as a Security Guard,I have not worked for 2 years,as first I had an accident and fractured 4 vertebrae,then my 2 boys came to live with me,so its been a very tough 2 years.Money is so tight and my eldest is hopefully going to Uni next year so I have to get money,I have put a donation button on my page just in case anyone has a couple of dollars to spare,I hate asking.As anyone with teenagers will know teenagers eat from the minute they open their eyes to the time when they close,even then I think they dream about food lol.But despite all the hard times we are all happy,we laugh alot in our house,and it makes such a big difference.I am grateful to have 2 happy healthy boys,that are well adjusted to take on the world.Have a great day everyone and be kind to each other...Tony

Fathers Day in New Zealand

Hey everyone,its Fathers day here in New Zealand today,and I woke to brilliant sunshine coming into my bedroom.after I showered and dressed I walked into my Lounge and on the table was a cup of coffee,with a note saying drink!lol.And on the sliding door going into the Dining Room another note saying Stay Out!si did as I was told and sat down to drink my coffee.A few moments later my 2 sons walked into the lounge saying Happy Fathers Day,carrying a plate of homemade pancakes with Golden Syrup on.It was so lovely,I was just about to put the first forkful in my mouth,my eldest said they might taste a bit like sausages as we used the same pan,I just laughed so much,but you know what?They tasted awesome,maybe a new recipe there.So had a very happy day.I love to laugh and it make you feel better so I will finish with a clever joke,take care everyone,and be happy.....Tony.

Hey everyone,today was one of those wonderful day when I woke up and it felt good to be alive.before I got up I followed an idea from The Secret.That is before you get out of bed,go through your day and what you have to do and plan how you would like it to turn out,it just makes me feel better.Most days though my day starts with our 2 cats begging me to feed them.One of them even has worked out that if he uses his back leg to scratch his ear the noise wakes me,so much for them beings my boys cats lol.I am going after 2 jobs today,I have my C.V. all prepared,so I feel it could be my day.My youngest son Mark is so busy these days making Videos so he can upload them to YouTube,he is so clever now he edits them,puts music on,and stars in them himself.I have to be careful round the house now as a camera is never far away lol.Have a look at some of his Videos .

Week to week living

Hey everyone,I think everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment,here in New Zealand there is a big debate on milk prices,they have gone up so much,while at the same time,there is always a special on Fizzy Drinks Coke etc.And processed food is everywhere,and its so bad for you.They are full of salt,fat, additives and preservatives.and now you can use the wonder of the Internet to get recipes that are not only cheap to make,but you know exactly what is in them.I have started planning my meal for me and my 2 sons,then just buying what I need.As anyone whos has teenage boys will know,they just eat from morning till night lol.I dont buy cakes or biscuits,I make them and my boys love them.I have to save money as much as I can.I am looking for a job,but after being off work sick for 2 years after an accident,then my sons came to live with me,its almost impossible to stretch my benefit.I do have a support button on my site,hate to ask but any spare dollar would help me.I have sent off 20 job applications in the last few weeks,but so far no luck.But I keep positive and I keep reading The Secret book,which I find very uplifting,I urge you to read it if you can. But lets be positive its a beautiful day here in Taupo,feels like Spring is here already.As I was born in England I love football (soccer for some lol)the team I follow Ipswich Town play in the championship,and hard to believe but when they win,it makes my day brighter ha ha.Anything helps to make you feel good.I will leave you today with a joke take care out there and smile...Tony

As the needle jumped up to 80 mph, he suddenly saw flashing red and blue lights behind him. "There's no way they can catch a Mercedes," he thought to himself and opened her up further. The needle hit 90, 100.... Then the reality of the situation hit him. "What am I doing?" he thought and pulled over. The cop came up to him, took his license without a word and examined it and the car. "It's been a long day, this is the end of my shift and it's Friday the 13th. I don't feel like more paperwork, so if you can give me an excuse for your driving that I haven't heard before, you can go."

Its funny what life can throw at you.2 years ago I was working full time carpet cleaning.I was living in a one bedroom unit,and saw my 2 sons every 2 weeks.Then I received a phone call from my Sister in England telling me that my Father had died,he was 84 and had dementia and was in a rest-home,but somehow you think your parents will live forever.I booked a flight to England,after getting time off work and arranging a loan to pay for my trip.My Sister was so relieved I could make it.She is so wonderful she had been looking after our Dad before he went into care.The one good thing about the trip was meeting my son and daughter who I had not seen for years and my 2 grandkids that I had never met.I came back to New Zealand and went back to work,A couple of days later while I was helping a friend fix a TV Antennae,I fell off the roof and down 10 mitres .I fractured 4 vertebrae and also broke my sternum.

