Here’s an interesting short video created by Imaginary Forces about the desk. “The Desk” examines the relationship and habits between artists and their desks. Directed by Mark Gardner, it includes interviews with design writer/critic Alice Twemlow, legendary graphic designer Massimo Vignelli, illustrator David Miller, product designer Søren Kjær, and novelist Kurt Andersen.

This is an interesting video using photographic and animation techniques that were developed to draw moving 3-dimensional typography and objects with an iPad. In dark environments, we play movies on the surface of the iPad that extrude 3-d light forms as they move through the exposure. Multiple exposures with slightly different movies make up the stop-frame animation.

The French animation collective H5 came up with an interesting animation looking into a world run by corporate logos.

Blue Angel Vodka wanted to know what would happen if five of their favorite directors had the exact same creative brief and budget to make a video showcasing their own unique vision of how to make a BAM aka Blue Angel Martini.

This stop-motion animation is part of the GAME OVER Project from the French-Swiss artist Guillaume Reymond. This stop-motion video was shot and played for the new ProHelvetia’s programme GameCulture at the Trafo cinema (Baden, Switzerland) on August 28th 2010. This giant game was played by 111 human pixels that has moved from seat to seat during more than 4 hours.

I saw a presentation made by Robert Hodgin a few years ago at FITC Toronto. He had recently created this animation for a contest that Radiohead put on to create your own music video.

Evan Roth has created an interesting music video mashup out of animated gifs.

Gary Chang is an architect that operates the architecture firm EDGE Design Institute out of Hong Kong. He purchased this 344-square-foot apartment in 1988 for $45,000 located in Hong Kong’s Sai Wan Ho district. Over the years a series of transformations have taken place in the apartment. Each change aimed to maximize space and create more flexibility of use. These impressive changes have now transformed the small apartment into 24 different rooms.
