Amazon to release tablet today?

2011-09-28T08:13:00.001-04:00

The internet is buzzing on the possible news of a Amazon tablet to battle the evil Apple iPad but some are hoping for something bigger. Possibly the merger or purchase of netflix, though it's a far fetched idea anything is possible these days.

Nothing is for certain but the skies the limit and we shall find out if Amazon is in it to win it today! Leave comments on what you think Amazon has up their sleeves and if you feel it's a game changer.

The first RIM Qnx Blackberry!

2011-09-19T19:52:00.001-04:00

This one came from left field but I have received reports that this very well could be the Super Blackberry with Qnx. The picture does not give the device justice but does show RIM is being smart about the release of a device that could revamp it's image and especially it's hopes! Could this be the true Superphone all RIM lovers are hoping for

BES boss leaves RIM for another company!

2011-09-14T18:44:00.001-04:00

Another block taken from the jenga stack known as RIM as of late, the boss of BES (Business Enterprise Security) John Vandermay is leaving the company. This is number 5 in the executive loss pool.

Is this one more reason RIM might be sold? Maybe to Google , or HTC who this week said they would be willing to buy their own OS?

Either way hit the link below for more info.

Sprint iphone to have an iphone specific data plan!

2011-09-01T20:01:00.001-04:00

Per a visit to a local Sprint store I received an interesting tid bit of information. First a confirmation of the rumored iphone coming in October, but it doesn't stop there! When asked about unlimited data plans going away, the rep stated "Apple will have a specific data plan for the iphone on Sprint, but Androids will keep unlimited"! This is a first I've heard of iphone specific data plans but as a Android and a Sprint customer it great news compared to other rumors!

This is not confirmed but anything is possible with Apple and especially the iphone. For more info stay tuned to thinktechdaily.

Justice department to block AT&T/T-Mobile deal!

2011-08-31T11:10:00.001-04:00

Per several twitter accounts and cnet, the doj (department of justice) is putting a block on one of most hyped acquisition in the tech world. As a sprint customer and previous AT&T customer and techie, its great news as their deal would have raised rates and possibly phones prices due to limited competition.

Samsung ChatON- one more reason RIM is behind!

2011-08-30T08:16:00.001-04:00

Group messaging Apps are one the most popular forms of communication as of late in the wake of text rate hikes (which is a horrid abuse of power by the carriers- except for Sprint). But in the wake of the hype of these apps Samsung of all companies is here to save us?

Yes Samsung is here with ChatON, a new multi platform group messaging program the likes of Blackberry messenger! It is rumored to be announced at the IFA event overseas. Which all should be happy if it works as well as we hope it will.

Now comes the loser in this possibly, RIM and its blackberry messenger. RIM was rumored to introduce Blackberry messenger, it's knight in shining armor, to android this year and iOS early next year. Where you at RIM? If RIM even hopes to save itself you would think this was one thing they should have hope to capitalize on.

Don't get me wrong I love Rim as it holds a big spot in my heart but they missed another opportunity to get bbm out on more platforms. If RIM truly wants to gain more consumer buyers them they will have to make a move soon or fail to exist because they are losing many consumers, even in Canada! iPhone 5 rumors- Sprint to get iphone this October!

Toshiba developing app store and is coming installed on an updated tablet, this October(rumor)!

2011-08-23T11:53:00.001-04:00

You read it right folks, Toshiba is working on a app store aside from the android market. This isn't too surprising but what is, is the fact that it's going to come pre installed on a new updated (slim, less bulky, and powerful) tablet. Can this be a Thrive 2 or just an updated tablet in general under a new name? From inside they are really pressing on their team to push it out, which I hope produces a quality product.

I can't reveal my sources but trust me it's coming and coming fast! Stay here for more information on the matter, and hopefully it will be priced to compete!

GroupMe in agreement to be acquired by Skype!

2011-08-21T19:35:00.001-04:00

Per GroupMe's Twitter account they announced the following "Exciting news! Today, we have entered into an agreement to be acquired by Skype". This is great news if it means it can grow this multi platform group messenger program. The only concern I have with this is that Skype, who recently was acquired by Microsoft, could just become a Windows Phone only program and kill the potential it has as a Blackberry messenger alternative for the likes of Blackberry, Windows Phone, Android and iOS. I personally use GroupMe and hope it can become a all in one group/video chat client and retain its multi platform nature. Here's to what may be a great app to be. Goodbye HP/Palm- HP discontinues WebOS!

2011-08-19T09:21:00.001-04:00

There was Android, Apple iOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone and WebOS, now WebOS is no more. Per twitter this broke early thursday morning and then it became confirmed.

I never had an WebOS phone but this is sad. Question is, will anyone purchase the os or buy it for patents? Time will tell but my question is, is RIM next?

Google buying Motorola Mobility!

2011-08-15T08:29:00.001-04:00

Hello Moto! No matter how you feel about it you have to admit this is big news for the android community. Motorola has been a big part of androids push in the Verizon network and helped pave the way for honeycomb tablets for android.

Now before everyone gets a crazy about Motorola understand they are still going to run their mobility department (only the mobility department was purchased) as a separate company. Sorry no dedicated hardware vendor for google yet. But as Engadget states "what about the likes of Samsung and HTC"?

Only time will tell but for more hit the link below.

Sprints BlackBerry Bold 9930 priced $249. 99, WTF?

2011-08-11T11:16:00.001-04:00

Really? Is this a failure on Sprint’s side or RIM? You are having problems with consumer markets for your phones and you go and over price a phone with last year's HTC EVO 4G specs higher than even that phone or even an Apple iphone 4? At best this phone should have been priced at $199.99 and even that is above what anyone should pay for a Blackberry but it is the market average for a phone with it's specs.

