One thing I enjoy drinking both hot and cold is tea. How I drink my tea depends on my mood. During the hot summer months, I like to enjoy a nice glass of iced tea to quench my thirst. During the winter months like like this month, I sometimes will enjoy a nice hot cup of tea in the morning to get my day started on the right track.

This month I have been asked to pair a food with the Lipton Green Tea Superfruit products. I received three new amazing Lipton Green Tea Superfruit varieties pictured below:

I am a big fan of raspberry, so I am pairing the Lipton Green Tea Superfruit Red Goji and Raspberry flavor with my simple homemade Apple Butter Scones. I actually drank a hot cup of this YUMMY tea this morning with my Apple Butter Scones drenched with pure and creamy honey. For those of you that have never tried the white, creamy honey, you are missing out!

Check out my stack of Apple Butter Scones… You can eat them plain or serve them with honey or maybe your favorite fruit preserves…

and don’t forget the Lipton Tea to dunk them in…. Now for the recipe…..

I love both of these products and it has been fun making delicious meals for my family that contain both products. This month I have made a Cheesy Chicken Melt.

If I could change one thing about my house it would be the kitchen. My kitchen is small and I have always wanted a large and open kitchen. I have had thoughts of doing a little kitchen remodeling that would include adding on to our current kitchen. It would be possible, but definitely a ton of work would need to be involved.

I would also LOVE to someday have a huge spice rack. I have thought of a pull out spice rack, but check out this one…

I would be in heaven if I had my spices and cooking goodies organized like this.

When it comes to cooking, I LOVE having all kinds of spices and condiments on hands. Food needs flavor and I have always have fun using different spices and such to prepare yummy meals for my family. The only problem is I don’t have enough space for all the stuff I would like to keep on hand. I have a spice rack, but would love a spice pantry!

One thing that I LOVE to cook is cakes. For me, making a cake from scratch can be better than a store bought cake. I make a chocolate cake that is super easy, from scratch and needs no frosting. You can use frosting, but I like to use powdered sugar with this one. For this recipe, I just throw all the ingredients in one bowl and mix. This is a super yummy cake that goes really FAST at my house.

Not only is eating your fruits and vegetables good for you, so is taking care of your health which includes taking all your vitamins and prescriptions each month!

For those that do not have insurance and spend out of pocket cash on your prescriptions, Walgreens offers a way to save money on both brand name and generic prescriptions with their Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. With this promotion, you can sign up your family for only $10. As a member, you will receive savings on more than 8,000 brand name and all generic medications.

For me, I prefer Walgreens over most of the other pharmacies because my local Walgreens is open 24 hours and even offers a drive-thru service. When I need medicine in the middle of the night, I always know I can count on Walgreens to be open, even on the holidays.

For those that are affected by the Walgreens and Express Script disruption of service last month, this might be a great way to save money if you are now paying out of pocket costs if you choose to keep refilling at Walgreens.

Remember, this promotion is only good this month! For more information, please find:

I have a food pantry and I try to keep it as stocked as possible. When I go grocery shopping, I try to buy extra of the food items that I buy often, especially if it is on sale or if I have coupons. Going grocery shopping is not always fun (especially with kids), so I try to keep the items that I use often on stock so I don’t find myself always buying the same items every time I go to the store or having to make extra trips.

For me, keeping a stockpile of the food items that I use often is a great advantage in case something goes wrong. For instance, if my car breaks down and I don’t have a way to the store, I know that I have food on hand to feed the family. You never know when there will be some sort of emergency, so it is better to be safe than sorry. Some might call their stockpile their foods for survival. If there is an emergency, having a stockpile of foods that you know how to use to create meals with is something that you should have, especially when you have children or others that depend on you for survival.

Here is a small list of some of the food items that you might want to keep in your stockpile:

Wheat

Beans

Rice

Canned foods

Peanut butter

Salt and other seasonings

Oatmeal

Honey or sugar

Dried milk

There are also some that keep freeze dried meals in their stockpile. I have personally never tried these, but I bet they would come in handy if you were really hungry and needed to eat.

So what are some things that you keep in your pantry?