I mended slowly then a year ago my youngest Mark asked if he could live with me,of course I said yes,and a couple of months after that,my ex told me she could not manage,and was moving in with her boyfriend in another town,my eldest Jared did not want to move Schools in his last year at College so he came to live with me.Now I just receive a Benefit every week and its so hard to manage,most weeks we run out of money.But I do my best we all all happy,we joke alot and have fun.And this is why I started to think positive and be grateful for the good things in my life.Its not always easy but you can train your mind and it works,every day is a new challenge,you all take care out there and smile at a stranger and make their day.....Tony

Hi everyone,you must of heard of the saying "laughter is the best medicine",well I think its true,if I ever feel a bit down,I will watch my favorite comedy and being English,I love Fawlty Towers and Only Fools and Horses.and they really lift me into a good mood.So I will start with a joke.
A Swiss man, looking for directions, pulls up at a bus stop where two Americans are waiting. “Entschuldigung, koennen Sie Deutsch sprechen?” he asks. The two Americans just stare at him. “Excusez-moi, parlez vous Fracais?” he tries. The two continue to stare. “Parlare Italiano?” No response. “Hablan ustedes Espanol?” Still nothing. The Swiss guy drives off, extremely disgusted. The first American turns to the second and says, “Y’know, maybe we should learn a foreign language.” “Why?” says the other. “That guy knew four languages, and it didn’t do him any good.”

I think its funny that when someone is talking to a person that cant speak their language very well,they shout as if the poor person is deaf,or they start waving their arms around to try to get them to understand.
Another thing I do to lift my mood is play my favorite music,either in the house,the car,or go for a walk with my Ipod on,plus the exercise and fresh air makes you feel better.you just have to make sure you are not singing away,oblivious to the fact you dont sound as good as you think to people walking close to you.
We are nearly into spring here in New Zealand,the nights are still cold,but the days this past week have been warm and sunny,long may it continue.I would love it if people who read this send me a comment on where they live and what the climate is like.I love to travel,I have been to America 3 times,and worked in Egypt for 5 years,where I worked on a Peacekeepers Military camp.It was a wonderful 5 years,I will tell you more about life there in another blog.
I hope you are all happy with your life,and please think positive,next time you walk past someone smile at them,and most likely they will smile back and pass it on to someone else.Till next time.......Tony

Living in New Zealand

Hello everyone.I was born in England,and came to live in New Zealand 16 years ago,the culture is not much different here so it was easy to make the move.There is alot to be grateful for living here,we are so far away from some of the problems of living in the Northern hemisphere.The weather lol,and the weather.But I look at all the trouble spots in the world and we have none of that.Today is a great example for the weather,if you get a frost in England it can hang around all day,but here in Taupo we get sharp frosts {last night -4},but then we get beautiful sunny days,its still cold but its lovely.Across lake Taupo,you can see the snowy mountains,which are only a hour ans a half drive,big ski resort there.But just standing by the lake looking at the beautiful view,is up- lifting and lifts your spirits.You should have a look at where I live and try to visit one day. www.laketaupo.co.nz .You can go Tandem Sky Diving,Bungee Jumping and so many more great things.Lots of great places to eat and at Piccalos Cafe you will find the best Coffee in Taupo.My Sister and Niece came here for a holiday and they did not want to leave to go back to England,and everyone who comes here on holiday says they could move here so easily.

Hi everyone,I would like to talk to you about being positive.I know sometimes it can seem that life is dealing you a bad hand of cards.A good thing to do is to write down all the good things in your life,you may be surprised at your list.And never say to yourself I cant,or nothing nice ever happens to me,a negative mind will attract negative things to happen in your life.And try to think of what you want to happen in your life,more money,to lose weight.If you expect bad things to happen in your life,they will surly happen.just the other week,I was day dreaming about some extra money coming to me,and 2 days later I got a tax refund of $700 that I was not expecting.And you will find that if you are positive,you will lift the mood of all the people you come into contact with..some good things to are,put on a CD of music you love and you will find yourself singing along to the lyrics,and it will make you feel so much better.Contact a friend you haven't seen for a while and catch up for a lovely talk.And watch a favorite DVD that makes you smile and laugh,it really is the best medicine.I am now going to have a long walk by the beautiful lake in my town in Taupo New Zealand,it always makes me feel good looking at the beautiful snowy mountains.The air is crisp and fresh it can work wonders.Have a great day and take care.Tony

How many people look in the mirror before getting into the shower,and dont like what they see,I myself have done that.So we say to ourselves I must lose some pounds.I have found that lack of exercise can cause alot of the problem,so find a friend who also want to lose weight,and work out a walking schedule,its so much easier to walk with someone else,you can talk about your day and before you know it you have been walking for 30 mins.Dont try to do too much at first,try 30 mins the first week and build up from there.Of course what you eat has to be looked at,its a fact that in this fast paced world,more people have take-always,and the trouble with those you just dont know whats in them.get into the habit of planning your meals for the week,shop from this list of meals and you will save money by not impulse shopping.for a busy family Crock-Pot meals are great,you can prepare them the evening before,turn them on in the morning and bingo you walk into your house after work and a wonderful smell greets you plus of course a wonder hot meal.Cooking a roast in the crock pot is awesome,you just put your choice of roast in an oven bag put it in the crock pot with a little water and believe me you wont believe how tender it is.plus no sticky roast pan to scrub.Try some of these tips and let me know how you do,and add your own tips.Thanks for reading