I really RIM to come back but with pricing like this your are begging to get crushed. They buy blackberrys in Canada at these prices but not here especially when they are not even future proof.

All touch blackberry torch coming to Sprint & US Cellular!

2011-08-03T08:12:00.001-04:00

*update* Also coming to ATT as well!

Hot of the heals of their blackberry event in Toronto, RIM introduces a new blackberry torch (internally new, visually the same) and 2 all touch Torches. One is for ATT and the other for Sprint, but per their blog it does not state the processor power but one can assume it's the same as the new torch at 1.2 ghz single core processor.

Is this to little to late, or just in time? Both run the new (kind of) blackberry Os 7, can this compete with likes of android and Apple's iOs? For more info hit the link below.

RIM releases BBM 6 with BB Connected Application support.

2011-07-28T10:17:00.001-04:00

Finally a refresh for BBM in the form of BBM 6. This actually is a real refresh but brought some attention to BBM Connected Applications, and I fall back to the rumor of BBM on android/iOS.

This my personal speculation on the matter and I guess some hope that RIM will make a move to gain some positive attention, because they need it.

One more reason RIM is out of touch!

2011-07-25T19:53:00.001-04:00

They when things are bad, only people that truly care will say anything. Well I care about the Blackberry platform but it seems they are set for a date worse than Nokia, closer to Palm.

With the recent news of RIM cutting 2k jobs and not trimming any fat from the top I started to lose more hope. Then today's following tweet came out and signs the ship is going down started to show more than ever.

"You got it! New #BlackBerry devices are coming w/ our new OS, BlackBerry 7! Check back tmrw 4 deets on #BB7FanNight"

What is so sad about this is that they simply are delusional and stuck in the past. From their claims of a "superphone" that have specs of my phone from last year (htc evo 4g) to a new Os 7 (also known as Os 6.5). They just simply don't get it.

For lovers of the Blackberry platform I hope they get a solid Os and or adopt a entirely new OS to compete with Android and Apple's iOs.

In my personal opinion RIM should not stop with the Android App player and make Android their Os of choice and keep their current Os for it's lower level phones.

RIM axes 2000 jobs and more!

2011-07-25T08:19:00.001-04:00

In a move that brings sadness but comes as no surprise to the tech world, and RIM is releasing 2000 jobs. This move also includes changes in management that could be the move they've needed, or another sign of RIM's continued decline.

Regardless of what you think, RIM is making some moves which in my view may soon lead to a new OS or the adoption of an OS.

If you want more information or might be affected by this hit the link below.

BlackBerry PlayBook Android App player leaks!

2011-07-21T17:41:00.001-04:00

Well in light of continuous bad news with RIM there seems to be something good for them, and it's from Google. We heard about Blackberry running a Android App player (emulator of sorts) on their playbook tablet.

RIM states that they are not interested in using Android, but if this player brings some much (much, much, much) needed sales could they change their tone? Also did I mention it runs gingerbread 2.3.3?

Though the app is a little slow at this point I feel there is a chance RIM may use Android (this purely my own guess, not based on facts, just hope). If your interested hit the link below. on

RIM loses product manager to Samsung!

2011-07-20T08:14:00.001-04:00

In a surprising move Samsung acquires RIM's Playbook senior product manager. Surprising since someone wanted something involving Rim and product in the same sentence.

If things weren't already bad for RIM this happens signaling rats jumping off a sinking ship. For RIM I hope they take this as a sign but only time will tell and it may take 6months (timeline before the 2 ceo setup is possibly dissolved) before they realize that changes are needed. Let's just hope they last that long.

Htc kingdom to be released as the Hero 4G (rumor) ?

2011-07-19T07:10:00.001-04:00

In what would be a smart move, the rumored HTC Kingdom that will heading to Sprint has been rumored to be branded as the Hero 4G. As an original Hero owner I feel this is a great move. The original Hero has a great following and was the original android phone for some, including yours truly.

The specs read as a 3D less EVO 3D, minus the fact that it is a 756 mb dual core and not 1.2 dual core. I have the Evo 3D and love it but I can see where this is a good spot filler like the htc droid incredible is for the Verizon line up. Things might be getting a lot better at sprint.

Google announces it's new and improved Android Market and from the looks of it, it's what we've all been waiting for. The movies & book rentals and all the Apps you love in a new slick ui.

Is Google finally shaping up and going to introduce all this along with the full roll out of Google+ (which I still wait to join)? Will this finally push its app store into apple status?

We will all be hoping that this is a sign of a more energized Google experience to finally surpass the Appleverse, until then hit the link below for more info.

Google+ from the outside!

2011-07-07T08:10:00.001-04:00

*update* I have been invited per a twitter friend @CharissaCowart - new article to come soon, from the inside!

If you have Google+ this is not for you unless you just got a it, then you can understand where I'm coming from, for all other's hear me out.

I listen to podcast I view pulse, and even email but no Google+ for me. I hear all these people tell me how great it is and hell even Zuckerberg is on it an he is the competition. As a first time adopter it burns to no be apart of something that sounds to be so epic.

I know in due time it will come but Facebook is getting old and I already live in the Google world so why not make this thing official. Like so many others I feel like the desperate guy begin for a chance with the hot chicken.

We all love the innovations Google brings to the table but the waiting is killing me. I feel like Celine Dion in her song "all by myself", so Google hurry up with my invite. Thanks for hearing my rant.
