The roads are a mess and I did not use my time very wisely today. I hope to do better tomorrow.

Here is a video I made (rather boring at first) of the blizzard cleanup today. Lots of snow had to be moved here and there.

So, it's not the WORST blizzard I've ever seen (we have had some where the south fence wasn't visible) but it's the only one I've tried to video. I had to add the bonus footage at the end even though it has nothing to do with today's blizzard. Two days off from school! I'll try to use my time wisely...

Gloomy November

I think November is the gloomiest month. There hasn't been much sunshine in the past eight days and today we're having freezing rain along with ice pellets - and thunder! This may make travel difficult for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

Today we saw tiny bits of blue sky. Mostly, though, we had gray clouds with occasional sprinkles.

Frosty Morning

Today was a lovely day, for November, but it started out frosty. At least the sun was shining for most of the day, unlike our gloomy weekend when we never saw the sun.

Emptying Out the Camera

I need to get these photos off my camera so I can replace them with others, from a more distant place.

November has been pretty nice so far but I expect it to change soon. Still, except for the wind the weather has been great. I've used the mower for the last time this year and I did some fall tilling in the garden.

Ridiculous

This is ridiculous. I haven't posted anything since Oct. 12 but at least I have been taking my one photo each day. Or, well, maybe I missed a day or two. I've got to get back on schedule.

Lovely But Dusty

We've had some beautiful days but the dust is bad, even in town. I prefer dust over snow, however.

A week ago we had some frost. Tomorrow we might see record high temperatures. It's dry and dusty with all the farm equipment in the fields.

We've had light frosts the last two nights. It's the end of the growing season for delicate plants. The next few days may be a little warmer, nice for October. Farmers are putting in long hours harvesting the corn and beans.

It's the last day of September and fall is really upon us. The harvest is in full swing. We haven't had a frost yet but that may happen tomorrow night. The weather has been great the last few days except for the darn bugs that are always out at this time of year, finding a place to overwinter.

The weather has been very cool and now is pleasantly warm but very humid. Harvest is underway, when it isn't raining. I think we've had quite enough rain for now.

Last of the Warm Ones?

Our weather will be more fall-like for the next few days. If cooler weather causes the tiny pirates bugs to disappear, I'm all for it. Those bugs have a bite that causes pain all out of proportion to their size. For a few days every fall they make it unpleasant to be outside in the afternoon.

It's been a beautiful fall day. The bees have really been visiting the sedum in the flower bed. Their stings hurt, as I can attest from last weekend when I got stung.

I haven't posted for a few days but took pictures anyway. It's been lovely fall weather, except for an abundance of all types of bugs. That usually happens this time of year. Strangely enough, my crabapple tree must think it's spring as it some buds!
