Brazil opens first solar-powered stadium ahead of 2014 World Cup.

This splendor looking stadium is the first in the world to provide all its own electricity using the solar power. The horse shoe-shaped structure in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has been built for the World Games which will take place in the city in July. It is the first stadium to use only solar power technology for all its electricity.

A Taiwanese official said the panels will generate 1.14 million kWh of electricity per year, preventing 660 tons of annual carbon dioxide from being pumped into the atmosphere from traditional power stations.

(Genes are found in almost every living cell and contain the instructions for how to keep a cell functioning.) The bees have some genes that trigger processes to detoxify a poison. They work by helping the body break down the poison. Findings linking honey to the activity of these genes appeared.

Despite these advantages, supercapacitor energy density is much lower than batteries and increasing energy density remains a key challenge in supercapacitor research. The goal of this work was to design and synthesize a supercapacitor with increased energy density while maintaining power density and long cycle life.

Her invent has been paid. She won the Second place winner in Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Google has apparently contacted Khare about the technology. She hasn’t disclosed any specifics about what Google has talked to her about, but she has said that she didn’t want to sell her work just yet. The technology she’s working on right now is already built to hold 10,000 charge-recharge cycles. Google has stated that 10 times more than the standard battery in their phones today. Needless to say, it’s easy to see why Google would want to figure out how to implement that type of technology in their own devices.

Swiss watch was found in 400 years old tomb

During an archaeological dig in Shangsi Town, China, a 400 year old tomb was discovered. Two journalists who were accompanying the archaeologists – further to the dig, the journalists reported that a small Swiss ring watch was discovered within the tomb.

It's believed that the tomb had lay undisturbed for 400 years – since the Ming dynasty.The photograph above seems to show the watch showing the time to be about 11:05.

“When we tried to remove the soil wrapped around the coffin, a piece of rock suddenly dropped off and hit the ground with a metallic sound,?” said Jiang Yanyu, former curator of the Guangxi Autonomous Region Museum.

“We picked up the object, and found it was a ring. After removing the covering soil and examining it further, we were shocked to see it was a watch” the word “Swiss” engraved on the back.

Google Street View Cameras Halted In India

Google’s infamous Street View camera cars only set to work on the streets of Bangalore last month, but already Indian authorities have ordered Google to suspend taking images because it has not secured the necessary security clearance. Google has said that after Bangalore, it plans to map all major cities in India the 27th country in which the firm plans to launch Street View. As well as cars, Google had been using some tricycles with Street View’s chunky camera equipment attached.

Local police were concerned that Bangalore has several military institutions, and a statement given by Google to the AFP confirmed that Google had suspended the operation following a letter from Bangalore’s police commissioner.
Street View concerns in developing countries are significantly different to obstacles Google has hit recently in Germany and Switzerland, which were about privacy and data retention.              A day after 13-year-old Dilson was shot dead allegedly for trespassing into an Army area, the Tamil Nadu government has handed over the case to the Crime Branch-CID.
           "Our officers and local officers are investigating. Any further information we will let you know," said CB-CID ADGP R Sekar.
            The Army had earlier indicated that a civilian or a policeman could have opened fire and that no arms were permitted in the area. But more than 24 hours after the incident, there is still no clarity on where the investigation stands. Under fire, the Army has now come out with a statement assuring cooperation in the probe.

            But there are still several unanswered questions -

Have the police identified the bore of the bullet that killed Dilson?
Since the Army uses particular types of bores, won't that be conclusive evidence?
Is it possible that armed civilians can be roaming around a restricted Army area?
Why are the police not treating this as a case of murder?
Has the Army allowed any of its jawans to be questioned by the police?

          Meanwhile, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has also stepped in and demanded a report from the Tamil Nadu government.

          "Such an innocent activity as plucking of a fruit can lead to this is shocking...We have taken suo moto cognizance and have asked the chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu to submit a report," NCPCR Member Secretary Luv Verma.

It's a shocking case, which raises several crucial question and hopefully, the postmortem report may reveal more details and the CB CID would be able to achieve a breakthrough soon and nab the culprit.

A Mexican prisoner hoped to escape for freedom by packing himself into his girlfriend's suitcase.

Guards at the jail in the southeastern town of Chetumal grew suspicious when the woman seemed nervous as she wheeled out the bulging bag after a conjugal visit with the prisoner.

Opening the luggage, guards found Juan Ramirez folded into the fetal position in his underpants and socks, a spokeswoman for local federal police said on Tuesday.
