CVS $5 Challenge – week of 1/24
January 23, 2010

in CVS $5 Challenge

The goal of this CVS challenge is to come up with up to 3 scenarios where the total spent out of pocket is $5, while still growing your ECB’s. I’m going to assume that you start out with zero ECB’s to start with, or it makes it too difficult for others to follow. If you do have ECB’s to start, you can reduce your OOP to almost zero.

For more information on the abbreviations used in this post, please see my Coupons 101 article. For more information about shopping at CVS, visit my CVS 101 article. For additional scenarios, please visit Keeping the Kingdom First or Deal Seeking Mom.

Although I am repeating the first 2 transactions (AGAIN) this week, they are part of the bonus deals that are good through 2/14. You can do each of the Soy Joy and Oust deals 6 times total, so even if you did them the last 2 weeks, you will still be able to do them again if you have enough coupons.

Transaction #1

Buy Oust Air Sanitizer $3.99 each ($7.98 total) – Bonus Days item (limit 6)
Use B1G1 Oust Surface Disinfectant & Air Sanitizer, exp. 2-28-10 (SS #2 1/3/10)

Total after Coupons: $3.99
ECB’s Earned: $6.00

Transaction #2

Buy Soy Joy Bars 6 ct. $6.00
Use $6.00 ECB’s from previous transaction

Total after Coupons: $0.00
ECB’s Earned: $6.00

Transaction #3

Buy Crest Baking Soda & Peroxide, cavity, tartar protection 6.4 oz toothpaste or Oral-B Indicator toothbrush $1.99
Buy (2) Degree Ultra Clear Deodorant 2/$7
Use $0.75/1 Crest Toothpaste or Liquid Gel, exp. 2-28-10 (P&G 01/17/10) or
Use $0.75/1 Oral-B Pulsar Crossaction, Advantage or Indicators, exp. 2-28-10 (P&G 01/17/10)
Use (2) $1/1 Degree Deodorant printable
Use $6.00 ECB’s from previous transaction

Total after Coupons: $0.24
ECB’s Earned: $3.00

Total Purchase Price (before QP’s and ECB’s): $22.97
Total OOP: $4.23
ECB’s Left: $3.00

For more CVS deals, check out this post.

New to Blogging

2009-12-29T15:20:00.001-05:00

Hi, I am Missy and I am new to this blogging stuff. My sister is a whiz at it. Check hers out at www.justniftythrifty.blogspot.com , I will be learning alot from her. I may not be able to blog everyday due to working full time as a nurse. I love being thrifty, using coupons and building my stock of goods. I will post pics sometimes when I find a great deal, I also will add links for really good deals or good coupons. If anyone has any suggestions for me please feel free to contact me. I need all the help I can get. Looking forward to meeting new people. I love making new friends.
