Tuesday' go-green event

In an effort to cut down on the effect automobile exhaust has on global warming, Massachusetts state officials have asked progressive-thinking residents throughout the state to stay at home Tuesday (Jan. 19, 2010).

Dubbed "Stay At Home Tuesday," liberally-minded people of the land are also asked to GO GREEN and wear something green that day, like a t-shirt or something, to emphasize the green jobs still promised to come when they return to work on Wednesday ... if their boss lets them.

In other news, next month's election for the Senate seat left by Ted Kennedy has really heated up even though the election is still one month away. Republican candidate Scott P. Brown said he hopes all Massachusetts liberals will take heed on Stay At Home Tuesday.

"This Tuesday is a chance to save the planet, give peace a chance, and make love -- not war by staying at home," Brown said. "I can not think of more change that I can believe in, than a day not to make any errands to anywhere for a full day."

Democratic candidate Martha M. Coakley said that although she is reluctant to tell an entire state not to drive anywhere on Tuesday, she says "that's the thing to do."

"We would not have had to have a Stay At Home Tuesday if it were not for George Bush," Coakley said. "But I encourage all my supporters to go green, stay at home, and remember that because of you there's a whole lot less carbon monoxide going into the air on Tuesday."

Coakley said that the election on Feb. 14 will prove to be a dandy. "Voting on Valentine's Day for me will be a sweetheart deal," she said.

SNL nails Fox News

Is it just me or do you detect some nervous laughter from the audience during Saturday Night Live's opening skit on Fox News election coverage?

This is must-see TV!

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" Those under that category just might be bolstered by a revolt of any kind. But to categorize the tea parties as such is just showing your ignorance. These are everyday people that want a voice…a loud one at that. They’ve discovered that Obama & Company are way too intrusive into their lives then they feel comfortable with. Remember the Bush "wire taps" that were such a fear mongering tool for liberals? Well, try on an Obama-style government that controls every facet of your life because they hold the purse strings, and are sticking their hands into your pocket. That’s fear you can believe in!

Top 5 Bowlers Knocking Down Elitist Pinheads

The top five blog posts on Bowlergate. — President Barack Obama might have rolled a gutter ball on NBC's "The Tonight Show."

Toward the end of the interview on Thursday, Obama told host Jay Leno he's been practicing at the White House's bowling alley but wasn't happy with his score of 129.

Leno complimented Obama on the score, but the president quipped, "It was like the Special Olympics or something," which prompted laughter from the audience.

Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said the president's offhand remark was not meant to disparage the Special Olympics, only to poke some fun at the commander-in-chief's bowling skills......

Not "meant to disparage the Special Olympics?"

How about not meant to be inconsiderate of people who are mentally handicapped and who are seen as stars by their families while they make efforts to perform to the best of their physical abilities?

Oh, wait, this just in...Obama supporters say the president inherited the mentally handicapped people problem from the Bush administration.

The president's supporters went on to say that humor that isn't humorous was also inherited from the Bush administration.

Question: -- (Christian Newswire) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released 2007 data today reporting that the number of teen births is at a record high.

Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, Director and Senior Fellow of Concerned Women for America's (CWA) Beverly LaHaye Institute, asks, "When over two-thirds of public schools (68 percent) teach comprehensive sex education and those programs receive more than four times the amount of federal funding than the amount designated for abstinence programs, it's time to ask Dr. Phil's question, 'How's that working for you?'"

Crouse declares, "The focus on condoms is obviously not working. When leftist ideology leaves so many of our teens pregnant, parents must speak out to the nation's policymakers to demand that our vulnerable young people have the opportunity to hear the truth.

Abstinence until marriage is possible and it is desirable. Abstinence programs teach our teenagers self-control and help them gain self-respect. They learn how to say 'no' and they learn to set goals for a bright and promising future."

"Most teens want to get married and have children," said Crouse. "They don't want to short-circuit their potential. Most of the teens that have sex tell pollsters later that they wish that they had waited. If given the opportunity, those teens can learn how to be in control of their future and realize their goals and dreams.

Those who tell teens to surrender to their raging hormones as long as they are protected by a condom ought to be there when that teenage girl has to tell her parents that she is pregnant and that her boyfriend is long gone."

Crouse concluded, "Everybody needs to call their Members of Congress to express outrage at the amount of money going to Planned Parenthood and other groups that are promoting comprehensive sex education and spreading falsehoods about the effectiveness of abstinence programs. We need to quit funding groups who give out false information that leaves our teens vulnerable in ways that affect the rest of their lives."

Concerned Women for America is the nation's largest public policy women's organization.

Ward Churchill: Ich bin ein Nut Job!

*BREAKING NEWS: COURT COVERAGE OF HISTORY REVISIONIST, WARD CHURCHILL, FOUND ON THE RACE TO THE BOTTOM BLOG

Brief recap:

BOULDER, Colo. - A professor scorned for remarks about Sept. 11 victims vowed that his firing over allegations of plagiarism, falsification and other misconduct wouldn't end his 2-year dispute with the University of Colorado.

Denver Post Photo

By DAN ELLIOTT
Associated Press

"New game, new game," said a defiant Ward Churchill, referring to his intent to sue the university after the state Board of Regents voted 8-1 Tuesday to remove him as ethnic studies chairman.

Three faculty committees had accused Churchill of plagiarism, falsification and other misconduct in portions of his research. I wince and go ahead, cut and paste, import and upload. After all, it's about hits...isn't it!?

Oh, I'll just blame it on some slightly tweaked conservative.

The Other McCain shares How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog in Less Than a Year

He writes:

Having promised an appropriate celebration of passing the 1-million-visitors Site Meter threshold Friday, I will do so by sharing the secret of my success.

After a quick read, I hastily focused on Rule No. 5. In part it says:

5. Christina Hendricks

Or Anne Hathaway or Natalie Portman or Sarah Palin bikini pics. Rule 5 actually combines four separate principles of blogospheric success:

A. Everybody loves a pretty girl -- It's not just guys who enjoy staring at pictures of hotties. If you've ever picked up Cosmo or Glamour, you realize that chicks enjoy looking at pretty girls, too. (NTTAWWT.) Maybe it's the vicious catty she-thinks-she's-all-that factor, or the schadenfreude of watching a human trainwreck like Britney Spears, but no one can argue that celebrity babes generate traffic. Over at Conservative Grapevine, the most popular links are always the bikini pictures. And try as I might to make "logical arguments" for tax cuts, wouldn't you rather watch Michelle Lee Muccio make those arguments?

Be sure to read B, C, D, and E as well as the rest of this worthwhile post. Roll Spam Headlines

I'll be honest...this is my junk blog...although in all "modesty" there's some nuggets in here on occasion. border="0" />
This spam headline in my email inbox at work not too long ago, Elton John Dies in Rocketship, had me laughing...and thinking: How much do those spam headline writers get paid?

Now, I know some of you will say "Ya, I get those, too! You know those erectile dysfunction spams and the like." Well, sure we all get those, but it is this rock 'n' roll play on stars, their song titles and lyrics that got me going.

So, around work we came up with some really good ones, like "John Mellencamp Crushed By Pink House," "Jon Bon Jovi Found Shot Through the Heart," "Bob Dylan Flattened By Rolling Stone," and "Otis Redding Found Floating Under Dock By the Bay."

My next step was to take this "assignment" to my buddies at BlogCatalog.
